Been to Cafe Sabor 3 times now, and each one I have really liked it a lot! Great spot and I love their chips and salsa (kind of a big deal to me - I hate it when Mexican restaurants don't bring out chips and salsa to eat as you order). So far my favorite menu item was the Camarones A La Diabla (I liked them better than the Camarones Mexicanos). The waiter asked if I was OK with them being spicy, but even though I had them made hot they really weren't that spicy. Maybe too spicy for a little kid, but anyone who can handle any kind of heat would be fine, and the flavor was awesome. I also have tried their carne asada, which I got as take-out, and while it was good I would have to try it in the restaurant before recommending that dish (i.e. don't get it take-out, as the steak gets cold). read more

Delicious food and awesome decor! Such a fun place to eat! This is our 2nd time here and 5 stars for both visits. We had the steak fajitas, pollo Durango, mole chicken and the pesto pasta. So we went to Cafe Sabor for a late lunch today..Seating was great..very clean and plenty of distance between patrons. The chips and salsa were exceptional today, service was excellent. The reason for my review is because of the fish taco I ordered. At $5.00 each I would love to have been able to identify fish in the taco. What I had resembled a fish stick chopped up..pretty disappointing because they used to be so good. We will go back it's a great little place, I just won't order a fish taco. read more

This is some yummy Mexican food! I love their Latin egg rolls as a meal. The second time I had Chile rellenos and pork enchilada. Everything was good but I think I'll stick with cheese enchiladas. Service is always good. Although I think we had a new waitress and she had trouble getting our tickets straight. It's always crowded, so call ahead for reservations. I've been here three times and have no desire to return. The quality, presentation, and flavor was nothing outstanding. My salad had tons of watery liquid in the bottom that literally watered down the flavor. The chimichanga was small and the meat was really dry. They have great daily deals. I love Taco Tuesday and their chips and salsa. They can be inconsistent with their portion sizes and their spice level. Some days we've gotten tons of beans and rice and other times hardly anything. Sometimes the spicy shrimp taco is very spicy and other times not. I started ordering medium so I don't get one so spicy I can't eat it. But the service is great, the deals are good and the food is delicious. read more

Street Tacos second to none! However, It was a busy weekday .. I ordered my favorite street tacos to go with a side of pico de gallo and a side of guacamole! it cost $ 28. I ask the gal WHY? She said $ 8. for each the sides.... I thought WOW expensive ~ OK just give me my food I waited 20 minutes! Go back to work ... food is ice cold... I was livid! This is my wife's favorite place to eat. She gets the same dish every time but she could eat it every day. The service is fast and they are still faster compared to others during the COVID freak out. I really enjoy the nachos. They are really big and full of flavor. read more

We came after reading all the amazing reviews, but our expectations were too high. It was very busy and we waited about 25 minutes to be seated. I ordered a chipotle chicken salad, and it was mediocre at best. It was bland, but maybe because I asked for no cheese. My daughter got the cheese enchilada platter and was not satisfied. They used the wrong cheese, at least from our experience with authentic enchiladas, and for some reason she got 5 measly pieces of lettuce on the side. But before we got our food, we got chips and salsa, which were amazing. The chips were warm and the salsa was just right. read more

Favorite Mexican Food in St George! My husband and I always try to sit upstairs in the bar area filled with open windows and a great view. I love their Chimichangas and my husband likes their smothered burrito. Guacamole is fresh and the salsa is hot... perfect for us :-) get here a bit early to beat the dinner rush. Years of going there but service, food, management have fell below Denny's and Denny's doesn't serve Mexican food. I would recommend any place but Cafe Sabor till they fire the kitchen staff and management and bring the place back to where it was 18 months ago. When I told one of the college girl waitresses that the service had fallen to bottom 1% of restaurants in all of Utah she said I like Denny's. People don't go to Cafe Sabor for horrible service and crappy food. I recommend George's Corner, Sakura, Buffalo Wild Wings, Don Pedros, it cooking at home before eating at Cafe Sabor until they get new management and cooks. They charged for burnt food that took over an hour to cook and management said it is what it is on Friday night. 5-29-20, I do hope they can make some changes and find their way back but cooks and management change is needed BADLY read more

Had been a while since our last visit and this Tuesday night outing told us that we hadn't missed anything special. The highlight was the Tuesday special: 6 street-style tacos (mix and match any of the menu combinations) and two drinks for $20. Part of the lowlights were the accompanying bland rice and probably canned refried beans. The salsa is very watery, resembling the juice you discard from a can of crushed tomatoes. The tortillas aren't homemade either. They're frozen dough balls that the place in a cooking machine visible in the main dining room. To top it off, we were seating in the absolute worst seats in the entire joint: right next to the constant entrance/exit to the kitchen and dishwasher. The door was always swinging back and forth giving us a good breeze each time it was use and a view of the dishwasher hard at work. This table should have been used for placing there takeout orders rather than the one near the least used kitchen door. Other oddities included the use of the table next to us as a temporary storage yard for used dining item bussed from several different tables and a booth totally devoted to visible take out and other supply item. Frosting on the cake was the staff's beginning its closing routine more than 30-minutes earl which included rolling up the dirty mat next to our table and sweeping the floor. It was quite apparent there was no adult management present and if there was there certainly was any knowledge of how to run a restaurant with customers present. read more

To add to it we had a 1 yr old choking at our table and when he saw us hitting on her back he grabbed her and went to action and was able to get it out. We were looking for a restaurant in St. George that stays open past 9:00 pm and were glad to find Cafe Sabor. The service was excellent and the food was solid. They were generous with the salsa and chips, refilling them as soon as they were empty. My husband and I hosted a buffet rehearsal dinner for about 50 people at Café Sabor. Taci Larson was our contact and she was so great to work with, always responsive and available. During the event, she was available to us, and the service and food was very good. Our guests were happy with the service and the food. Super disappointed. We got to the restaurant at 9:33pm. They closed at 10pm. So, late but not absurdly so. My husband walked in and spoke with a gentleman at the hostess stand. When my husband asked to be seated, this employee made an exaggerated motion of looking at his watch for several seconds. Yep, you know the move I'm talking about....yes, that one. Moving on. So, our waitress was very nice and no complaints about her. She was the nicest person to us in that whole establishment. We ordered right away, within a few minutes of sitting down. Trying our best to hurry ourselves so we didn't keep people later. The orders came out and my plate was extremely hot. But somehow, the food was mediocre in temperature. ? Anyhow, it also was sooo bland. No flavor at all. I ate a few bites and threw in the towel. My husband shared some of his food (which was good) with me but that's all I ate. So when we were asked how things were I said that I didn't care for mine. The waitress had the manager come over, who I initially thought was very nice. I was very polite and probably too kind in telling her it was not worth eating. I declined getting extra sauce or salt because neither of those options would have made things better. There was a moat of sauce - it just didn't taste like anything and I didn't want a salty burrito - yuck! So, I opted for nothing. I'll just eat some more chips and mooch from my husband's plate. But, honestly, I'm really hungry! And then, I remember they have chocolatesmmmm. So, before the check comes, I go down to get some of that yumminess to fill my belly but I don't see any employees in that area. I head back up and ask our waitress if I could buy some. She tells me she'll get somebody to help me. I see her talking to the manager, and then I see the manager storm down the stairs (where the chocolate case is), leaving me standing there like a fool. Really?? Nice. So let's recap: we walked in 27 mins to close (this was our only sin). We tried hard to make nice even though we were treated like garbage by the hostess the moment we walked in. My food was terrible and I ended up leaving hungry. The manager acted like a spoiled child stomping down and back up the stairs when I asked to PAY for something that you sell. So in closing this fun little evening; I am fully expecting my food to be taken off. But, I left while my husband paid. They discounted nothing. NOTHING. Really? After all of that truly undeserved rude treatment and the fact that I am now leaving hungry, you think it's appropriate to not offer a discount? Wow. I'll never come back. Ever.
