I'm not sure when drive-thru tacos became my thing, but years from now when people ask me about the times of COVID, I will promptly reply that the distancing was lousy but the drive-thru tacos were good. We had just driven into town and gotten settled in, and then fired up the Yelp app to find a place for a late-ish dinner. We also needed to get gas, so it was great that this is a two-fer. A Mexican restaurant adjacent to a gas station. We were even more excited about the drive-thru, per above. We rolled in about 45 minutes before closing and were the only ones in line. We took a moment to order, but in the end went with tacos, per the obsession outlined above. And not just tacos, but six different tacos. Carne asada, birria, pollo, carnitas, and I *think* cabeza and then I lost track. Anyways, this seemed like an easy enough thing, except that it was a varied order. But we pulled up to the drive-thru window to pay. And that's where we had the negative part of the experience. We sat for a minute or two. Then three. Finally I turned off the car. Then we sat some more. We sat long enough to start coming up with jingles for the restaurant. Bad jingles. Poorly constructed jingles. Non-rhyming. We were in high spirits and laughed uncontrollably, but inside the restaurant there didn't seem to be much action. We sat there for around 15 minutes, maybe more. That's a long time to wait in a drive-thru (though not the longest we would wait on this road trip.... ohhhhh... foreshadowing!) and we finally got our order. Aside from the very long wait time, everything was pretty good. Some hits and misses, but I'd recommend any of the meats. And they packed our mild salsas and limes and things, and it was all very serviceable. They do the two-shell method, but with the drive-thru wait and the ride back, they end up being pretty steamed together. They're also verrry liberal with the onions, so you should ask them to dial it back if you're not into that so much. But all in all, we got 6 tacos, chips, and guacamole (maybe pass on this next time) for about $15. I'm not too brave when eating here, I usually order a quesadilla and it's always been good. The other food I see coming out looks tasty. They have a salsa bar with about six different salsas, they are all tasty. I like this place and it's one of my go to places for Mexican food in St George. read more

I love theses guys and their food. I've been going there for years but recently I stopped. I stopped going there because I no longer could put up with being forced to make the decision on the computer screen at checkout to tip or not. 100% of the time I order take out, that should not be subject to tipping. I don't sit down to be served, I just pick up, pay and go. So I should give a 25% for that? A 5% and piss them off? I a take out they should toggle through no tip with the total. I stopped at Jalapeno's during my day trip to Saint George over the weekend. Prior to landing here, I was met with waitlists and road blocks to at least half a dozen sit-down restaurants around town. However, I wanted to get a bite to eat before heading back to Vegas, so I decided Jalapeno's would work just fine. The fare is pretty standard gas station-adjacent Mexican fare. The workers were not the friendliest either. I ordered the enchilada plate with chicken and green sauce, as well as a side of chips and salsa. It was meh. Giant wet burritos. You better come hungry because the portions are huge. Takeout for each order is served in catering size aluminum platters loaded with rice, beans, salad, and a packed wet burrito with loads of sauce. Everything tasted fine, but given the amount of sauce, it has hard for the fillings to stand out. I do wish the menu had some more distinct, traditional options. Take-out timing could improve. One of the later spots open in St George, as a traveller this was very welcome! Only drive thru was open after 9p but wanted to go anyway. Steak and Carnitas wet burritos is what we got. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. we have a new born baby in the hospital and we ordered food from this one place. (Will never again) and they messed up the order. We paid 45$ for our food including 10.95 for asada fries that came with just a box of cold fries and nothing else on it. When I called to ask them about it they laughed at me and told me they can't do anything. When I asked for a manager they said I can come in and hope that there is a manager there but would not tell me when they would be. I will be going in tomorrow to raise hell. Now that I've opened the rest of my food.... tortillas were so tough the could not be bitten through. Meat was bland and cold. Price was a dollar more than the menu showed so it was seven dollars. They wanted to charge an additional two dollars for sour cream. I went there this morning and called in my order 15 mins ahead of time and still had to stand outside the door and wait for 10 mins for anyone to even acknowledge me. Tried calling to tell them I was there and they wouldn't answer or would answer and just help the drive thru and keep me on the phone so I could hear their conversation. Finally got through to someone and asked for extra green sauce and she just hung up on me. She brought the food out and there was only 2 green sauce so I asked for more and she just walked in with out even nodding or saying a word. I don't know if it's because I'm from Vegas, and there's a million Mexican restaurants there that all compete to be the best or what. The restaurant itself is filthy and smells like the bathroom from the neighboring gas station. From my view there was poor cleanliness in the back counter. My husband and I both enjoy Jalapeno's. It is located adjacent to a convenience store/gas station. We really like that they have a drive-thru, and we always use it. The drive-thru works well except for the long wait times, even when they don't seem very busy. However, I love, love, love their shredded beef tacos, so the wait is worth it. The red sauce for the tacos is good (and spicy). I can't say if their green sauce is good or not (because I don't like green sauce), but my daughter eats green sauce everywhere she goes but doesn't like theirs. The carne asada nachos are also good and have a surprising amount of carne asada on them. We usually hit Jalapeno's about once a week. read more

I USED to love the breakfast burritos I get here. But this morning my breakfast burrito was absolute trash!! I was grabbing breakfast before work so didn't have time to go back and have them fix it. First off I ordered a salsa burrito with no salsa and no cheese, this is basically a burrito with egg and potatoes only. What I received was a tortilla full of egg and cheese, the cheese was not melted so a plus when I had to pick it all out trying to salvage my breakfast and then I bit Into egg shells inside the eggs. Jalapeno's is attached to a Sinclair gas station, but they have a door inside separating the 2 places from each other as well a front entrance to themselves.They also have a drive-thru so it's set up nicely. Inside is clean and the employees are friendly. The menu here is big and offers tacos, burritos, quesadillas, tortas, enchiladas, etc. They have a free salsa bar and fresh veggies at the front counter. I ordered the mini "Adobada Tacos" priced at $4.25 and it came with 3 of them. They had a nice flavor to them. The amount of meat was fair for the price and the tacos had the right amount of cilantro and onions. I just wish the guacamole flavor stood out, I noticed it on my tacos however didn't taste it. I'd like to come back and try other things on the menu, but it's nice to know I have found a good spot in St George for adobada tacos. read more
