A very cute spot with beautiful decor and it almost feels like you're not even in Chestertown. The outside of the building does not reflect the inside at all. Pros: The ambiance, french fries and lemongrass soup. I think because we got there an hour before closing, they were ready to go. The service was extremely slow and we were barely checked on by our waitress. My grandmother order a burger (well done), I had the pad Thai and Lemongrass seafood soup. The burger came out and was bleeding in the middle so we flagged down the host to have another made. My pad Thai was more on the sweeter side and really saucy. Different than I've had before but not too bad, it was better the next day for lunch lol. Id come back to try their sushi, I just wasn't fond of the service provided to us. read more

We discovered this restaurant on a whim tonight. We were blown away, it was absolutely amazing. The best Thai food we have ever had in the region, for sure. We are often in DC, Philly and NYC and have not had food this good in these cities. From appetizers to entrees to drinks, it was all incredible. Came with my wife on a busy Sunday--first challenge was the tiny, packed parking lot (that random speed bump didn't help). We expected a long wait but were seated faster than expected. The host was warm and personable, juggling everyone with ease, and our server Cathy was a total sweetheart--attentive without hovering. The staff worked well together, though the sticky tables and floors stood out. Food was excellent: sushi was worth the short wait, and the Pad Thai was flavorful with the perfect peanut crunch. The buy one roll, and get one roll for free deal is a steal! Overall, chaotic parking and sticky floors aside, the staff and food made it a great experience. Came here because I was craving sushi and the reviews were good. They are definitely known for their BOGO but the rolls are small and don't have a lot of meat. I wish I almost paid more but got more meat in the rolls. My husband and I were still hungry after our lunch and stopped somewhere else for a bit more food. Just made a simple phone call to ask about their vegetable tempura and got a rude worker answering. I asked her how many pieces of tempura came in the dish for 13$ and she asked her other co worker and I heard her other coworker say "I don't know." The girl that answered then told me "about ten pieces." I said "okay, thank you." But before she hung up she said "I don't know why she would call." The food was great best calamari I've ever had. The sushi taste fresh and the server we had both times my girlfriend and I went there was fantastic. We had the same host both times and she was so rude. She was rude on the phone over the phone and rude when we got there. I can't remember the name of her but she had blonder hair with black at the end and had glasses. She was giving us a hard time about sitting at a booth when the restaurant was empty. Cafe Sado needs to get rid of her then I'll give it 5 stars. I'm not the only one who has complained about her before the table next to us was complaining about her too. read more

Great food and the tuna tartar served with quail egg was a delight as was the eggplant in chili sauce. I also really enjoyed the Lemongrass soup with seafood. Staff was not very friendly but maybe they were shorthanded. All in all, a nice meal. read more

We've eaten here many times and it's usually good... We stop in when we're passing through on our way to Delaware. Honestly I don't know why in the description it says it's not good for kids. This is perfect place to take kids and I have seen kids dining here before and enjoying it. The food was as good as it always is. One thing that was just concerting is that everybody on the staff is wearing a mask except the guy who makes your sushi. Isn't there some kind of requirement in Maryland since we're still going through a pandemic that food workers have to wear a mask? He didn't put it on one time while we were there! The ambience is great and we were seated immediately, with service on-point. The Thai tea was very weak, would not recommend. Our table had two rolls (good), two orders of chicken Pad Thai (tough and over-cooked chicken) and the flavor was meh. I had Panang Chicken Curry. The chicken looked like frozen, pre-cooked filets with embedded peanuts on the surface. The chicken was served in very large hunks and very over-cooked. The flavor of the sauce was good, though. Rice was fantastic. My husband found a piece of soft plastic from perhaps a noodle bag in his dish. The only offer was 10% off the entree. Strange way to handle it. Let's start with the good. We had two orders of sushi that were pretty good - incredibly small rolls but tasted good. Also ordered summer rolls (spring roll on menu) the rice paper outsides were tough and inedible and the mango inside was hard and flavorless. The food and atmosphere were superb as always. However, I had an absolutely horrible dinner at your Chestertown location this evening. My waitress, katelyn, was one of the most rudest people I have ever met. Other reviews on different sites say she's great only because those people are her friends. This is why I feel the need to leave only a 1 star review. She degraded and belittled me infront of my friends. We requested separate checks. I ordered sushi and so did my friends, on seperate Sushi order forms. She brought it to us all mixed up and together on one plate. When I asked who's was which, she said "What? You don't know what you ordered? and Our machine is old, it makes mistakes."in a very demeaning manner. When I asked if she could correct the error, she very angrily said "Well, I'll take it back and have the Sushi people separate it for you." When she brought it back, she was extremely patronizing, describing every single section of Sushi on my plate. One friend had made a comment about having a relaxing dinner with each other to which your waitress interrupted our conversation and stated "Yeah, you should concentrate more on having a good time with your friends instead of worrying about this Sushi." I have been coming to this location for a long time and have never had any issues or problems until this evening. I was so distraught by her behavior that I couldn't even eat my food. I find it difficult to give this level of review to anyone but I LOVE Sushi and if you do too, avoid this place like the plague. Sorry. I like to try new Miso soup everywhere I go for Sushi. I had to send mine back 3 times because, while my GF received a good bowl, mine was lacking the in the soy paste (thats what makes it cloudy looking). It wasn't until the manager showed up that they finally understood my clear soup was missing the soy. By the time I got the correct soup, the Sushi arrived. We should have left at that point. The tuna was a blood red color I've never seen before. The rolls were not tightly bound. The cooked shrimp was the only thing correct but we're just talking simple boiled shrimp. I tried one of almost everything in my combo platter and extra rolls. My whitefish tasted like they had just bleached the cutting counter and then put the fish directly there to cut. I gagged. I strongly suggest you don't take a chance on this place. I had GI issues for the rest of the evening. I see some folks have given this place a good review. I spoke to the owner of the Inn I was staying at. I was told this place had a high turnover of employees. My server was hispanic. Thats fine. But he didn't understand the food. Bad. Great experience! Wonderful sushi, specials, noodles, soups, ramen, appetizers, and saki! We ordered 2 edamame bowls, very generous serving and not too salty! Pop and crunch!! We ordered 2 orders of crab Rangoon which was full of crab meat, not just cheese!!! I had to order a third because the kids devoured them! We ordered sushi and sashimi. Lots of choices to order, just mark the menu slip and give it to the server. Excellent flavors and textures. I ordered red curry and shrimp, which was yummy, not too spicy... and the plumpest shrimp I have had in a curry... and they shelled the shrimp down to the littlest tail tips, just enough to hold and not fight for the yummy meat in the end. Steamed rice was moist and sticky (my favorite). The boys ordered Tso chicken served on lo mein and shrimp with soba noodles. Desserts are delicious and a good selection.... if you can possibly have room leftover. The hot saki was hot, sweet,and refreshing... perfect in this cold wet weather! The boss man worked everywhere there was a need! Very personable and friendly! Our server was awesome, attentive, and patient... she answered all our menu questions. Very knowledgeable. I initially contacted them via Facebook messenger since we had a party of 9. And I also called that day to book the time. Great Japanese fusion restaurant for the area. The BOGO sushi roll deal will always keep me coming back, definitely the best sushi prices I've seen in a while and pretty much the only place to get sushi within a 15 mile radius of Chestertown. You do get what you pay for so to speak, the quality of the fish seems to change day by day and sometimes it leaves more to be desired but still way better than any other sushi I've had in the area. One downside is that the restaurant seems to be a complete dead zone for cell-service and they don't have wifi, need to text or call the rest of your party to see when they'll be arriving? You'll have to walk outside and hope for the best. Service is always friendly but sometimes can be slow even when they don't appear busy. Still, the food is usually worth the wait! Definitely a great place to try if you are looking for a slightly more upscale dining experience in Chestertown without a huge price hike or dress code. If you are a college student looking for a reasonably priced date-night or place to take visiting parents/friends Sado's is perfect! read more

I have to start by saying that I love that Chestertown has a sushi restaurant! For years and years, the closest sushi was in Middletown, DE, but no more! Sadly, Sushi Yama in Middletown is still much better than Cafe Sado. True, Cafe Sado is not exclusively a sushi bar, so it should be judged with its other food as well. There are several Thai dishes which are decent, but I still haven't found them great. The pad Thai, a benchmark which I judge all Thai restaurants, was middle of the road, with decent flavor, but too much sauce. The Thai lemongrass soup is a good spicy seafood soup, but it is very spicy so watch out if you can't handle spice. The "special" sushi rolls weren't all that different from the regular sushi. I thought the fish tasted fairly fresh, but the presentation was rather bland. There just wasn't the same attention to detail and care that the chefs at other places (cough Sushi Yama cough) have. I really admire Cafe Sado's effort, and I'm very open to going back to see if they improve. Until then, I can't justify giving anything over 3 stars. read more

The sushi is great, we love ordering from here, but lately the service has been really bad. Twice, my husband and I went there 20'minutes before they closed and were told that they couldn't serve us. There was no manager present, and it was obvious to me that the staff just wanted to leave right at closing. This was a quaint little restaurant my husband took me to for my birthday. He brought me to this cozy little bed and breakfast right down the street. This place was small but perfect for couples and could also handle a private party. The decor was sort of a modern rustic, but the place was very clean (including the restroom hold star). We ordered the sushi which was buy one get one free so that made it fantastic. But it was still tasty for the appetizer. My husband also started with chicken potsticker that he thought waa amazing. Our waitress was really great and very pleasing. For the main entree I ordered shrimp fried rice which was freshly cooked with big plump pieces of shrimp in it it was good but had a little too much salt for my taste I ate a good portion of this by adding some yum yum sauce. So if you like pepper you'll love this. Perhaps you could ask them to go easy on the pepper. My husband ordered this huge Kobe steak burger and fries that he loved. If busy leave! The host was very friendly. We waited about 20 minutes. Party of 3. The server was not good. Lobster bisque was bland. Edamame was cold with salt concentrated on top. They never mixed so we had to do it ourselves. My daughter ordered spicy tofu which was not that spicy. I ordered sweet potato dumplings and California roll with fresh crab. Neither arrived. My kids finished theirs and I ate some of my daughters. The server never came to check on us. When we finally got her attention we asked for check and told her to remove the two dishes as they never arrived. She just said ok and never apologized or offered to check on what happed.
