I stopped by Teriyaki House for a quick dinner last week when I was finishing up a day of work in Annapolis. Teriyaki House has a pretty good menu - teriyaki, bento boxes, poke bowls, stir-fried noodles, sushi... They probably have something for everyone. I had some crabmeat cheese wontons and a couple of simple sushi rolls (salmon and yellowtail). Everything I ordered was of pretty average quality - makes sense since I stuck with some classics. I also had a cup of green tea. The service was good - fast, friendly. The space is comfortable, but I was seated in front of the front door even though they weren't busy and there were tables along the other wall. This was the worst part of my meal, because every time the door opened, a gush of cold air (it was January) hit me while I ate my meal. It's a small place and there's not much they can do about it when they're packed, but they weren't busy when I arrived. I should have asked to move, but it was a quick meal. A superficially cute establishment, but not very good. Our waiter had a hard time communicating with and understanding us. It took longer to get the check than it did to eat the rolls I ordered. The salmon was unpleasantly fatty and had little taste; the spicy tuna had at least one ingredient that had gone off. The soy sauce was flavorless beyond a vague saltiness. I found this restaurant online and liked the menu options, so I ordered a pick up through door dash. I've only been in Annapolis for 2 months, so I'm still getting used to the area. I was unaware this restaurant was downtown, so imagine my surprise when I drive there. Since it was a Saturday afternoon, our was very congested and filled with people everywhere. I tried to find parking, but couldn't, which forced me to park on the street and turn my flashers on. One of the employees even helped direct me to the restaurant, which I couldn't find it. With that being said, please be aware of the restaurant location and difficulty with parking. I thoroughly enjoyed my sushi and chicken teriyaki when I got home. Q and the rest of the crew here work so hard to create such a fantastic vibe and some of the most delicious Japanese food around . The maki rolls always have the perfect ratio of super fresh ingredients and the yaki noodles are crazy good. Great place for sushi in downtown Annapolis! Normally when I'm in the area I go for pub food or seafood, so this was a nice change of pace. The food is delicious, the prices are reasonable, and you can't beat the location right near the water. Ask for an extra side of spicy mayo! I would definitely go back! read more

I was in town with my husband for business and was craving sushi. Thought I'd come here given the fantastic reviews. SO glad I did! The restaurant was very clean, as was the restroom, and the waitress was very pleasant. I had a simple lunch of miso soup and sashimi regular. The soup was flavorful with the silkiest tofu pieces I've ever had. The sashimi was the best I've ever eaten! Not a hint of smell with a firm bite. Every piece was divine. This little place seems like a tourist destination but, man, was I wrong! Their sashimi was the best of the local sushi places I have dined. Up the street is a very well known sushi place and it IS a tourist trap, in my opinion. Their sashimi plate was very elegantly presented and the quality of the fish is high. They gave me extra wasabi and pickled ginger but they were still insufficient for my preference. As for ambience, if you don't like bright white light, this could turn you off. I would say around a 4.5! Very pleasantly surprised by this addition to the Annapolis area! Most of the sushi restaurants around here are usually over priced and underwhelming but not teriyaki house. Sushi is super fresh and reasonably priced but I did not have any non sushi items so I cannot speak on the other food/apps. We wanted a place near Rams Head On Stage. My salmon teriyaki with brown rice and steamed veggies was cooked perfectly, along with the best shrimp shumai I've had, and some yummy rolls and miso soup. My wife was so excited about her bento box, which has hearty portions. We will definitely be back when we're in town. Had teriyaki at a place close to home and it was so overcooked/inedible. I was seriously skeptical with all the five star ratings, having been to this location when it was a previous restaurant. I didn't expect a lot, but quite frankly was blown away. from the miso soup to the fatty salmon and white tuna, and finally the mix teriyaki platter, everything was excellent. I can't wait to take my wife and son here next time we eat out. I highly recommend teriyaki house. wish I had a picture, but I was too busy eating :) read more

cute little shop with amazing service and fresh, delicious fish! the lady helping my party out on 06/10/2024 around 2:30 pm was a wonderful server who helped us with our questions and recommendations. their raw sashimi tastes SO good and their salmon lava roll (? not pictured) was a pleaser amongst us as well. my personal favorites were the tuna and salmon sashimi. we are from out of state (arizona) and this place within walking distance from our hotel was a great find. stop by whenever you get the chance for good sushi in annapolis! read more

Had lunch here again and had the pineapple fried rice - what a surprise! Absolutely delicious! I also used the bathroom and it was one of the cleanest I've ever seen in a restaurant. This is a refreshing addition to the Annapolis downtown area. The prices are great and the food was fresh without a whole lot of salt and additives. My husband and I started with sushi which I may not order again, the rice and protein ratios were a little off, a lot of rice and minimal protein. The dumplings and egg rolls were the best in the area. Tofu and seaweed salad was also great. The chicken teriyaki was good but not like the picture. I thought that it would be on skewers with grill marks. Instead it was cubed in teriyaki sauce, still tasty. It came with fresh vegetables and noodles. We really enjoyed the food and will return. I do hope that they do something about the flies. read more

My girlfriend and I were staying for a night at the Gibson's Inn just a block away and so we stumbled upon this place just from walking around. Glad we came here for dinner. Excellent little corner restaurant and cocktail bar. There was live music in the corner while we were there, dim lighting, nice decor, friendly service, and the pièce de résistance: a phenomenal meal. My girlfriend had the blackened mahi burger, and I had the steak burrito, stuffed to capacity, drenched in red sauce and crema, exquisitely prepared and presented. Washed down with a local IPA. If we lived locally we would come here a lot more often. As is, we promise to come back when we are back in Annapolis, whenever that may be!
