I LOVE this place for Tapas. It's located in the Triangle in Costa Mesa. This was my first time trying Spanish food and I am obsessed with the Pan con Tomate. It sounds so simple but it's a tomato, olive oil, garlic mix topped on toasted bread and added Manchego cheese on top. Service is really nice too with cute Spanish decor. Came by here to celebrate my birthday. When we arrived our IDs were checked at the door in order to be seated inside. We came for a dinner reservation. We were seated inside near the stage. When we arrived there was music playing and the environment seemed quite lively. I understand they were probably shortstaff because it took a little while for everything, but completely understandable with the current circumstances. Nonetheless our server came showed us the menu, they also explained everything because it was our first time coming to this restaurant. So that was very nice. We ended up getting the two for $99 5-course meal. You got a selection for four of the categories from a variety of tapas and the last category was a lemon tart dessert. So service was all right, because it did take a while and are a server was constantly running around to many tables in the area. 8/10 Ambience was nice, however there was a very unruly table next to us. The other customers were very very drunk and they were shouting on the top of their lungs, breaking a wine glass, and just disturbing our nice dinner. For our experience 5/10 because of the table next to us. It certainly is a loud environment, just to make a note of. The food is very interesting, Spanish food. We ordered a variety of items to try. The paella was especially delicious. They also gave me a complementary dessert for my birthday and had a sparkly candle. Definitely an interesting experience, they had a variety of drinks but we were driving so we didn't have any that night. Came on a Wednesday and the place was super lively! The bar and outside seating area got packed really quickly. I ordered the octopus ceviche, duo sampler (you can ask for the trio which is off menu but allows you to try each flavor), and traditional paella. All were solid choices and full of flavor. We came to the restaurant at the tail end of happy hour on a Saturday. The service was phenomenal! Perfectly attentive, with tons of recommendations when we had no idea what to get. We ordered the papas brava, ceviche trio, and queso fundido as appetizers, and a family size traditional paella valenciana. We also got the red sangria and white sangria. EVERYTHING was absolutely DELICIOUS! The papas brava was spicy, so if that's not for you, you've been warned! The ceviche trio was great because we got to try all the ceviche - you can't go wrong with any of them if you did order only one though. And the queso fundido is a MUST; so much cheese we had to cut it to get it on the bread. But obviously of all these, the paella was the star of the show! Perfectly balanced flavor, more than a fair share of meat, and just overall cooked to perfect. I'm drooling writing this review LOL! I will say the music is a bit loud but if you are into that go for it. My favorite thing here had to be the grilled octopus! It was tender, flavorful and spicy! This was my first time having Mexican style tapas, but i greatly enjoyed the food. I love the ambiance of this place and it seems like a lot of fun to be there on the weekend especially with the dance floor. What a neat experience! Love the choice of a 5 - course meal for two! We were able to try a variety of the food items! The halibut shrimp ceviche was my favorite. We sat outside, in what felt like our own private cabana! We could see through the window inside there was a flamingo show going on which I would love to go to one day! There was also live music! The only con was the paella. We had high expectations for this dish. It was not as brothy/ to dry compared to others we have had. The lamb over powered everything And seem to be the main flavor we tasted through the whole dish. The only food item we didn't scrape clean off the plate everything else was fabulous! Ambience was great but there were three of us in our party and they set us at a table that pretty much was for two people very crowded. We had to maneuver our plates, so that we could fit everything onto the table. Also, didn't appreciate the 5% surcharge to cover wages and such since the food was pretty overpriced. We LOVE coming out here for brunch! We always opt to sit outside. The server was very cold this time, but the manager's (Aurora) hospitality totally made it up for the very disappointing service. The food was fantastic as always. The black seafood paella, the queso fundido and the braised short rib coca were delicious!!! The calamari and tuna tartare were disappointing. The calamari were tiny and over-battered. The tuna tartare ... I couldn't taste the tuna, and part of the tower tasted almost frozen hard. The restroom was super clean, and parking is abundant in the garage structure. Would we come back? Absolutely! We had 7:15 pm reservations on a Saturday night and it was packed. Took them about 20 minutes to clear a table. At least there was plenty of free parking in the structure underneath and it was right next to the broken escalators. We sat in the outdoor patio which wasn't cold at all and had a roof over our heads to keep the drizzle outside. Menu is also online. Despite how busy they were, our server was fantastic. I missed her name but she had black long hair in a ponytail, tanned skin and wasn't particularly tall and probably in her 20s. She was attentive and checked on us often. Our food also came out in a timely manner. Barrel of Royal Sangria: could've used more fruit but it was definitely a lot of sangria. It got stronger the more you drank interestingly enough. My friends really enjoyed it and one drank so much (5+ glasses) she puked in the car, the bushes, and her toilet back at home. We had a good time. Ahi Tuna Tower: very creamy ahi tuna with pineapple and avocado. Wasn't a fan of the rich cream sauce they put all over it and the tuna was okay quality. Presentation was impressive though. Came with some grilled baguette slices. Octopus ceviche: definitely recommend and it was simply seasoned with some lemon juice, salt and pepper. Octopus had a good crunch to it and wasn't overcooked. Also had grilled baguette slices. Carne skewer: 1 big beef skewer without about 10 pieces of meat. It was alright, definitely grilled beef with some salt and pepper. Cooked to about a medium to well done. Friends ordered the charcuterie that was pretty standard and the croquettes which were very crispy on the outside and hot on the inside. Cheese was the best flavor. Black seafood paella: looked very cool but definitely wasn't anything special. The black rice tasted like regular steamed white rice but black colored. The seafood was cooked perfectly though. About 1 chunk of salmon, lots of mussels, a couple of clams, squid rings, tentacle ends and 3-4 pieces of shrimp. It actually tasted a lot better the next day in the airfryer. Vegetarian paella with mushrooms: this one was actually seasoned much better than the seafood one and was chock full of green beans, peas and mushrooms. Rice was also better cooked here but surprisingly was not as good the next day. And more oily. Unfortunately, both paellas weren't very crispy at all although we requested it. Definitely not the best paella I've ever had. My regular Chinese fried rice place makes crispier rice. If you like steamed rice though, the paellas did the job. Churros: definitely order the Madrid churros over the regular cheaper version. The Madrid churros came with a basket of churros, a whole can of fresh whip cream, and that rich liquor that really elevated the chocolate. Without the liquor, the chocolate dip tastes like little kid hot cocoa. Churros were fresh, hot, crispy and plenty of sugar. They burn off the liquor so it doesn't taste alcoholic at all and I think younger kids would still enjoy it. The cheaper churros only come with 3 churros and a small fruit bite, so I don't recommend that unless you only want to eat some churros and nothing else. Overall, pretty decent spot for drinks and Spanish food. Very lively and we saw some flamenco dancing indoors. Good for dates too but it's definitely on the louder side. read more

Located in the extremely popular Triangle shopping center, expect this place to be busy at all times, so make a reservation! There's an outdoor section with plenty of table-level gas fireplaces, as well as an inside section with traditional tables & couches lining the walls. We went during happy hour, so most of the tapas were very reasonably priced, and all the cocktails were $8. Everything was good, except for the Spicy Octopus Ceviche. It was very small compared to the portion sizes of everything else. The papas bravas were my favorite tapas, because it came in a paprika spiced tomato sauce which gave a pleasant aftertaste. Paella = star of the show! We got the paella split into 2, which was $60. We had the seafood Marinera & the meat Rupestre. The rice was amazingly seasoned & cooked perfectly. The only thing is, we had 4 people and we only ate half of each after eating all of the tapas. Shoutout to Sherry for the friendly service! Happy hour prices are good so if you're looking for a place to hang w friends and try a bunch of different tapas this is nice. These are basically a note to myself for next time. Table French baguette w dips - garlic one was standard sweet garlic bread dip, the andalusian(?) one however was amazing Pan con tomate - a good break from the heaviness of other dishes. Heavier deeper tomato flavor than I expected but I like Boquerones filet on toast - liked this one a lot! Fresh punch of acid balances it and other tapas out Garlic manchego mashed potatoes - very cheesy and is a little funky bc of it. Tasty but heavy Gambas Al ajillo - not very garlicky don't get. Not like Habana's Baby back ribs (comes w the garlic manchego mashed potato) - good deal but too sweet. Personal preference for me since I don't enjoy bbq but my fam does Papas bravas - soggy not crispy but portion is big lots of paprika but not really salty enough Tortilla espanola - goat cheese yum. Wonderful experience at Cafe Sevilla. We had the privilege of having our server Josh be both the bartender and waiter at the same time. He is amazing! He literally had so many recommendations for us and was always checking on us. It made the night even better. Everything about our spontaneous date night out was wonderful here. The drinks, atmosphere, service and food were great! We absolutely loved the Paella, the appetizers (both the shortrib Flatbread and halibut cerviche), and the dessert (lemon tart). There were no complaints at all. The live music tonight was also a great addition to the experience. Came here on Thursday for the $35pp cafe special. I noticed other patrons looked frustrated, especially a family of 3 across from us -they'd been there longer and were still waiting for their entrees after 40 minutes. Empanadas (the only delicious thing that we ate), chicken skewers (bland), potatoes (cold) came out and that was it. Over 40 minutes and no server/no food. We thought kitchen was understaffed and didn't mind waiting-until we noticed the table of 4 behind us (who got seated 20 minutes ago) receive all their entrees/drinks. Flagged a random waitress down who looked into her system and realized hostess/manager never transferred our table to new shift workers. .... wow. The braised rib pizza came out after 10 minutes, burnt/dry. Paella came out, bland and the seafood + chicken were dry/hard/rubbery Lemon/sweet potato puff pastry came out, they were alright. Not memorable. Bill was $144 -there's a 5% surcharge to "help staff + rising costs." Cafe Sevilla was a pretty bad dining experience. It was such a messy, unorganized set up. I've been a hostess/server myself and even I would've noticed tables not being served/recognized facial expressions. Not sure how there was a wait when we finished "dining." This place did NOT disappoint! So we made a reservation just to secure a place when the establishment opened up at 3:30pm. Happy hour happens Sunday-Friday: 3:30PM-6:30PM & ALL NIGHT HAPPY HOUR Tuesdays Only. The Bar manager also told us that they have Salsa dancing Wednesday nights (forgot what time sorry); there's Salsa & Bachata dancing on Sundays. They play a live gypsy band every night too. The establishment is very lovely. Dressy attire is the dress code. We decided to sit outside. There wasn't too many people since we did arrive at the time the place opened. The outdoors had nice seating and wonderful decor from light fixtures to transparent bonfire pits to keep us warm. It was definitely cozy. The music was wonderful as well. Y'all!!! The flavors that came through the dishes we had ordered from the happy hour menu were beyond my expectation! Can you say flavor town? Like wow! It was definitely beyond an amazing experience! All the dishes we ordered are definitely worthy of sharing. We did buy some drinks: my friend had the Barbacoa Margarita which has Blanco tequila infused with pineapple & serrano peppers, lime, pineapple garnish, & I had ordered the Espresso Martini which has Grey Goose vodka, espresso, bailey's, Orgeat, 3 espresso beans as a garnish. Lively restaurant for a night out but it could have been better. Came here on a Friday night for dinner with my friend. We had a reservation for 6:30pm but was seated at least 10-15 minutes late. There were at least 3-4 groups of people who were walk-ins that were brought in before us and the host just stared at us and signaled with his head when we were able to be seated. Well, onto the food: -Paella Valenciana: The portion size was labeled "family" but I honestly think it could only feed a family if everyone got a small portion for themselves and ordered many other dishes from the menu. If you're hoping to have the paella as like an entree, the "family" size is really only enough for 2, maybe 3 if you're being modest. Anyway, so the Valenciana has mussels, clams, calamari, shrimp, grilled sausages, some peas, sliced pepper, and lemon wedges on the sides. I thought the proteins were cooked well but have had better mussels and clams. There was also a darker colored sausage I wasn't the biggest fan of. Overall, the dish was filling but not enough for a bigger group. -Croqueta de Queso: I thought this was a good tapa but the menu says it contains ham and chorizo? My friend and I honestly only tasted the cheese. -Passionfruit Caipirinha: I liked the cocktail a lot. It was refreshing and definitely a good choice if you're looking for something on the lighter side. Cute presentation. The restaurant and parking: Sevilla is located on level 2 of Triangle Square. It's right across from La Vida Cantina and near the movie theater. The parking structure at Triangle Square has plenty of spaces and they're free so there's no issue there. It just gets cramped and busy on the lower levels oftentimes so I would probably recommend to park on the higher floors and use the elevators. Overall: Good atmosphere. Saw some people salsa dancing by their table and there was loud music playing but prices are kinda steep. Really would only come back for some drinks and maybe light tapas but I would not likely be going for a full meal. read more

Live music is back! Went for a nice dinner and did their 5 course + got some other things from their happy hour menu as well-- everything was delicious! All of the staff were simply wonderful from beginning to end, so thank you so much! There's a 4% surcharge for staff etc., but I also ended up tipping some cash as well because I think they deserve it. It's not easy working in the service industry, especially now. They work hard to make sure customers are happy and have a good time. I made reservations online-- once there, we were seated immediately inside close to the musicians.
