All my visits to Cafe Sevilla have been such a good time. This is a spot we've attended with friends (party of 4 - 8) so it can accommodate small and large groups. I would recommend making a reservation through Yelp (for parties of 6 or more, you need to call the restaurant). Without a reservation, expect a bit of a wait, especially Fridays and Saturdays because they tend to have live music on those days (starts at 8 or 9 pm). For parking, you utilize the parking structure and I've been able to find parking even on busy weekends (closer to the top but there has always been a spot). For a smaller group, I recommend their dinner menu. I've had their delicious Pinchos De Pollo, which comes with three grilled chicken skewers, saffron rice, and a side of veggies. My friends have tried their Valencia Paella (mussels, clams, calamari, shrimp, chicken & grilled sausages) and Seafood Paella (clams, shrimp, salmon, prawns, mussels & calamari), which they enjoyed. Paellas are served for a single person or family style if you want to share with your table. Their daily baked bread is kind of pricey but it's so good with your dinner. If you're attending Cafe Sevilla with a larger group (4+), I would recommend ordering a bunch of tapas and a barrel of their Classic Sangria Royal (red wine sangria + licor 43, orange brandy) if a lot of members from your group are drinking because you get better bang for your buck. The tapas I recommend are the papas bravas (a MUST), calamares fritos, queso fundido, empanada duo, and brussel sprouts a la barcelona. The barrel of sangria is also so cool, they bring the barrel and bring a bunch of glasses for your group. For a group of 6 - 8 people, you can get 2 - 3 glasses per person so it's worth it. It's such good sangria and the orange brandy gives it a little something extra without the overwhelming taste of alcohol (it can sneak up on you so be careful). What's also nice about this place, is that you can enjoy the live music inside near the bar area, which is free. Or if you want more of a "club" vibe, they have that in a separate room, but that requires a cover charge (when we went, this was $20 per person). If you're a millennial, you'd appreciate the music (yes, some T-Pain was played...A++). read more

Cafe Sevilla: amazing food, amazing drinks, great deals, beautiful ambiance! It was a first time for my friends and I and we just loved the food and the atmosphere! As for service, it was nice that we weren't bothered so often but my party did wait to be helped 10-15 months after our reservation time to be seated. Additionally when it came to paying the check, our server just disappeared and our friend had to get up to go find someone to pay after waiting for 20 min. We had reservations for a Wednesday night for 13, I was not able to get anyone over the phone but received a quick reply after sending an email. They require a pre fixe family style menu for a big group, we had to put a deposit down to be able to make the reservation. The place is a vibe with the fire pits, live music and watching the dance lessons. The hostess was the one thorn of the evening, seemed a bit distracted. When she sat us at a lower table which would have been too tight and uncomfortable for us and asked to switch tables we were brushed off. Not really how you would want to start an evening where we would be paying hundreds of dollars. However, our server Marianne J was a breath of fresh air-we would come back over and over to interact with her! She is the epitome of the industry, she explained the menu and made the perfect sangria suggestion - we opted for a barrel of the classic sangria royal. We weren't sure if our party would enjoy the food especially since there's so many different palates and dietary restrictions but there was something for everyone. The Friday night we came, we were able to get seated promptly after arriving for our reservation. The host, server, and all other staff were more than accommodating in all aspects, including recommendations. When we placed our initial order, we asked the server for any additional recommendations and she said the olive bread was a must. This was probably the least expensive item on the menu and also did sound delicious. We were very glad that we decided to listen to her because it was amazing! Also, I think it's kinda suspicious when you ask for a recommendation and they suggest the most expensive item on the menu. I always take that to be their way to increase the bill for more tip. All the other dishes we got were very good, with the queso fundido and squid ink paella being our top 2. Came here on a Saturday morning for brunch with my friends. You can make reservations as we did. It wasn't too busy. We got seated immediately. They have a large patio and large inside seating area. We sat in the patio very spacious. We had awesome service! We all got bottomless mimosas and our glasses were constantly filled and full. Our food all came out at the same time so we didn't have to wait for each other to start eating. I got the 6 option tapas. The short rib, salmon, and pastry were good but the other 3 tapas were just okay the eggs Benedict was bitter I think it was the bread. We also had some shots and they were all smooth and delicious. The food was absoluteky NON authentic, flavorless, calamares cold and chewy, tortilla made with boiled potatoes instead of fried, onions over caramelized, meatballs were not marinated prior to frying, salchichas/ morcilla was more Fajitas. Free parking is available in the garage. Credit cards are accepted and you can pay the bill/split the check via bar code through your phone. Ate here with my family for my aunt's birthday. It's a cute place to eat in Newport Beach. The restaurant is massive with a great seating area outside. Tables were pretty close to one another so you must likely will hear your neighbors conversations. We ordered the croquettes as a tapa and the traditional paella. Croquettes had a nice crispy texture though it could've used more ham instead of mostly cheese. We have visited Spain before, so we were comparing the paella that we've had prior to this experience. The presentation of the dish was lovely, but we felt that the flavor was a little bit lacking and rice could have been cooked for a minute longer. WORST SERVICE ANYWHERE IN YEARS AND THIEVES. First of all, the people next to us had their purses stolen from their seats. Secondly, on that same night (Wednesday, 5/22/24) I came with my group to dance. When the place turns into a nightclub around 10pm, they have a restroom attendant. I was friendly with the attendant but after I asked him for more paper, he refused to give me any until I gave a tip. I told him he couldn't do that and asked again for paper. He refused again, so I reached for the paper and he stopped me. I told him I was going to complain and in Spanish he told me to go ahead. Then he called me - a customer - a "marica," which is very insulting. I told the manager (she said her name was FABI, but who knows cause she was on his side all night) that it was a firable offense. She didn't seem to care and said he's not an employee of the company but a contractor, so I said he's still a company representative. She then finally said she'd talk to him (after I pushed for it) and I thanked her. An hour passes. I go back to the restroom and again the attendant acts the same, with another insult. I tell Fabi the manager again and she seems annoyed with me. One last time another hour later I go to the restroom but this time record the conversation. The audio clearly shows the attendant being insulting to me while I was being polite. Before I leave I tell Fabi the manager I have proof of him insulting me and Fabi doesn't want to hear it, insinuating I'm unreliable and the instigator even though I had proof since she never seemed to believe me, the customer. Management (Fabi, if she even told me her real name) had 3 opportunities to fix things and only made things worse. Never coming back. Fire them both. read more

We were told that the hostess was also weighing tables and cleaning, and that she was short staffed with only one person working. No apologies provided. I could tell the owners put a lot of thought into designing this place. We were served by Marianna (she's actually in the background of 1 picture!), who delivered 1st class service. It was sooo cool that she was our server for BOTH nights! She is so attentive, knowledgeable, and consistent. Always checking in on our table, patiently explaining menu choices, offering recommendations, asking how we enjoyed each dish/drink, walking me through each item on the bill to ensure accuracy. The first visit was so fun and cool that my cousin requested to cancel his Saturday birthday party dinner with the family at another restaurant---then requested that we come back to Cafe Sevilla instead!! Provided great atmosphere while eating (loud but not overwhelmingly loud, we can still talk to each other). After dinner service, servers start clearing tables inside the main floor to become a dance floor with a live DJ. This is probably the best time to clear out if club vibes aren't your thing. There are still tables to the side of the inside main dining floor and bar area to sit and people watch during this time. I was very interested to know there was another club connected next door to Cafe Sevilla (which also has its own charm and vibes). 5/5 would recommend Cafe Sevilla, Marianna was an exceptional server, music was exciting, food tasted delicious, and overall a really good feeling about this place. read more
