The lady behind the counter was extremely rude and told us "sorry there's people ahead of you" (not apologetically) - we were the only people there when we showed up, everyone else sitting down came after us, and we didn't see anyone pick up to-go orders. Came here during a roadtrip along the Oregon coast for a breakfast meal. Ordered the Club sandwich ($10.95) via phone and it was ready for pick up within 15 mins when I arrived . They were also nice to give me a to-go cup of mayo since I requested it. The sandwich's size was a big portion, which includes focaccia bread, roasted turkey deli, brie cheese, bacon, herb cream cheese, tomatoes, and dijon mayo. The focaccia was soft to the bite and had a good griddle marks. There was plenty of tender turkey deli meat along with large pieces of crispy bacon. I liked that the brie cheese was a creamy spread, which melted well with the herb cream cheese. The tomatoes were ripe and not too wet, which can happen with overly ripe tomatoes. The sandwich was large enough for me to share with my wife and be satisfied with the food portion. The accompanying bag of chips and sweet/sour pickle was tasty too. read more

Little family own cafe in downtown Newport. The restaurant has several options for breakfast and lunch and they close at 2:00pm. When you come in, you have to wait to be seated. Once you look at the menu, you may go to their front desk and order your meals. Meals will be brought to your table once they are ready. I ordered the potato tornado. On a scale 1-10, this is a 7 for me. The potato's were sweet and it was just different. We also ordered the omelets; these were ok too. Their lattes were really good! We discovered a true gem, hole in the wall cafe in the cute "Nye Beach" area of Newport, Oregon. This is an adorable part of Newport off the beaten path. I have a feeling this is a favorite place among the locals. This place is my favorite kind! Locally owned and operated. Stephanie herself refilled our water and checked on us twice. This is a tiny place with more outdoor seating than indoor. With the unpredictable PNW weather, this could be an issue. This is not a place that can accommodate large parties. I'd say 4 people per table max. We were greeted and seated immediately by a young man that turned out to be Stephanie's son. The service was excellent, which I've noticed a severe lack of in this crazy pandemic world with terribly understaffed restaurants. The staff were all friendly, smiling and very welcoming. In addition to breakfast, they also have an extensive coffee/espresso menu which we took full advantage of. The hubby had a large Americano and I had a large Mocha. I've been an espresso addict for a good 30 years and have had espresso all over the country. My Mocha was literally the best I've ever had. The espresso to chocolate ratio was spot on. Not too sweet, not too bitter. My hubby says the Americano was "excellent". Both were served piping hot which really set the tone for my expectations. Hot coffee is the perfect way to start your breakfast. I ordered the "Potato Tornado" with scrambled eggs and an English muffin. The serving size was very generous. The potatoes were exactly as I love them- almost burnt, but super crispy outside, tender on the inside. I would've enjoyed a bit more red pepper and onion, but it was still very well seasoned and delicious. I ordered easy on the cheese. My scrambled eggs were certainly the fluffiest I can recall. Even the garnish of fresh pineapple and orange slice were wonderful- they were both very fresh and sweet. My hubby went for the Omelet with ham, sausage, bacon, mushrooms and Swiss cheese. This was also very fluffy and stuffed so full that the meat snuck out the sides a bit! This looked amazing and my hubby cleaned his plate! The best part was that everything looked and tasted fresh and homemade. We will definitely be adding this cafe to our list of "must eat" on our yearly beach trip. The only negative, which is completely just my own phobia, was a few oddly placed fake crows. I'm deathly afraid of birds and even these pretend ones made me a tad anxious. read more

After you are seated and given a menu you line up at the counter to place your order. They have both indoor and outdoor seating but the seating outside is in the sun and I did not notice any umbrellas or shrubbery to provide shade. My husband had the zucchini French toast with bacon and I had the potato bowl. The food was below average. My potato bowl had undercooked potatoes, some sort of spicy sausage mixture and was topped with scrambled eggs that were really not scrambled but were just cooked eggs on top of the potato meat mixture. I ended up leaving most of my meal behind. Service was decent and coffee was topped up. It is not good value for the money. read more

Went for breakfast based on the reviews and we're so glad we did. This place is fabulous. Great food, great coffee, the music (and singing) from the kitchen was everything. The cinnamon roll is huge and the bread is dense but soft. The frosting is clearly homemade. My daughter had the Marion Berry crepes which were expertly filled and rolled. She was happy with the spicy chai tea. The mocha... I'm always hoping for a rich flavor that doesn't come over like hot cocoa and they did not disappoint. Nice roast, good cocoa flavor without being sweet with rich whip on top. It's definitely worth paying for a second cup. They were nice about subbing fruit in place of the meat on the French toast and didn't skimp on presentation like so many cafés do. I'm sad we won't get a chance to stop in again before heading home. My wife and I ate there Sunday morning. Service was friendly, but the ham/mixed-meat omelet and Biscuits/Gravy we ordered were nearly unedible. The B&G gravy was the worst tasting either of us have ever had served, and the bisuits were rock-hard and stale. The bacon in the omlete was burned to a crisp, and the pineaple slices it came with had mold on the rind. We noticed the couple sititng next to use also left their meals 1/2 eaten--and we could see the burned potatoes left on one plate. In addition, a small milk (literally the size of a double-shot glass) was $3.50. If you go there for their quiche, pastry and coffee, it's probably ok. Delicious, freshly made fair downtown Nye Beach. They have espresso drinks! The crepes and French toast were melt in your mouth good. Fresh baked cinnamon rolls that look amazing. Spicy breakfast sandwich was tasty. My only gripe would be the awkward line you have to wait in to order your food after getting your seat and a menu. Cute little place. Does not, in fact, close at 3 like Yelp says, but at 2. They were nice enough to take my call-in order despite closing in minutes. Thanks for that. The people working were super nice, also. I waited so long to write this review, because I thought I would be back again, but I haven't and probably won't be. My veggie sandwich was not good at all. The small slices of sourdough bread were more we like weak white bread. The herb cream cheese was alright, but the incredibly intense vinegar flavor of the pickled onions actually ruined the entire sandwich and I had to pick them all off. Aside from those two things, it only had a single leaf of wilted lettuce and one tomato for the entire sandwich. I think it was supposed to have avocado on it, too, but there was hardly any. More generous portions inside the sandwich and including sprouts, thinly-sliced cucumbers, and diluting the pickling solution of the onions would be my suggestions you didn't ask for. I'm always in search of good corn beef hash. This is one of the best corn beef hash I've ever had. It was soft, juicy, and well seasoned. It just melts perfectly on your mouth. The beef seem shredded. I'd definitely come back again for this. I was full for the whole day. The two poached eggs were a little bit overcooked but the corn beef was so good I didnt mind. We also tried the salmon chowder which was also delicious. It is on the thicker side of chowder if you're into that. My review is solely on espresso. I ordered two americanos. They were made quickly and tasted ok. I'm not sure what coffee they use. I think my espresso standards are pretty high.
