Entree of the day- noodle bowl. Very bland and boring, unfortunately
    Karen P.

Gorgeous décor! This is a beautiful, soothing, relaxing place to have lunch EXCEPT that what I ordered wasn't good. But I love the atmosphere so much, that I'll return and try different food. The special entree of the day, an Udon noodle bowl, was so boring and bland. I added salt, pepper, and Tabasco sauce but it still wasn't enough. More veggies and some protein, like tofu or chicken in my opinion, would have really helped. It was only $7.95, so at least I didn't pay a lot for mediocre food.

Talk about customer service! The manager specifically (don't know by name) seems like he's ALWAYS there no matter the day/time - and he always has a smile on his face and a warm greeting and takes the best care of customers from start to finish. There was an older couple in front of me in line one evening and they were a little slower, not exactly sure what they wanted, and the manager was behind the counter just patiently, calmly letting them take their time to make their decisions, and spoke very politely to them. It warmed my heart. No matter if I was in a hurry or not - the manager apologized to me for my wait when I finally got up to order & I applauded him for his patience with the customers and he need not apologize. I late get up to pay, the older man from earlier is now moving slow at the register as well - and again the manager and staff didn't rush him, or put me in front of him just to get me out of the way / they took the time as they should always do with every customer - no matter who it is! So THANK YOU for comping my entire meal that day - you're the BOMB!!!!

When we told her it was our first visit to the restaurant, she took the time to carefully go over the menus with us (regular, happy hour, and drinks), providing her recommendations when we asked. Her guidance was spot-on-target! For drinks, I had a Mindful Chai and my friend had the 3-Beverage Flight (Golden Hour, Heart Says Thanks, and Tres Raices). My chai was the BEST I have ever tasted (and I order chai every chance I get!), and my friend loved her 3 drinks (she said Tres Raices was her favorite). For our food, we split an order of the Not Queso Dip and the Avocado Tostadas. We were both very impressed by how fresh the ingredients were, and the blend of flavors in each dish that created a unique and yummy taste. The Kitchen has an open, airy layout that inspires deep breathing, while the arrangement and spacing of tables still provides for intimacy of conversation and minimal ambient noise. Sofhia checked back with us several times during our meal to ensure we had everything we needed and were thoroughly enjoying our food and drink (we were!). It was a delightful meal, and we thank Sofhia, the kitchen staff, and everyone at Whole Harvest Kitchen for such a lovely time. We'll be back!!

Unfortunately, the experience with the hostess and the manager completely changed our overall impression. Every time I've come here, I've gotten off-putting vibes from the hostess, Nancy (older woman with short gray hair), and this visit confirmed it. We were told there would be a 10-minute wait for an outdoor table, which was totally fine. When we were seated, it was at the far end where it was quite windy. Not a huge issue, but I did notice two open tables with heaters nearby. Thinking ahead, I tried to see if we could move to one of those tables. While I was looking for someone to ask, another party was seated at one of them, leaving just one open. When I finally found a hostess, she told me I needed to speak with Nancy. Nancy then told me I'd have to wait another 10 minutes for that table--which seemed odd, but I agreed. I stepped aside to wait, and she immediately seated another party at the exact table I had just asked about. That was frustrating and honestly felt dismissive. We were then seated at another table without a heater, and we decided to just move forward and enjoy our evening. We ordered drinks and appetizers and planned to possibly play Mahjong if it seemed appropriate. We were very mindful not to take up a table unnecessarily, so before starting, we asked our waitress if it would be okay. She said absolutely. Over the next couple of hours, we ordered drinks, appetizers, and dinner, with our bill totaling around $200. The restaurant had multiple open tables the entire time, and we made sure we were actively dining and not just sitting around. At the end of our meal, the manager, Kirk, came over to deliver our checks and told us that "it's Kansas law that you can't play games at restaurants," but that he would "let it slide this time." This was both confusing and frustrating and this is not true information. We were playing a simple tile-based strategy game. We weren't gambling or playing a drinking game. If it were truly an issue, it should have been addressed when it started--not after we had been there for hours. Additionally, we had explicitly asked our waitress beforehand and were told it was fine. Overall, the inconsistency in communication and the poor handling of the situation left a bad impression. It's disappointing because there are definitely things this restaurant does well, but the customer service experience means we won't be returning.

Didn't realize it was a Chipotle-style fast food joint. The food... well, it is a gyro. Not great, but certainly not bad. The size of your order is a little all over the place. But, cannot really complain about the food. Service - this is a hard one. I feel like people tried to be helpful, but based on the counter and the glass partition, we really just couldn't hear them. I am sure they made suggestions, but again... couldn't hear it. Ambiance - I am not sure how to go here. The industry now seems to take all personality out of buildings, specifically to make them marketable, should you need to change the format of the restaurant/business. While this makes a lot of sense, it also means you end up with a very sterile and industrial building. All in all. This will give you a decent, quick lunch and just over standard pricing. It will NOT give you an experience.

It's a lovely restaurant. It seems a bit out of the way with mostly corporate buildings around. The restaurant has a nice modern aesthetic. I like the purple hyacinths hanging from the ceiling in one area. It was very steady for an off time in the afternoon. First, our server Olivia was amazing! Very attentive and we were extra needy this day so I really appreciate her patience. We even dropped food on the floor. Oops! She was so nice about it and cleaned it up immediately. We had customizations and extra requests. No problem for her! She went above and beyond. I hope she sees this because she was such a joy! The food was also very good. We started with the biscuits and one peach compote and one blueberry. Both were yummy. They were traditional drop biscuits and I love a good biscuit! We also had an order of fried green tomatoes on goat cheese grits. You get 4 very large slices. I could only eat one. The grits were yummy but there were not enough of them in relation to the friend green tomatoes. They were also encased by a sauce. I'm guessing a remoulade. I don't really care for remoulade sauce so I'd have removed it had I known it came with the dish. It really overpowered the goat cheese taste in the grits. The tomatoes were very al dente and I would have preferred them cooked a bit more. The dish was still good but my least favorite and I would normally love anything with those ingredients and fried green tomatoes are a favorite so the remoulade (or whatever it was) sauce was a real problem for me. I would definitely get them again without the sauce because they are great otherwise. But that sauce just overpowers every other flavor! I got the chicken tender dinner and others in my party got the bone in fried chicken. Everyone liked their chicken. The tenders were a big size. 4 of them but I hit 2 meals out of them. Everyone liked the Parmesan rosemary potatoes. I really liked the bacon green beans. The only side we weren't impressed with was the Mac and cheese unfortunately. The cheese was not good. We got coffees and a chai. All of them were very good. A bit pricey for the amount you get though. Even with the smaller complaints, I'd still give th a 5 because of the outstanding service and the dishes were overall very good and large portions. We will definitely return and I hope to try out a breakfast item next visit!

I was expecting it to be super loud but it was not bad at all. Next time I definitely would like to sit on their patio that looked fantastic. Food: my friend and I shared a couple items. We started off with seasonal drink which was a strawberry mimosa and oh my these were delicious. Fruit forward and refreshing. Next we had fried green tomatoes which you rarely find in KC so I was excited. These were done very differently but so good. Breading was crispy and not overly flavored so you could still taste the tomato. Next we had their shrimp and grits. This is why they did not get a 5 star. The shrimp tasted like frozen shrimp from the grocery store. The grits were just ok honestly it was missing something. We make this dish at home and I probably have too high expectations. Also it was served in cast iron and the cast iron skillet was in bad shape as well. Service: our server was very good. Prompt and friendly.
