I've tried bibibop a few times now and I just dont get the hype. So many people rave about it but I can't seem to find anything I like. On my last visit we tried the steak and side of spicy chicken. The steak was SO dry, no amount of sauce was helping it! The chicken was on the salty side but much better than the steak. We got yum yum sauce and sesame ginger and I didn't really care for either. I really like the concept of Bibibop and I love trying all of the different and new flavors they have and seeing which combinations I enjoy. When I was in most recently they had curry chickpeas, and so I had them in my bowl this time and really enjoyed them. It's definitely one of the healthier places for a quick meal which I really appreciate. When I got there they weren't very busy and I saw staff working as well as just standing around behind the order area. Several of the tables were dirty, the trash was overflowing, and there was a large iced tea spill on the beverage area. We stopped into this location for dinner. The restaurant was clean, but I felt like the service was lacking. The young woman who served us seemed irritated to be pulled from the back to take our order. No one was upfront when we first arrived. The food was good, but it was not hot enough. I ate at the Shawnee location a month ago and the temperature was perfect. Also, when I wanted to use the restroom, they require you to ask for a punch code to get into the bathroom door. Believe it or not it was my first time coming here! Visited the OP Mall location. It gave the Chipotle vibe the instant i walked in with the same dinning room set up and line to order. It's a many sizes bowl entree with many toppings and then a protein. You have two salad bases to start, i picked kale as my base. Next is 3 different kinds of rice colors; yellow, purple and white or glass noodles and i choose glass noodles. For the toppings so many to choose from, i did shredded carrots, warm broccoli, chick peas, and black beans. Last is the protein which was larger breaded chicken, smaller cubed roasted chicken or roasted salmon. I picked cubed chicken. You get choice of dressings i picked teriyaki. For the dessert they have a small cookie for $1.50. I noticed on island drink station they also have soup. Along sodas there was many juices and water station with cups already there. Came to this location after the other one in Brookside recently disappointed with dry and stale meat options. We were hoping to try the salmon again, but even here it looked like it had been sitting out for a long time, so we played it safe by ordering Two different types of beef. Overall, the food tasted OK, but nothing to brag about. The lady helping out may not have spoken a lot of English, so it was hard for her to understand some other questions I had for her. Not quite as filling as chipotle but everyone knows their serving sizes are crazy large. Definitely was a nice size lunch. We had gotten the deal where there was a discount if you got a drink and a cookie. I tried the Gluten-free snickerdoodle cookie and it was very good. My only concern about eating here regularly is going to be the sauces. We are a bit of a sauce addicts. I think I will eat here quite a bit as you can. Mix things up and get variety and really do feel good about what you're putting in your body. I do have two wishes though: Wish they offered a more traditional barbecue flavor or, even better, a nice peanut sauce. Also, I wish the app would let you pick multiple servings of the same topping. I do love the healthy food options compared to other nearby places. It is also inexpensive and the food portions are generous. Customer Service: 6/10 The customer service was underwhelming. The employees were not motivated or unenthusiastic but we appreciated their generous portions and when we approached the counter, we were met with, "What do you want?" Eek. It was not bad but it was not great either. If this is my first time, convince me that I should be here! Food: 8/10 I got a build-your-own bowl with white rice, potatoes, chicken, veggies, and teriyaki sauce. The flavor was awesome, the chicken was tender, and the potatoes were seasoned well. Super fast service. Only reason I give 4 stars is that the veggie portions upon first scoop are pretty small, so asking for extra of something basically amounts to a normal sized scoop - I still had room in my small-sized bowl after adding noodles, lots of veggies, and chicken! Bibibop celebrated Kansas City Chief's historic win by offering one free bowl of food per customer on the 9th of February and we're not complaining! The three of us were in a long queue and were able to reach the counter within 15 minutes. A lot of people decided to make the most of the free bowl sunday promotion offered by one of the most promising new joints. The servers were great and quickly filled up our bowls with a choice of noodles/purple rice/white rice, protein and accompaniments. The noodles were exceptional! The food was great and the best part of the evening was just looking at the free miso soup counter. It's very gracious of these guys to be offering free soup! We came home and happily ate our food with the additional sauces that we filled up ourselves (there's a sauce counter just beside the free miso soup counter). Henceforth when I get asked if I come here often I will have to say yes. It's a bright happy space and the staff is "all in" on making you feel welcome and making sure you love your meal. Customize away! Choose your own base, protein, veggies and sauces. It only takes about 2 minutes to walk the assembly line and pay so don't be discouraged if there's a line, it'll go quickly. Japchae noodles were a revelation. Not as chewy as rice noodles, and they go so well with all those toppings. I recommend drizzling with gochugang and yum yum sauce, that's my hot tip. It is too confusing coming in person and feeling rushed! You will get a better bowel online! They do have very good customer service if you have a problem with your bowel. They asked me what I wanted for a base, or something, and I had no idea. I came here because it was advertised as 100% gluten free, which is rare to find--And awesome! My daughter has to have gluten free everything; so I can get a big bowel here, and put the leftovers in her thermos for lunch at her school for a few days.
