    Farmer Salad with fresh bread
    Stephanie P.

Excellent experience dining in Cafe Trois Northvale. Although a small cafe, the quick service and quaint atmosphere make for a great space for a cup of coffee and/or brunch. I loved my cappuccino and farmer's salad. My sister ordered an omelette with home fries. I took home a chocolate croissant and it was delicious! Can't wait to come back here.

While it may be a rather bland adjective, "nice" is pretty appropriate for this cafe. It's also a "good" spot to hang out in, with some items that feel similar to a Paris Baguette, except they make some foods to order. For its size, they have a decent menu with various teas, coffees and smoothies; a few sandwiches, salads and soups; omelets and French toast/waffles; and breads, pastries, and cookies: everything was pretty mainstream. We enjoyed the fluffy trois omelet which allows you to choose two toppings and comes with salad and fresh bread. Matcha lattes were also good and unsweetened! The orange brioche pastry was enjoyable but a little too sweet on top for me. Service was nice as well, nothing to complain about. You order at the counter and they bring your food to you. They have a small parking area on its side and back that can get busy. If it gets busy, finding street parking seems doable. And the main road Livingston gets quite busy so when you leave, turning left may be a pain. Nearby has plenty of grocery stores, gas, foodstuffs, etc.

So glad we decided to go to this quaint spot this morning! Food was amazing and the staff was very kind as well. The cocoa mocha latte was the best coffee I've had in a while. Give them a try!!!

Avocado toast with egg, strawberry matcha, breakfast trois, creme brulee coffee

Great experience! My bf and I will definitely be coming back. We got crème brûlée hot coffee, strawberry matcha, trois breakfast, and avocado toast with eggs. Everything was phenomenal (best avocado toast I've ever had). And the cafe was so nice, we got a cute seat by the window and it was just overall a great experience. Quick service and nice workers as well.

Busy cafe chock full of delicious food and coffee. I had the smoked salmon omelette - the eggs were fluffy and perfectly cooked. The side salad was lightly dressed and the baguette slice that accompanied it was so delicious that it did not need butter

Is Cafe Trois worth the hype, or overpriced? click on this doc to see my view on Cafe Trois. I will talk about a few dishes, some are; the strawberry croissant, french toast, olive bread, sparkling lemonade, and a few more! Chocolate almond pastry and egg tart. SOOOOOOO GOOOD!!!!
    Jen W.

Everything was good! But wow that egg tart was exceptional. Most cultures have a version of the egg tart, and this is what you want it to taste like. The crust was light and flaky, not lardy and dry. The filling was creamy and smooth. The chocolate almond croissant was also very good. Service was friendly, the shop is clean and cute. I have nothing bad to say. I would love to try one of everything. When you want a pastry to taste like a fantastic pastry, not something that looks pretty but tastes like cardboard, I'm all for French bakeries these days, where good taste is consistent. This shop nailed it. Very much worth a visit.

Drove past Cafe Trois for many years now, we finally stopped and gave it a try! Lots of pastries and delicious looking desserts. We tried a couple different croissants, my wife really enjoyed the matcha, I had the Nutella, which was missing the Nutella inside. We also had the Cafe coffee brand, it was just okay. It's really annoying when an employee decides that they need to mop the floor with bleach when your sitting in the place trying to eat. Very frustrating inhaling the sent while eating. The girl at the register was rather unsociable and not friendly at all.

First time here with lunch takeout for 14! Great place with fresh, tasty, and quality food. Prices definitely on the higher end. Ordered Croque Madame for myself and it was quite enjoyable! Service was pleasant with Simone & Lexi handling the lunchtime crowd. Definitely worth checking out if you haven't been. I look forward to going back!

I absolutely fell in love with Cafe Trois after my visit! The menu consists of a good variety of brunch items, coffee, pastries, and to go sammies. The place itself isn't like a large restaurant. It's a simple café, with limited seating. The parking lot surrounding the café is also limited, but street parking is available of course. Their coffee is amazing. It's very bold, strong, and delightful. I hear their honey lavender latte is a contender as this was a hit at our table. The portions are just right, food was nice and hot, plated ever so lovely, and prices were very reasonable. I've had some French onion soup, and theirs was the best I've had in some time. Top 3, I'd like to say! A must try here if you are a French onion connoisseur. The staff is ever so friendly and knowledgeable of their menus and drinks. They have menus provided, and you may order at the counter when you're ready. I would dock half a star just for how tight this place can get, and where to put your dirty dishes. There's a place on the counter your place them, but it's not a direct area. If someone is free, they can help scoop them up for you. Other than that, it's a great place for breakfast, brunch, or to grab a tasty pastry and coffee!

Would this place be able to accommodate a table of 8?

They have small tables that seat between 2-4 people each, but they are close together.

    Is there Parking?

They have a small parking lot, but if you go during peak hours you might not find parking. I've parked on the street in those instances.

The restaurant is beautiful and has great views. The service was outstanding. Our waiter was friendly and attentive. Most of us had different whole fish. I had a sea bass which they served whole and deboned. It was fresh and delicious. My daughter had the skirt steak which was well seasoned and cooked perfectly. They did a really nice celebration when the birthday desert was served. It was an excellent day and I will definitely be back. I highly recommend.

We had never been there and he knew from asking on greeting us. After placing our meal order he told us we needed to modify it because a main entree was required for the table we had reserved by the water. (BTW, that specification wasn't on the online reservation request, but whatever). He proceeded to edit out the items he thought we didn't want to eat, and instead of backing off to let us make new selections and returning, he stayed at the table and told us to "just order" the recommended fish of the evening. The junior waiter was way more attentive and kind to us than this jerk. Food was ok, little under seasoned. Won't be returning. ADA note: This place doesn't seem very wheelchair accessible - tight corners trying to get around the dining room tables, there is a step up at the main door and then again to get up to go towards the bar/main dining area. Ladies room doesn't seem large enough to accommodate a wheelchair either.
