After driving pass this place for years, finally got a chance to dine here for lunch. They have a huge parking lot and the beautiful building sits right in the middle. The inside of the restaurant also pretty, all seemed so new, must have been renovated recently. Their menu was huge, had so many different types of breakfast, lunch and regular entree dishes. I ordered the Ruben with pastrami. It came with salad (replacing fries for extra charge) and coleslaw. I liked the sandwich, pastrami was good. But the coleslaw was awful, I could just taste the cabbage. I got to try salmon as well. It was a much better dish. Very nicely grilled and had excellent flavor as well. The fresh squeezed orange juice was good too. The staff were friendly. Even though the restaurant wasn't busy, it took them about 20 minutes to serve our meals. This is a very quirky diner. The decor is a bit off, the patrons look like long time supporters. The staff is very nice and attentive. The menu is overflowing with options. I had a tuna melt, it was really good. The waffles fries are also really good. You can also order cappuccinos here which is different for a diner. Usually you can only order regular coffee. We got the sampler, a salad, steak. The servers were great! We sat outside since we had dogs and it was raining. But they never complained coming to serve us our food and menu. Pretty solid diner food with a less dinery atmosphere and welcoming/friendly staff. We came here with a large party right before the diner closed and they did not turn us away. We put our orders in and to my surprise everything came out super quick! I Got an avocado chicken wrap with French fries when I was here and absolutely loved the fries, they were crispy, crunchy and just perfect! The wrap was standard fair but big in size. My husband got the Cuban panini which came with a side of tostanos (smashed and fired plantains). By far this was the biggest and welcome shocker for a diner and I kept saying bravo to state line for thinking of doing that as a fry for a side with that panini. First of all, I love the fact that these overly embellished times they still bill themselves as a "family restaurant" and not some hideous "gastropub" or some unctuous "farm to table" abomination that makes proximity to the Nyack food corridor a disposable trend graveyard. By contrast, State Line will never ask what form of "protein" you prefer when chicken or turkey will suffice. Breakfast fare here is uniformly excellent punctuated by tasty sandwiches and burgers for those who don't crave an omelette 24/7. I came here for breakfast on a Sunday morning with a group of 4 people. We sat outside. We ordered the Belgian waffle, the French toast, the pancakes, and the California omelette. We also all got coffee. The waffle was okay, not very memorable. The French toast was a bit soggy. The pancakes were okay, not very fluffy though. The California omelette was very mushy. The accompanying hash browns were also mushy and not crispy at all. The portions were large and reasonably priced. Service was fast and friendly. I've been to this restaurant twice now and I'm afraid I feel like I need to warn people. I started my visit last night by asking that my sticky table be cleaned (they seem to have a reputation for excellent pancakes, so that would explain it) but even after asking to have it wiped down it was still sticky! Anyway, I ordered a chicken sorrentino dinner and a chicken francaise dinner to go. The sorrentino was awful. The cheese on top was two slices of I don't know what, but they were thick and only partially melted. The prosciutto was just not good, probably cheap and in the frig a long time. The linguini was OK, but the red sauce was straight out of a can and alo obviously cheap. Now cheap is OK if you know you're getting cheap and it's cheap, but this dinner was $28. For the record, my wife's francaise was hit quite as bad, but not good enough to finish. I'll never go back. read more

The service was impeccable. We arrived around 2 on a busy Sunday. There were 3 of us, 2 ordered the Bloody Mary. A very nice Presentation, but missing flavor. When we asked for a side of horse radish and added it to the drink it was 100% better. Two of us ordered the Eggs Benedict. Eggs were cooked perfectly, but the sauce was bland. It needed more Lemon. Aug 2023, came here for Breakfast which was ok. They are renovating the inside of the restaurant, and in my opinion it needs to be renovated. First of all most of the wooden tables have a permanent stickiness to them. When you tried to move the paper placemats they did not move. Honestly, it was too funny we were thinking if we sat at the table long enough we would stick to the table. The service was fine,and food came out quickly. I wanted to order one Pouched Egg and I was told I couldn't order one Egg, I had to order Two Eggs. I thought that was strange, I never heard that I couldn't order one Egg. My grandma and I love to come to state line for our breakfasts together! We generally stick to our usual orders wherever we go; eggs over medium, pancakes & extra crispy bacon for her, and an omelette with mushrooms, tomatoes, avocado, & cheese for me. Updating my previous review from 2021. I order take out from this restaurant often and unfortunately while the food is good, they just can't seem to get my orders right. I've had several orders where items I paid for are missing. I believe this is due to the fact that it is so damn noisy in the background when you call that the person taking your order is constantly asking you to repeat what you said. I recently ordered 3 sandwiches and a desert for me and some coworkers. It was over $50, they forgot my desert and things that the restaurant used to include like napkins, plastic utensils or even ketchup for my french fries were not included with my order. I ordered a yummy and well-portioned ~$10 California Omelette, which consisted of sauteed mushrooms, avocado, scallions, tomatoes, a touch of garlic, melted jack and cheddar cheese. The omelette came with hashbrowns and toast on the side, and I also tried their fresh-squeezed orange juice (really good!). Took my best friend to dinner there last night. We arrived at 8pm. We were seated in a booth and some menus were placed on the table. Disturbingly, picking up each menu was nauseating, because they were stuck to the table top. The waiter was quick to take our order, and offered fresh bread and butter. We agreed, but he never delivered the bread. A second waiter offered us garlic bread, and we accepted and it was okay, nothing to write home about. We chose salads instead of soup, but after three gnats/fruit flies hopping on the plates, it became more nauseating. We ordered the chicken francaise and the chicken cordon bleu. The Francaise portion was small, but the sauce was good. The cordon bleu was dry and served over undressed linguine. I'm glad I brought some paper towels, and I used them to cover the table top, because even my cell phone got stuck to the table. The waiters were not attentive, and considering it was a Friday night, we hoped for better. We didn't finish our entrees, and we were given boxes to pack up and take home. Unfortunately, even though we ate less than half of the food, we both felt sick to our stomachs afterwards. However, in the past, I have ordered delivery from this restaurant, and the food that was delivered was very good. If you are interested in dining out, I cannot recommend this establishment because it is unsanitary and the wait staff obviously are not happy with their jobs. I can only recommend ordering takeaway; do not waste your time eating in this establishment. It's gross and diners are ignored and condescended by the staff. read more

We happened to be in the area on Father's Day and decided to try State Line based on the positive reviews. When we walked in, I asked the host if he recommended anything. Did they have a specialty that they are particularly proud of? I was shocked when he said Paella. I was feeling adventurous and decided to go with the Paella. Not only was it fresh and delicious, the staff was also wonderful! Nancy was our waitress and she was helpful with making menu selections and extremely personable and friendly.
