I couldn't find any on the streets, so I parked in the structure next door. The inside is small with two large communal tables and chairs. The young woman working was friendly and suggested the haupia chocolate with cold brew. This was delicious! I also had a strawberry mochi which hit the spot. I ended up sitting outside which is shared with the wall climbing company. It was interesting to watch some of the people climbing and it looked like it could be fun. I can't believe I've been passing this place and not trying them because my coffee today was so so good!!! They are a cute small coffee shop that's located with Hill Climb (rock climbing) they have cute painted walls in their shop and they display all their yummy baked goods. I love that they have local desserts. I got their iced sea salt Mac nut mocha from their specialty menu and it was a 9/10. So so good. I got a large and it was only $7 something and it came with 3 espresso shots. A perfect amount to feel the coffee and taste the yummy flavors at the same time. I've walked by this place every time I get my nails done at the Beauty Barn but only took note of the climbing wall and workout area next to the cafe. This time I decided to stop in before going to the BB. There was one customer in front of me so I took the opportunity to check the place over. I loved the wall murals and the nice wooden tables and benches as well as the huge selection of beverages on the overhead menu. Their coffee tastes a little watered down, and I just came here I ordered a cold brew with oatmilk and you could visibly see clumps in it. When I asked the server about the drink she told me thats how oatmilk should look like... which I've never seen in other drinks before? My favorite thing from here is actually the turkey sandwich. I will eat that sando for breakfast OR lunch! I have taken it home and added a poached egg - you know, for extra. Yum! Menu includes all the standard cafe items with milk alternatives for all my lactose besties, but as a tea lover I was impressed with her specialty iced teas - Hibiscus Pineapple Lychee - Blueberry Lavender Butterfly - Lemon Balm Kiwi With a super cute plaque with each item in detail I just had to try the Blueberry Lavender Butterfly...unsweetned and what a cool sip it was! Dining in is served in reusable tableware is absolutely refreshing as I didn't think of bringing in my own glass and the color itself we giggled matched the octopus wall art and it truly was an art indeed. I came to HiClimb so I obviously had to checkout Cafe Villamor, which is connected to the climbing gym. I'm so glad I did because Kyla (owner) & Gabriel were so sweet and down to earth. Service was amazing and ambience was very welcoming. There's some seating inside but I definitely see it more as a grab & go place. I tried a few things on the menu: - Wildflower honey latte w/ oat milk (5/5) - This is probably the best honey latte I've tried on the island so far - Mango banana bread (5/5) - Super delicious, but the mango flavor was definitely not as a potent as I thought it'd be. The bread itself was super moist, but don't forget you can ask for it toasted for the optimal experience - Matcha latte (3.5/5) - Wasn't my most favorite matcha latte but it was decent for what it was, probably would stick to the coffee The major thing that would deter me is probably the parking situation. Cafe Villamor is located inside of HIClimb, the indoor rock climbing gym They have a variety of coffee, protein smoothies, acai bowls, open-faced bagels and a few baked treats. The owner, Kyla was SO cute and sweet and answered all of our questions. We got the Sea Salt Macnut Mocha that's on special and the hot matcha latte, along with the turkey pesto bagel, koko head acai bowl and mango banana bread. I got the matcha unsweetened and loved it - it is quite bitter so if you're used to the starbucks lattes, def get it with sweetener haha the special sea salt macadamia mocha was a little too salty for us and didn't have as strong of a chocolate/mac nut flavor as we would've liked the turkey pesto bagel looked a bit underwhelming but the flavors were amazing! the pesto cream cheese had so much flavor and the turkey on top was the perfect saltiness. i wished the koko head acai bowl came with honey cause i felt like it lacked just a touch of sweetness. But they give a generous scoop of protein peanut butter, banana, and strawberries, and it's sprinkled with cacao nibs and granola. AND THE MANGO BANANA BREAD dude that was so good. she toasted it perfectly so that the edges were nice and crispy, and since it's made with mochi flour, it had a perfect soft and chewiness to it. It was so good I asked her if I could buy a loaf (and i did! $32). The service was great, food and drinks were quite good as well, and while there are only two tables and a few seats along the window, everyone kinda just came and went, probably because they were in between sessions at the rock climbing gym, so you probably won't have too much trouble finding seating. And the drinks were absolutely the worst. I should have listened to the reviews about the watered down flavor. Whatever coffee grounds they use isn't good either. $18+ for two drinks that my wife and I could only take two sips before throwing it away. Complete waste of time and money. After our OrangeTheory class, we were on the hunt for açaí bowls. My partner had found this place on Yelp and we decided to stop by. Cafe Villamor is located adjacent to HiClimb. It's owned by the most amazing woman, Kyla. Kyla was so warm and welcoming. We were there pretty early and she was running the place on her own. She took her time making conversation with us and just made us feel like we were her longtime friends. There was everything from coffee, protein smoothies, baked goods, and açaí bowls. Unlike some other smoothie places, I didn't feel like I was eating sugar or some other concentrated juice. Everything was fresh, healthy, and so, so delicious. I wish I had gotten a photo of our açaí bowl. She stacked our sliced strawberries like a mountain and poured a homemade coconut butter syrup over it to look like a waterfall. The matcha latte came unsweetened since it was made with high quality matcha powder. It had an amazing smooth flavor, and after my first sip, I really wished I had ordered a large instead of a small. The pesto cream cheese toasted bagel was also stunning. The pesto flavor came through really well and they gave a generous thick amount of cream cheese on top so I definitely felt that the dish was worth the money. We got a wildflower honey latte with a mango banana bread and mochi brownie. The latte tasted like a watered-down vanilla latte and sadly I couldn't taste the wildflower honey at all. The mochi texture of the mango banana bread was chewy but there wasn't any mango flavoring to accompany the banana; just tasted like plain ol banana bread. The brownie though was the most disappointing of all because it just didn't have enough of a brownie flavor. The food was pretty average but the ambience was real cool though. I forgot the name but it was yum. I found out after I ordered that it had whey protein in it (all my fault for not asking) but that they do have a vegan option. What made it stand out for me? #1 super nice people running the place #2 acai was sitting in an appliance that I understood to be an ice cream churner which means to me - it's freshly made! In search of the perfect local coffee shop, I walked 3 miles to get to Café Villamor. I go to the counter, order coffee and a toasted bagel, and have a seat. The coffee lid was so tight I had to spend some time getting it off, burned my hand a bit, and kept blowing on it to get it to cool off. Just then the staff people said they were closing. At 11 am! There was no conspicuous sign announcing the closure, and they had taken my order 5 minutes before closing and demanded a tip without telling me there would be no time to enjoy the coffee and breakfast. They never asked if I wanted it to go. The bagel arrives and it is way too hot to eat. I managed to get in a few sips of coffee and a bite of the bagel but burned my tongue and the roof of my mouth--in addition to the burnt fingers. The staff people rudely demanded that I leave, treating me like a delinquent junior high school student smoking in the bathroom. I don't know who the staff people are, but they are the rudest people I've encountered in decades. I had to leave everything on the table and explained I had no way of carrying it.
