My eldest daughter and I were debating on which restaurant to eat at while parked in the Claremont Village. Btw, there is a parking structure available just around the block near the Claremont Packing House. So happy our restaurant of choice was Cafe X2O. This place is quite spacious with a very quaint and romantic ambiance. They also have outside patio seating in the front and back of the restaurant. Bar stool seating is also available. They have a big enough space to hold parties and events for sure. We now have dined here and our experience was unforgettable! Let's do a play by play... Upon entry, we weren't necessarily greeted right away, but eventually someone welcomed us and told us to sit wherever we like. Our server, Sofia, gave us the menus and offered some recommendations. This place has a nice balance on the color decor. It's very casual and it could be a little loud. I do have to say, the servers are not as attentive as the ones in the Monrovia location. The rice was perfect - savory, fluffy perfect bedding for the Lamb Chops. My Lamb Chops had a beautiful balance of grilled and juicy, succulent. Salad was crisp and refreshing - so was my beer LOL Baba ghanouj and hummus was delicious as well. Overall I highly recommend this place. This restaurant has been in Claremont for a few years now, and I'm just getting around to giving it a try. We ate there with eight family members, and we thought there would be leftovers for the next day. However, as things turned out, the food was so good that there was one very small container left over. We went with the family meal for most of the group and another plate for my wife and me as we are vegetarian. The food was excellent and the service was first class. The best thing was that all the food was ready at the same time, so there was no waiting for a meal while the other gets cold. We will definitely be eating there again soon. read more

We stopped in for dinner after an appointment since we were in the area. The food was good, and the portion sizes were generous and easy to share. Unfortunately, our experience was overshadowed by an accident that occurred during our meal. The chair my husband was sitting on gave out due to a weak or broken back leg, causing him to fall to the floor. Thankfully, he wasn't injured, but it could have been much worse. We were dining with our baby, and the thought of what could have happened if my husband had been holding the baby at the time is honestly terrifying. The same goes for an elderly guest or anyone with limited mobility. A staff member did apologize and mentioned this was the first time something like this had happened, which I certainly hope is true. However, beyond that initial apology, we felt the incident was not handled with the level of care or concern we expected. Nothing was offered to make up for what happened... not even a small gesture or partial comp on our meal. Because of the way the situation was handled, we don't feel comfortable returning. We were seated and taken care of by Isso and his team, who provided excellent service from start to finish. The food arrived promptly, within about 15 minutes.
