This place is an all time favorite of mine, I'd love to bring people here. My favorite thing of all time is the grilled chicken kebab plate, and I ask for a side of feta. It is $5, which seems like a lot for a side of cheese, but they give you so much fresh grated feta on the plate, I couldn't even complain. Service here is great, they have some nice misters for when it's hot and you wanna sit outside and smoke hookah. Food comes out pretty fast, though there can be sometimes be wait to get in. Came here for lunch on a Friday afternoon and it was really crowded. Luckily, someone in my party made a reservation, so we were seated quickly, but not sure how long the wait would've been if we didn't have one. When we were sat at our table, we were told of all the top recommendations. There was slight pressure to order drinks and appetizers (which I am more sensitive to because I don't like feeling pressured to order based on someone else's preference). I glanced into the parking lot and saw this sign about the *lunch special* so I asked our server about it. He rushed through explaining it and there was a tone in his voice as if he didn't want me to get it because it was cheaper than other dishes. I ended up getting it anyway because it sounded good and in line with what I was craving. When the food came, every dish looked amazing and the taste matched! It was SO GOOD. When we were about to pay for our meal, someone in my party read on the sign that the lunch special was supposed to come with a drink. I wasn't informed when I originally asked about the special, so when I asked another server who happened to be passing by, and he gladly said he would package one to go for me. I was pleased by this gesture, but I also was disappointed that I was not made aware of it when I asked about the lunch special to begin with. The patio isn't large so it did feel a little crammed, especially with those doing hookah. I am sensitive to smoke and felt like I was getting second hand smoke sitting so close to it. Don't get me wrong, the food here was soooo good. It is probably one of the best MidEastern food places in La Verne, but I did take issue with the indirect shaming us for not ordering more expensive meals. Half of our party ordered regular priced meals and even got drinks and sides, so I don't like that there was pressure for everyone to do that. And I also did not like that we weren't told about the drink included in our special. To me, it's the principle of getting what I am paying for. Just my two cents. I do have to say it is a little busier than the other places ( that was my experience). The only negative the employees are not as nice or attentive like Monrovia. I have been going to the one in claremont for a few years now but I came for my birthday last year to this one in La verne and I love this place so much. We had an amazing experience at Cafe X2O, first time, and definitely won't be the last time. The grape leaves were full of flavor, the lebne was done right, the babaganoush was smokey and yummy. We shared a family meal and the meat was cooked perfect - chef's kiss! The owner brought over a plate of baklava on the house, so delicious and the gesture was very welcoming. For some reason every time I come to this location specifically the service is the absolute worst. If you plan to eat at this location make sure you plan on staying here for longer than 2 hours. The service is terrible. I went to lunch with my mom and they brought out my plate and didn't bring out my mom's plate for another 15 minutes. When he brought it out, our server says "oh sorry it was just sitting in the back." This is completely unacceptable for any restaurant, let alone a restaurant with good reviews. I know the owner and love his family, but the service and management here needs to be better. The guy with glasses always looks like he's in a bad mood. This shouldn't be the face that serves your customers. I don't care if the servers are serving too many tables. It's your job and therefore I won't ever leave a tip. Chicken kabob is the only good thing here but not worth the hassle of dealing with incompetence. read more

Everything was fresh, full of flavor, and the hummus was so good I was considering licking the plate... but I behaved (mostly). Cafe X20 is a great spot if you're looking for quality Mediterranean food and some hookah. We went here a few weeks ago with cousins for a late night dinner and to chill for the night. The restaurant was popping! There was a bit of a wait time but you just need to add your name to Yelp tablet. The location itself if very big! There's music playing, TVs around the restaurant and bar and hookahs at the tables if that's your vibe. We were sat pretty quick only waited about 10-15 minutes but we arrived before 9PM. We ordered bunch of Sujuk Boreg, which is basically beef and cheese pastry pies. Those were my favorite! Hot, fresh and crispy! Good for the table. We also shared a beef shawarma wrap which was solid. We also ordered some coffee and desserts to end the night. That Ashta and Knafeh Cheese Cake were perfection! Check out the pics! The servers for the night were admirable. They were very attentive even though it gets hectic and busy at the end of the night. No complaints. STRANGE, A resturant that dosen't take phone orders. We are frequent customers at Cafe X20 and have been coming here for many years. I called Cafe X20 La Verne last night to make a To-Go order and was told they don't take phone oders, I let him know that we eat there often, he told me I had to go online to order the La Verne Special, I thought that was strange, so I called back and asked for the manager and was told he is off today. Humm... a resturant where the manager is off with no assistant manager there to override. He told me would call the manager to ask for an override and would call me back. Guess what? no call back. I used to come here regularly, but today was the last time. Mainly because of the man with glasses, who seems to be the manager or the owner. It's a shame that, with such a great staff, they have someone so rude and arrogant serving customers. I've never experienced service like this anywhere else in the area. The moment he came to our table and greeted us with "bro," it already felt unprofessional. But what really crossed the line was when he asked if I wanted another beer and, before I could even answer, interrupted me with, "Yes or no?" That was disrespectful and completely unacceptable. It's unfortunate because this is a nice place with a great patio, and the rest of the staff has always been friendly and professional. But one person can ruin the entire experience. I'm a local, and I used to bring friends and new people here all the time. After what happened today, I won't be coming back. It was honestly a very unpleasant experience. There was a complete misunderstanding between my wife and me regarding the gratuity charge. I thought it had been applied, but I was wrong. Manager Mo personally called me back (just as his assistant promised) and we quickly cleared it up. I was not charged gratuity on the pickup order -- that's why I'm updating and correcting my original post. Mo also shared how frustrated he is that Square won't let him remove the gratuity option for pickup orders. He believes customers shouldn't be charged gratuity on takeout. He mentioned that when placing online orders, you now have the option to simply select "No" for gratuity. I sincerely apologize to the entire team at X20 for my earlier comments. I'm grateful Mo took the time to resolve this so professionally and stood behind his brand. Thank you again, Mo -- your integrity and great service mean a lot. Quality is also consistent everyone. I have eaten at a lot of different Mediterranean food spots in all areas and the café X2O in La Verne is by far my favorite. Staff are friendly, vibes are fun, and the manager (Moe) is always on site and accommodating. I have yet to bring someone here for a meal that didn't agree. My go to meal is the lamb shawarma with rice, salad, spicy lebni, and spicy humus. The garlic sauce is also great and doesn't have that strong lingering aftertaste either. read more

We had a very enjoyable dinner here the other night. Highly recommended by one of my brothers who lives nearby, Cafe X20 has terrific Lebanese eats. Service was very friendly and attentive and the Kebab Combo for Two that my friend and I shared was delicious. It comes with steak, chicken, and kafta kebabs, with rice pilaf and grilled zucchini and Roma tomato. The platter was more than enough for us and we still had leftovers. Tucked into a shopping center in La Vern, Cafe X20 is an authentic Mediterranean cuisine with a hooka bar. This is my Second time to visit Cafe X20 in La Vern and happy to say it was just as delicious as the first time. Today we started with a baba ghanoush which comes with a fresh pita. The baba ghanoush is tasty and beautifully prepared. My friend ordered the Greek Salad which was equally beautiful in its presentation with the reddest bell peppers, crispest greens and served on a large bowl. We also shared a chicken & jalapeno flatbread which was delicious. With ordering appetizers we decided to skip the chicken kebab plate this time and order an ala cart order of Chicken Kababs with a side of their amazing garlic paste!
