Are you kidding me? This place is amazing! I absolutely LOVE Argentine cuisine, and spent much of my adulthood living there. The problem is, there are very, very few great Argentine restaurants in the US. This is one though. The Lomito Completo is one of the 2 best Argentine steak sandwiches I've had outside of Argentina, and truly would be one of the better options in Argentina. The chimichurri is also outstanding. Cafecito is a solid pick for brunching and lunching in Santa Fe. I basically always get the Argentine Steak Salad because it is tasty, fresh and delicious. Great baked empanadas and tomato soup! I lived in South America and it was a great reminder of the food. Yum.

Beautiful little place with delicious pastries, savory entrees, and great service (and wi-fi offered for those who want to have tea/coffe with their pastries and do some work/studying). I decided to do all of the above: dinner, have a pot of tea, and get some work and studying done. For dinner, I intially got the Classic Empanada Special. This comes with two classic empanada of your choosing and a cup of soup fo the day. The soup of the day was their corn chowder -- and this was a 6 out of 5!! It was so good that I had to get a second Empanada Special for another cup of soup and two more empanadas. So in total, I got four empanadas and 2 cups of soup. I opted to pay the extra dollar for one specialty empanada -- the Argentine steak. The other three were classic: spinach with ricotta, ham and cheese, and cheese and onions. Each Empanada special also comes with their delicious and aromatic chimichurri sauce. All the empanadas were great, but my favorite was the steak one. They're packed with melted cheese that stretches, the pastry were buttery and crispy. And their piping hot! For dessert I got the Dulce De Leche (rolled crepe with banana, dulce de leche, and mixed berries) per recommendation of my waitress. She and the dessert did not disappoint. The crepe was soft and didn't have the eggy taste. The fruits were also fresh and tasted great with the dulce de leche. I also asked for a Pepe, one of their cookies. My waitress forgot about it so she gave me one pepe and a pasta frola free of charge! And to digest everything, I got a pot of their green tea. The cortado was well done, I liked the spinach and ricotta empanadas. Chimichurri very good. The menu seemed more oriented at the North American taste ( understandable of course) but in the future I would like to see a menu that includes a good asado with chorizo/morcilla. Ordered a Chilaquiles and House Coffee. This was my first time trying something called this even though I have heard much about it from colleagues. The sauce was delicious, and the egg was a nice topping. The house coffee was a little bit tart for my taste so after having 1 cup of black, I decided to add cream and sugar. The service was friendly and prompt, and the ambiance had a greenhouse vibe because it seemed to be built into one. We had the melted cheese appetizer (I don't remember what it was called) that came with slightly sweet pita points- line a fondito. My friend had the pasta bolgenese which she said was good and comforting. I had the Milanese flight - pounded and breaded beef, eggplant and chicken with three sauces. The chimichurri was my favorite but all were good. We also split a spinach empanada. All our food was solid but not necessarily remarkable, but the ambiance and service definitely is. The hubs and I popped in here for a quick late lunch. The setting is gorgeous with outside tables and a peaceful feel. I ordered to go; two spinach, a black bean/sweet potato, green chili chicken and a ham/cheese. My favorite by far was the black bean/sweet potato. It was packed with flavor and I wish I had ordered two. The hubs enjoyed the green chili chicken as his favorite. The spinach was probably healthier than other spinach empanadas because it was mostly spinach with not a lot of cheese. Cafecito is a lovely location with great outdoor seating. A friend recommended we try this place and we visited two more times in the same week after that - twice for lunch and once for dinner. We have opted to sit in the front patio space every time. The guests have been friendly and one group struck up a conversation about the food and where they were from. The wait staff was also nice and attentive. We really enjoy the empanadas at this place. Our only regret is that we hadn't found this place sooner and it will become a regular spot for us to visit with friends and enjoy some good food in a nice atmosphere. For brunch I had an iced maté and the Panqueque which are crepes filled with dulce de leche and a whipped cream. This was so delicious and perfect for my sweet tooth. On another visit, I came for an early dinner and had the Milanesa plate. This comes with breaded and fried chicken, beef and eggplant. I kind of wish there was a side of veggies that was included, but I guess I got some greens from the chimichurri lol. The cheese and eggs were just about OK Breakfast Empanada - It's a huge Empanada that is filled with eggs, hash browns ,bacon , pork sausage and provolone and comes with chimichurri and a side salad . The hubby seemed to enjoy it . Dulce De Leche Latte - Delicious Cappuccino- Extremely disappointing. It was more milk and froth and no coffee at all. We happened to find this gem when passing through Santa Fe. It was tucked away but easily accessible with ample parking. Sadly, we got our order to go and missed out on enjoying the lovely set up. They have a dog friendly patio that was nicely shaded while we were waiting, and the indoor area was spacious and cute. Each worker I encountered was extremely friendly. We placed our order at the cash register and waited only maybe 5-8 min for our 2 lattes and 2 empanadas. My husband got a vanilla latte, and I tried their dulce de leche latte. We both really enjoyed our drinks. I was worried mine would be overly sweet, but it wasn't. It was perfect! My husband got the Santa Fe empanada (chicken and chiles), and I got one with spinach and cheese. They were served warm and with a delicious dipping sauce. Soooo good!!!
