I've been here basically once a week for the past month, it's been great. I am just a sucker for their daily Sunday specials (the tahini affogato?? So rich). Obviously I have to say it's my favorite ice cream spot in NYC. Their scoops are also pretty worth considering you get whip cream, 1 drizzle, AND 1 topping included! My first two visits were a little luke warm. They make everything in small bat he's, so if you don't arrive pretty early (outside any time I would normally get ice cream), you are stuck with the good (but not memorable) standard flavors. However on my most recent visit, I got their specialty chocolate pecan pie affogsto sundae...and wow. This was one of the best desserts I have ever had. Came here twice in a week and it was delicious! First time was on a Sunday and queued up about 15min before opening and was second group in line. Pretty toasty in the sun, but the pay off with the soft serve and AC inside was great. Got their rotational soft serve which features olive oil and tomatoes which I liked a lot since it wasn't overly sweet, but my taste a bit weird for others. Came again around 9:10 on a Friday night with a way longer queue. Probably about a 30-40min wait. As long as you get in line before 9:30pm they will let you order, but a decent amount of things we wanted to try were sold out for the day. We ended up getting a triple scoop of Maple Rosemary Shortbread, Aud's Dream, and Cookies n' Panna. They were all pretty good although I think the rosemary shortbread was the best of the bunch. Overall service is friendly and moves at a decent speed. When the line is really long they do offer just pints to expedite. Might consider that next time I go and there's a long line since there were some interesting flavors that weren't available as scoops. When I was in Greenpoint recently, I stopped by Caffe Panna for the first time and was amazed. I went with the Tripla, with the Raspberry Sorbet, Cookies n Panna, and Coffee. Also got the homemade panna (whipped cream) on top, which was good but didn't add much so I'd probably skip that. All three ice cream flavors were delicious but the Cookies n Panna was incredible. Sooooo much better than regular cookies and cream flavors at other ice cream shops. When I arrived on Friday evening around 7pm there was no line and they had all of the flavors in stock! If you're visiting with someone else who you're close with one cost effective option is to get a regular for $9 with two flavors and to each pick a flavor. I'll definitely be back at Caffé Panna! We finally made the pilgrimage on a Sunday evening in August after having dinner nearby. There was a line around the corner, but it moved at a reasonable pace. The wait was not much different than most ice cream shops during prime time. We were both drawn to the soft serve. There was one soft serve option which they called the cookies and cones. It was a creamy and likely vanilla based ice cream with generous amounts of Oreo brittle and chocolate syrup with three small Oreo brittle cones lodged into the ice cream. There were plenty of toppings, so every bite had plenty of syrup and crunchies. Our orders were ready a couple minutes after we placed them. So excited about this new location in Greenpoint! We were walking around the area and decided to stop by for a quick sweet treat before dinner. There was a line but it moved pretty quickly. They have the same classic scoop flavors as the Manhattan location and they also have unique and fun ice cream and soft serve flavors that are announced on their Instagram. The great thing about this location is that there's a space where you can sit and enjoy your ice cream indoors. So excited they opened a new location. Now, it's a bit of a drive but I usually will make a day of it and wander around the area. They opened up the online ordering so if I just want a pint, pre-ordering is a breeze. They have a small room inside with counterspace to eat your treats inside if you choose or a few outdoor tables. I absolutely love the salted caramel on any of the flavors. And adding the panna is a must. My favorite flavor recently has been the Aud's Snack which is the staple flavor Aud's Dream (vanilla peanut butter swirl) plus chocolate covered potato chips. Yes, it's so good.
