I was very disappointed with the portion sizes. My family of 3 all got sandwiches and it was $50. It was definitely not worth $50. We are not from this area so we wanted to try something new and we will not be coming back. The service was great and they were very nice and it was very cute inside but the sandwiches need to be bigger. I wanted to like this place. Frankly, I gave it a second shot after I was unimpressed with the first time. This time I purchased the veggie and hummus wrap and a small cup of what they called stuffed pepper soup. For 14.99, I received a bland wrap with what had to be in entire bags worth of mixed greens, about two or three small pieces of tomato, a sliver of yellow pepper, possibly a couple sticks of carrot, and a smear of hummus. I was able to choke down half of the wrap, and the rest I tossed. The soup was not very warm, had no broth, was exceptionally thick, and seem to be just rice in tomato sauce. I did not finish it either. The servers were friendly, but this is not enough to get me to come back. The ambience with standard coffee shop. Lots of high priced novelty items. read more

Very frustrating experience...I ordered a Rueben sandwich which costs $14...the portion size was just so small and the cashier didn't mention anything. It was genuinely the size of 2 large crackers...no side. I wanted to bring it up to an employee but didn't want to make my girlfriend uncomfortable. Revisited this center of town cafe after not having been there for awhile and love the new look inside, which seems more orderly and easier to place an order at the counter. I just came for a smoothie, but all the sandwiches, cold and hot deli counter selections and especially the baked goods looked great! They also have local farmer market veggies for sale here, including corn on the cob I haven't seen around much this summer. On the other side of the cafe where you can sit are an interesting selection of wines, soft drinks, tea and chocolate. I'm looking forward to returning! I wish their open hours coincided with events at the Palace Theatre that is right next door, because it would be great to grab a bite to eat here and then go to a show. Nice little setup. I keep giving this neighborhood coffee spot 2nd and 3rd chances. Unfortunately it doesn't quite measure up. Ate at the Caffe Market Express in the courthouse and will never eat there again. $3.99 side of fried rice that was mushy and weirdly sweet (not a packet of soy sauce in sight) and a $3.99 dry brick of an egg roll. For the prices, you'd expect the quality to be better but unless this is some money laundering scheme, it won't be around long. read more

This place has always been overpriced.. but if the food is good quality, I don't mind. However, the quality has tanked in the last few years. I had a pittsburgh steak salad today that was almost inedible. The 'steak' was the lowest quality meat that can be bought by a restaurant. It reminded me of the soy burgers that a place called Pechins made in the local area in the 80s. So disgusting it could not be eaten. Old wrinkly tomatoes and a tiny cup of bottled dressing overtop a bed of stemmy spinach. Good desserts, I will give them that. And the market is cute. But I am done buying lunch there. We all stopped on our lunch break, As Seton Hill employees, we love to support and shop small business. We went in, was informed that they open at 11, and typically run out of food around 1, so we rushed down. It wasn't busy when we got there around 11:45, but it was packed when we were leaving. Was quite disappointed they have the Griffin Advantage offer, but do not offer it to employees, which isn't how the program works, I have never had another business in Greensburg deny an employee, but I guess the owner can decide that themselves. A fellow juror and I decided to eat lunch at Caffe Barista and we weren't disappointed. There was a special for a 1/2 sandwich with a side of pasta salad. I chose the Chicken Florentine and Penne pasta salad. The mini hoagie style roll was nice and soft, I'm not exact sure what made up the chicken Florentine mixture but it was superb! The penne pasta was perfectly cooked and mixed with mayo, bacon, cheese and some kind of leafy green. The meal was quite tasty and satisfying and the price was slightly under $8. The staff was friendly and the service was quick. I was so satisfied I was afraid that once I returned to the courthouse I was going to fall asleep. read more

If you are looking for the best breakfast sandwich you've ever had, I ordered the croissant, bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich and was blown away. Absolutely amazing. Great place to study and the desserts are to die for. The cheesecake desserts and ladyfingers are delicious. read more

I've eaten at this spot well over a handful of times. Had it not been the only place to get something quick during work, I'd have stopped at that. The coffee is average at best and well overpriced. The food spread at the counter sits out for hours and I've seen a few flies. For a $12 lunch I'd expect more than half a sandwich and a small cup of fruit. Bakery items are claimed to be made daily, but upon eating a cheese pastry, it was stale and the sugar granules in other pastries made it very apparent that they were not made fresh. The girls that work there are very sweet, however the owner likes to make rude comments when you only decide to order a coffee and not a whole meal. It's really a shame, because it's a prime location beside the courthouse and really has so much potential. read more

Although they do have a great mocha, I had to update this and knock them down a star because they are lacking in customer service. Customer service is ultra important for me anywhere I go, but it's even more important when I haven't had my coffee yet! I went here today and asked if they had any 2% milk for one of the drinks I was getting, and she got out the cups and said, "no, you're having two mochas with skim milk today." Now if this were supposed to be funny, I would maybe utter an awkward giggle, but this woman was serious! I'm sorry, but no one orders me what to order, especially when I don't want what they are ordering me to order. Needless to say, I went over to DV8 Espresso instead, where the lady there was very nice to me. Just hoping the next time I go to Caffe Barista, which won't be for a while, that woman is not working the front again. read more

A cute little place with great food and coffee. Lunch for two (a cup of soup, a slice of quiche, two cups of pasta salad, two lattes, and a turtle brownie) ran about $25. Recently had Café Barista cater a brunch at my home the day after my daughter's wedding. Thirty-five friends and family attended and just raved about the food and the variety. Lisa delivered the food a half-hour before the guests arrived and set everything up. What a great variety of food: two types of quiche (one vegetarian which several guests appreciated), fruit tray, scrambled eggs, bacon and sausage, waffles, hash browns, muffins and delicious pastries. Everything was amazing. I will definitely get Café Barista again to cater my future events. read more

Connected to Caffe Barista is a little place called The Side Bar. I ducked in here early one evening for a quick bite. The owner himself served me and was delightful to talk to. It's a relatively new place with a very inviting and relaxed atmosphere. I loved the appetizers I ordered and will definitely return. read more
