If you live in Uniontown, and you are heading north, there was only one restaurant between us and Pittsburgh. We stopped in around 11 AM. Place was packed. We were seated immediately. The breakfast menu was very good. Hostesses were not very friendly but they were there to turn tables around quickly. My French toast was very good and my wife had the classic and it was also very good. The traffic in and out was very steady. This is a quality place if you want quality food fast. Enjoy!!! read more

Randall's is a family owned restaurant that has been in operation since 1951. It is still owned and operated by the original family. I typically pass thru the Perryopolis area 4 or 5 times a year on my way to Connellsville and I always stop at Randall's. This restaurant is not a fancy place but serves classic diner style food or comfort food. The portions are large, the prices are extremely reasonable, the food and service are both excellent. The lunch/dinner menus include classics like meatloaf, baked ham, pork chops, fried chicken along with assorted hot sandwiches and burgers. They also have a daily special which on Sunday is Stuffed Cabbage Rolls (fantastic). Another special on my last visit was City Chicken (pork and veal on a stick). These are dishes I remember from growing up in Western Pennsylvania and are entrees not found in many restaurants. And -- the only thing better than their food are their desserts - particularly their homemade pies (wide assortment). The service is always excellent and some of the waitresses have been there for years. If you're in the neighborhood (or even close to the neighborhood) you need to try Randall's. We went there for dinner. We ordered onion rings for appetizer and it was great! We ordered two chicken entrees and they were really not that good! The coleslaw (side) was creamy and tasty! A whole bunch of people at my client location this week recommended that I go to this restaurant. They acclaimed this restaurant for its wonderful pies and home-cooked food, so I had to go here. The restaurant is not fancy on the inside or outside, but they make up for it with wonderful service and a wide variety of good food. I went with the cabbage roll that came with a side of mashed potatoes and corn. They also provided me with three slices of fresh bread which was very good. I ended my meal with a slice of coconut cream pie. The pie was good but not like I was expecting. It lacked a lot of sweetness that I'm accustomed to. read more

But there really is only one word to say about this place and that word is PIE. I tried both the Coconut Cream and the Pineapple Cream with Strawberries. Both were absolutely delicious. I've been dining at Randall's for decades. I recently stopped there this past weekend (4/3/21) with my family and we immediately noticed that the menu had changed. Notably, they eliminated the platter/value addition to their sandwiches, hamburgers, etc. It included French Fries (side) and coleslaw at a reasonable price. Nonetheless, we elected coleslaw as a side with our sandwiches without noticing the cost. When the bill arrived it was discovered that it cost $2.50! How does a spoon full of coleslaw cost $2.50?!? Also, the prices on other items were high. I get the COVID "thing", and I'm am very supportive to local businesses, but this is ridiculous. Perhaps after COVID they'll lower their prices... or not, but as long as a spoon full of coleslaw cost $2.50, then we'll never be back. read more

My father-in-law eats here every day of the week. They treat him like family. We eat there when we visit him. The food is very good, the staff are nice. My favorite is the stuffing, turkey and mashed potatoes. My father-in-law's favorite is the broccoli soup. The amount of food is generous-I don't see how anyone could finish the stack of pancakes! The french fries are stacked high. They seem to have a thin layer of breading of some sort and are quite tasty. There's always plenty of meat, the sandwiches are a good size. The main thing I'm not a fan of is the biscuits. Great value since it is inexpensive in the first place! read more

What a great breakfast this restaurant serves. Fast, friendly waitresses, and the food is just like home cooked. I live in Morgantown, and after having breakfast here several years ago, I make the trek up here every 3-4 months. My brother drives down from Pittsburgh and we meet here for breakfast. I have been going to this restaurant ever since I was a little kid, so I have a lot of experience with the restaurant as a whole. I mostly go because I am not the one paying and it is usually suggested by members of my family. If you are looking for a place to eat that has average food than this is the place, there is really nothing special about this restaurant. The food: The food at this restaurant is very mediocre. It is presented fairly well however it simply has no taste in my opinion. This is obviously a person to person thing, however to me the food is simply average at best. Cleanliness: One major gripe that I have with this restaurant is the cleanliness. It is a fairly dirty restaurant, both on the outside and inside. The booths are usually full of crumbs stuck down in between the cracks and the floors just look terrible. The outside of the place makes it look like a bit of a dive and the inside really does somewhat match. This is one of those areas where the restaurant could have just been cleaned, however it just looks dirty Service: The people at the restaurant are very friendly and the service is good. This is one of the few areas in which the restaurant needs no improvement. The food does indeed come fairly fast and the servers check to see how you are doing on a regular basis. Seating: This is an area which I believe needs improvement. Be aware that this restaurant is not made for large groups of people, by large groups I mean 4 or more. The seating within the booths is very compact and sitting 4 normal sized adults into a supposed 4 person booth is manageable but very uncomfortable. The table sizes are also not much better as the tables themselves are very small. For larger parties, they really only have a large table and a large round booth in the back. On a busy day if these two seating areas are filled, than you would have to look elsewhere to eat. In conclusion, as my review states, this is a very average restaurant with no special qualities. read more

Went in on a Monday around 2:00 pm , we had a wheelchair with us so we seated ourselves the waitress who served us was nice and took the order. The steak hoagie was terrible lots of fay, the baked ham BBQ was ok .and the pulled pork was ok. No one ever came back to check on us or to see if we needed something else, our waitress left So a very mice girl got us our check, as we were waiting another waitress kept running her fingers through her hair! GROSS. My sister in the wheelchair needed to use the rest room but it was blocked with extra chairs when we asked to move them they were very rude! the bathroom is not handicapped accessible. When checking out the owner was working the register and he couldn't care less about the complaints! This sits on a major road to the highways and you would think they would be a little more friendly! MY rating would be no stars but that is not an option. read more

What a find! Not an impressive looking place but we were hungry, so.... The place was buzzing. We realized that what we thought was a used car dealer was actually part of the parking area. Inside we found families and couples who told us that Randall's after church was an important part of their routine. We had a little wait to get a table but hostess and waitress were friendly and we didn't feel rushed. We were there late morning and set on breakfast fare; eggs and corned beef hash for me and French toast for my wife. Food came quickly and portions were generous and we enjoyed our breakfast for less than $10. We were eyeballing the dinners waitresses were bringing other diners which looked delicious and ample and were sorry we didn't get dinner instead of breakfast. I have been to Randall's Restaurant COUNTLESS times, usually after church on Sunday afternoon, with people from the church. Our minister is very fond of the place, and with good reason. It's just an old-fashioned, family-operated, home-cookin' kind of place with modest prices, large portion sizes, and good food. Nothing fancy - not the decor, not the friendly wait staff, not the menu, and that is certainly reflected in the clientele who pack this place out on Sundays. (There is a waiting area with twenty chairs, and there are usually people sitting in those chairs when we arrive...) Just about everybody I know who resides in the Mon Valley has been there many, many times, so I feel rather privileged to have discovered the place, not being from that area. The specials are the way to go, and most of us end up taking our desserts home with us because there isn't any room left. As far as our favorites go, there are a few. The cabbage rolls are made the old-fashioned way, and they are as good as you will find anywhere. I'm very impressed with the fried chicken - it's made perfectly. My son's favorite is the pork cutlets, and he really loves the scalloped potatoes. I also enjoy the Swiss steak. It's made the way I like it, just like my mom used to make it. And sometimes, when I'm feeling a little decadent, I get their delcious jello salad as my appetizer. I know one lady who always orders the onion rings, because they are awesome and she just wants to share them with everybody. There aren't a million choices on the menu, but everything we've had has been well prepared and enjoyable, especially considering the prices. Every time I've walked out of Randall's, I've had a good feeling about the place and the people who operate it. It's "homey," and much of what's on the menu I consider "comfort food." If you've driven down 51 South and seen a little place with a full parking lot that doesn't really look like much from the outside, then you've seen Randall's.
