Just had a very good breakfast with Matt O. aka #1 son and will have lots more to say about this place.
    Barrett O.

On a guys morning out with my son, Matt O. in Pittsburgh, I searched Yelp for a good breakfast spot and I scored in a big way.  Fox's Diner, nestled in Munhall, Pennsylvania, is a beloved local establishment that has been serving delectable comfort food and homemade desserts since its inception in the 1990's. With a welcoming atmosphere and a commitment to quality, Fox's Diner has become a go-to spot for locals and visitors alike. They have a warm, inviting atmosphere and a menu brimming with classic comfort dishes, making them a local gem with  friendly service and homemade fare. Our server Bridget was an absolute joy that took great care of us, and made us feel at home!!  Fox's Diner was founded by dedicated restaurateurs who sought to create a welcoming eatery that evoked the nostalgia of a traditional American diner. The diner has since become a beloved destination for locals and visitors alike, cherished for its commitment to quality and its friendly, attentive service. When you walk into Fox's Diner, you're greeted by a cozy, classic diner ambiance that transports you back in time. With its vintage decor, comfortable seating arrangements, and a welcoming atmosphere, the diner provides the perfect setting for enjoying a great experience.  They have a delightful menu that highlights classic American comfort food, with a focus on hearty breakfast and lunch options. From fluffy pancakes and omelettes to juicy burgers and homemade soups, the diner's dishes are crafted with care and are sure to put a smile on your face. While every choice at Fox's Diner is a delight, some standout items are crowd pleasers such as: * Banana Nutella Pancakes: A sweet and decadent breakfast option, featuring fluffy pancakes topped with Nutella, sliced bananas, and whipped cream. * Bacon, Egg, and Cheese Sandwich: A classic combination of crispy bacon, fried eggs, and melted cheese, served on your choice of bread. * Homemade Chicken Noodle Soup: A comforting bowl of homemade soup, perfect for warming up on a chilly day. For our dining extravaganza I started with a very good everything bagel, and while they don't make their own bagels they do source them locally. For the main attraction we both had their HUGE six egg omelettes. #1 son had the Farmer's Omelet with those six eggs, this omelet includes ham, onions, green peppers, hash browns, and American cheese. I had an excellent Greek Omelet again featurimg those six eggs, spinach, tomato, and feta cheese, offering a delightful Mediterranean twist to the traditional omelet that can out fresh and hot. We finished it off by sharing a terrific cinnamon roll and even got some sweet treats to go.  While the savory dishes are certainly noteworthy, Fox's Diner is perhaps best known for its irresistible homemade desserts. The pastry case is always stocked with an array of delectable treats, such as creamy cheesecakes, fruit pies, and decadent chocolate cakes. We obviously weren't able to resist the temptation of these sweet creations :-)  Points: Easy street parking They don't take credit cards, it's cash only but they have an ATM right up front.  Bottom line: With warm and welcoming atmosphere, classic American cuisine, and a commitment to quality is a total gem. The food is fresh, hot, delicious, and reasonably priced with very friendly people. This place rocks and I highly recommend it!!!  The diner's hours of operation cater to both early birds and night owls, with breakfast, lunch, and dinner served throughout the day. Customers can enjoy their meals from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM from Tuesday to Saturday, closed on Sundays and Mondays. It is recommended to call ahead or check their Facebook page for any real-time updates on hours or special events. Visit their website at www.foxsdiner.com for more information, or connect with them on their Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/foxsdinermunhall/.

My husband and I went here before our movie on a Sunday with no kids, thankfully. Smaller place but so cute. We loved the decor, the staff were amazing, loved our food and even had left overs and were so good the next day. We will definitely be back. Can't wait for more. Thank you all. Sam & Day.

Now they have a "diner" sign!

Updated review: still good! Brought the family here the week after Christmas so I didn't have to cook a big breakfast before everyone left. My MIL didn't believe me when I reassured her that it would only take half an hour, so they would be able to hit the road in good time. To her credit, she apologized for doubting me. The 6-egg omelet entree comes with toast and home fries, so despite splitting it, I now have potatoes to go with another meal. The Western breakfast sandwiches were a big hit and nearly consumed in their entirety, despite being thick on Texas toast. The only real disappointment was lack of fruit to go on the Belgian waffle, which was pronounced "better than the French toast." Although the website said something about going to cash only, the ATM was covered, and they took our card.

Have now visited three times to the new Fox's Diner (the old Falce's). They maintained a lot of what made Falce's great, and brought their own flare and updates to the place. They are currently still working on the insides, and it's going to be very cute when they're done! As far as the food goes, i've tried their Club, Reuben, A1 Bacon Burger, and my kids have tried the sliders and chicken tenders. All were awesome, and i'd recommend to anyone! Quality meats and ingredients are evident, and they've all been prepared well, and properly. Another thing i'll point out is their home made soups. They are to die for--excellent! TRY THEM! Good service, too, and the people have all been pleasant. Definitely look forward to trying many of their specials and great items!

Great little diner. The menu was small but had what I was looking for, open faced sandwiches. I got the hot beef and it was very good. The gravy was tasty and the bread they used was an upgrade to what you normally get. The beef was tender. I thought the portion could have been larger, but I would definitely come back when in the area.

Having grown up in Jefferson Hills, I have been to Al's Cone Zone more times than I can remember…read more It is a classic, reasonably priced establishment that is beloved by locals and visitors alike. Al's is located on State Route 885 in Jefferson Hills, just to the right of the entrance to 885 Park and Baseball Fields. The building is a bright blue, and covered with fun paintings of ice cream and other items they sell. So, you definitely will not miss it. It is a seasonal operation that usually runs from sometime in March to sometime in October. There is a ton of parking here. You will find some spots in front of the windows. Due to no fault of Al's, I personally find these a little difficult to get in and out of, just with the nature of 885 as a road. To the right of the building, there is a large parking lot, with spaces much easier to get in and out of. Al's purchased this parcel a few years ago, and made it into an expanded lot. There is a walkway leading to the building right from this lot. This visit in particular was this past September. I was in the area eating dinner, so I decided to stop by Al's for dessert on the way back. I arrived around 8:50 PM, and they closed at 9:00, so naturally there was not much of a wait at this time. The store is a classic outdoor ice cream stand. Meaning that you walk up and order at the windows, and there is no indoor seating. However, there are plenty of benches and picnic tables on either side of the building. Depending on the time of day that you visit, these might be full, so next best thing would be to tailgate at your car! I have tried a large amount of the menu here over the years, and there are a lot of great items. The Tornadoes are huge, and there are so many toppings available to mix in. Cones and dishes are gigantic, regardless of the size. I like the Ice Cream Sandwiches, particularly the ones with either the Chocolate Chip Cookie or the Peanut Butter Cookie. Milkshakes are tasty as well. In the fall, they will have Pumpkin Ice Cream, and tend to have other specials throughout the spring and summer. I have personally never tried the food items, but I imagine they are good! On this visit, I kept it rather simple with a Small Vanilla Cake Cone with Cherry Dip. As I said, the cones are very generous, so I normally stick to a small size. This one was a little porous and uniquely shaped, but that does not matter so long as it tastes good. It definitely did! The person who waited on me was friendly and quick. I understand it can be annoying to have customers so close to closing time, but I appreciated their demeanor and service on this day. The value here is pretty great. Most of the items are soft-serve, so naturally it will be less than hand-scooped ice cream. My cone was under $5, and that included getting the add-on of dip. Al's has always been a crazy good value, and I believe they still are. In the past few years, they also started to take cards. So, no reason not to stop by! Some bonus aspects of Al's are that they will give you a free Pup Cup with your purchase. My dog loves ice cream, so I take advantage of this often. Also, they offer a Punch Card if you ask for one when placing your order. So, if you buy 10 items, you will get one free once you present the card. I have always been a fan of Al's, and now try to stop by whenever I can. I do not live as close anymore, but it is still worth it to come by every once in a while for some delicious treats. The owner is very kind, as well as all of the staff. The product is good, and there really is something for everyone here. Plus, the atmosphere and overall value really bring it over the top. If you find yourself in the Jefferson Hills/Clairton/West Mifflin area anytime soon, make sure to stop by Al's!

My first thought after visiting was that I should have come here sooner, and my second thought was already deciding what I want to order next time. I am already planning to order the peanut butter soft serve with warm fudge and a warm cookie after being inspired by their chocolate chip cookie sundae advertisement and will need to ask about what the strawberry shortcake situation is all about as well. For years, I watched the long lines outside and wondered what all the hype was about. Sometimes you don't get it until you "get it" - and now I get it. Fortunately for us, there was barely any line when we arrived even though it was a hot summer day. Even better, it's only about a one-hour walk from my house. The service was also fast and friendly and the employee who helped us was pleasant the whole time which added to the overall experience. I was especially impressed by the peanut butter soft serve. The flavor was rich and pronounced without compromising the smooth, creamy texture of the soft serve. It was everything I would want peanut butter soft serve ice cream to be. I was also surprised by how many soft-serve flavors they offer. Most places have only a few options, but there was plenty to choose from here. That said, it's hard for me to order anything other than the peanut butter soft serve now that I know how much I love it. One thing to know is that they do not offer free samples because the flavors are made to order. Something else to know is that the small sized cone held noticeably more ice cream than the small cup despite being the same price - so if you can I suggest the cone over the cup if you want more ice cream for the same price. I originally chose the cup because my hands weren't clean, but I later realized the cones come with a plastic protector around them anyway. All in all, this is one of those places that lives up to its reputation, and I highly recommend coming here if you are an ice cream aficionado.

This factory offers a *tour* on certain Friday evenings and Saturday afternoons. Each tour lasts about 90 minutes and costs $25 per person. The tour includes seeing the factory's machines, tasting ingredients, and receiving a pint of ice cream. Through Millie's website, I purchased two tickets for a tour of the factory. On the day of the tour, my husband and I parked our vehicle in the free parking lot near the building. Inside the factory, the tour guide Quinn asked customers to sign a legal agreement and then gave us hairnets to wear. We started our tour on time. Quinn began the tour by telling the history of the business. Next, we walked through an antibacterial on the floor to clean the outsoles of our shoes. Quinn showed us a bottler machine, and they gave us samples of milk and chocolate milk to taste. This milk came from Twin Brook Dairy Company and was very rich. Quinn explained that Millie's is both a dairy processor and an ice cream manufacturer. Millie's creates ice creams completely from scratch and does not use any premade dairy bases. Then Quinn showed us machines that mix and cook ingredients. Common ingredients for Millie's ice creams are milk, heavy cream, egg yolk for French-style ice creams, salt, and cane sugar. Additional ingredients could include real vanilla, caramel sauce, coffee, beet root powder for color (no artificial colors), responsibly sourced chocolate, etcetera. Millie's pasteurizes these ingredients together, cooking them at approximately 165 degrees Fahrenheit for about 30-35 minutes. Quinn allowed the customers to smell and taste some of these ingredients. Next, Quinn showed us a machine that cools the ice creams and then a machine that is used to package the ice creams. They explained that the machines are cleaned with a hot acid flush and hot water. At the end of the tour, Quinn gave miniature cups of four ice creams-vanilla, best chocolate, coffee, and dairy-free mango--to each customer to taste-test. Then each customer got to select a pint of ice cream to take home.
