When we travel we like to do more local cuisines because why go to a place you can get back home? My kids opted for Olive Garden but seeing the reviews and wanting to support local small businesses, I decided to come here. The restaurant is nestled downtown College Station where you can walk up and down the Main with cute lights when it's night and some entertainment down the road. The restaurant is on the corner and the inside was very clean and you can tell it has some history. A person, who I believe was the owner, greeted us and sat us down right away. The vibe is fairly quaint and the ambiance is dark but chill. The menu is minimal but I love that there aren't 100s of options. We were greeted by a very nice server who offered fresh baked bread. While I live for fresh baked bread, this tasted old and stale. It didn't taste fresh but almost as though it had been sitting out for some as it was dry and super chewy. What we ordered: - the lobster w/lobster and added shrimp: pasta was perfectly cooked But the sauce was missing one crucial ingredient....salt!! My son, who is 12, also noted it was very bland and lacked any seasoning! He put salt and pepper and said it was much better but needed a lot of help! The lobster and shrimp were a bit over cooked as well, it was slightly rubbery. - the lobster (substitute lobster for chicken): the same review as the dish above, but the chicken was a bit dry and over cooked. - mozzarella garlic bread: this was the highlight of the meal! Very stringy like they used fresh mozzarella and garlicky just like we like it with marinara sauce! - calamari: one of my son's favorites but he noted they seemed frozen and not fresh! He couldn't eat it because the calamari was very tough and chewy! It was a major let down! While I appreciate the concept, and maybe it was an off day when we went, we'd think twice about going there again! The service was impeccable but the food is why I have it a 3. Cafe Capri NEVER disappoints! I ordered the Skinny Italian as a gluten-free, healthier option and added gluten-free pasta. It was FANTASTIC! The pasta tasted fresh and homemade, the vegetables were cooked perfectly, and it was all topped with just the right amount of olive oil, garlic, and feta. It's a wonderful alternative to a traditional Italian dish--light, satisfying, and delicious. I left feeling full but never heavy... and still had room for dessert! The food I ordered was bland & rather cold. The tiramisu was mediocre. My party of 4 almost spent an hour and half in the restaurant due to delayed service (the restaurant was not busy and plenty of servers available) Our server was not attentive and after instructing her to split our checks, she still proceeded to give us one check. The restaurant is nice and decent for a night out, however it was an underwhelming experience to say the least. I've experienced and eaten better at an Olive Garden. Maybe it was an off day. This restaurant is located in Downtown Bryan and I was able to find a parking spot right outside the door. I met some girls here for lunch and I'm going to be honest. I enjoyed the banter but I did not enjoy the food and drinks. I ordered The Lobster pasta and a Italian cream soda cocktail. The cocktail had like whipped cream or something over cream soda, I don't know, it tasted like nothingness and it was not good. The Lobster was so disappointing. It was literally too spicy for me to eat. I asked for it to go. I took it to my mom, and she also said it was too spicy. I don't think I would return here, which is rare for me to admit. read more

The food was amazing. We had the spaghetti and meatballs and the pesto ravioli ( lunch portion - was plentiful) The pesto cream sauce was delicate and delicious as were the "cheese stuffed" ravioli. The spaghetti sauce was rich tomato without overly zesty and the meatballs were seasoned perfectly. The tea is wonderful. The service was friendly and efficient AND we finished it off with the chocolate toffee mouse cake which was over the top decadent. What a wonderful place to eat and relax. Amaaaaazing Italian food!!! Dessert is the BOMB! I do not like chocolate cake, but I could not stay out my husband chocolate mousse cake!! My new fave crave!!! Dinner was soo good! The sauce is a family secret and holy smokestacks it shows!! The chicken parm and spaghetti for my son were delish! And I have to tell you the staff here was absolutely amazing. My poor husband didn't get a word in edgewise because I think I talked to our waitresses ear off! She was adorable and helpful and friendly and wonderful. All of them are! The raspberry Italian cream soda was sooooo good and only $8. All of the cocktails were lower priced. The place had a homey vibe, it was perfect for a fancy-ish but also relaxed dinner. I hadn't dined here since 2000, the place looks exactly the same. There's a bit of wear and tear behind the bar and around the kitchen, but overall it's forgivable. Service was super accommodating and helpful, we had a couple of miscommunications do to the echos of other diners (tile floors, plaster walls, high ceilings) but those were minor issues. Enjoyed the calamari, their batter is a little heavier and they do a bang up job. Chicken Caesar salad was alright. It's a mixed spring mix beneath a butter grilled chicken breast. Chicken is very tender and made a satisfying lunch. The chicken Alfredo served with the same butter grilled breast kept you wanting more...as in the fresh Parmesan cheese. If you want additional cheese instead of freshly grating as on the entree they offer a shaker of the freeze dried version..."how rude!". Lobster ravioli is missing lobster, it's an ok dish however I'd consider it more if a lobster bisque with ravioli. read more

The deco design scheme was Aggie creative, out of the box thinking. The art choices offered great topics of conversation for an upbeat atmosphere. The choice of music was good, it took a few minutes to adjust to the style which was easy listening nothing overwhelming. The low lighting was to be expected in today's trend, it was light enough. The wait staff were extremely attentive and friendly. I ordered the spaghetti w/meatballs. The quantity was enough for two very large meals, excellent flavor. I did add salt and parmesan cheese to enhance the seasoning a bit as a personal preference. My companion ordered the Alfredo and added spinach. It was very good, his personal preference was for a bit more of the tasty Alfredo sauce. The bread was very good and the pesto was very flavorful. Rami the owner was outstanding and kind. Our waitresses Dru was a doll and showed us out-of-towners true southern hospitality. The place is in a convenient location with lots of parking surrounding it. The restaurant itself was modern with a touch of classic history with lots of booths and chairs and tables as well. I personally got cheesy bread as an appetizer which was outstanding. Next, I got the Caesar salad, which was really good and fresh. For my entrée, I got the pesto raviolis. The raviolis were big and filled, and it was a rose sauce, with red sauce on the bottom and white sauce on the top. I would also like to add, that the prices were very reasonable. And that they had a very good lunch menu that ran from 11 to 2. I cannot recommend at this place enough, checked all categories of being a fabulous restaurant. After talking to the owner, Rami, we also learned that it is a local restaurant that has been there for over 30 years! read more

I've been going here since I was a young, the owner is a good dude and his late father was also a standup guy and had an equally quality joint to eat at. Our waitress, Faith, was absolutely wonderful. She was friendly and catered to all of our needs. The complementary bread and olive oil was a great way to start off our time at the table. Faith brought me a delicious raspberry cream soda, and my mom enjoyed a glass of Pinot Grigio. We ordered the pesto ravioli and baked penne. Our food came and looked delicious, but I was slightly underwhelmed. My mom and I agreed that the food would have been enhanced by the addition of sharper cheeses and garlic. This place is a MUST if you're looking for good Italian food in BCS! The calamari is so light and crisp. The eggplant parm is my favorite! It's a little heavy, so I'd suggest sticking with it for dinner. Superbly cooked eggplant in a velvety red sauce served over pasta in a creamy white sauce is a perfectly balanced combination. The Key West Pasta with grilled chicken added is my go to lunch option! Their toasty sandwiches are amazing, and the fried cheese is phenomenal. The staff is attentive and helpful with any suggestions and the owner, Rami is as present and engaging as his mother Houda was when she still had Cenaré still open. My only wish for this place is that they would offer fresh parmesan instead of the grated stuff in shakers. For everything else to be so fresh and perfect, grated parm feels like a small disservice... Still this place is beyond 5 stars for me. read more

The Caffe' Capri experience was pleasant and delicious. Complementary bread was served with olive oil and a drop of balsamic vinegar. We had to order a second round because of how good the bread dipped in balsamic vinegar was. We ordered the Calamari for an appetizer that was served with marinara and garnished with Parmesan which had a different batter from your usual Calamari. Overall the calamari gets a B- due to its small portion, but was great. Twisted affair with fettuccine noodles. This dish had the taste of authenticity and freshness. It was beautifully made and giving it a A. The second entree was Chicken parmigiana. A gorgeous dish that had an amazing sauce and the batter coating the chicken. Giving it a B+. Finishing off the meal we ordered the cannoli which had a thick cream filling that was chalky in a crispy pastry drizzled with chocolate which will earn a B-. Overall Caffe' Capri is a B in the Madame Michelin book. This fresh ingredient restaurant had great dishes but a weird atmosphere due to them not playing the classical Italian music. They say it makes it more up beat, but instead puts your brain in to a weird vibe. Also, no uniforms for the waiting staff. Our waitress had on a bright pink long sleeve shirt on instead of the classic all black attire. Overall a decent place to go for well priced authentic italian food. If you are looking for a date night restaurant in Bryan, this is the place. The food here is delicious! Your meal starts with warm bread (my favorite)! I really like their lobster dish, which is "sundried tomatoes, penne, fetta cheese, lobster, & Cajun cream." The Cajun cream goes so well with both the tomatoes and lobster. For dessert, I would highly recommend the chocolate toffee mousse with kahlua. It is rich, creamy, & perfectly chocolatey. The location of Caffe Capri makes it easy to walk around downtown Bryan after, which has lots of fun little shops. There is also usually parking nearby! read more

Coming here was definitely a wonderful experience! My boyfriend and I went to downtown Bryan for dinner and Caffe' Capri caught our eye with the crowd of people waiting outside. Fortunately for us, we were greeted by the friendly staff and seated right away. Starting with the appetizer, our server brought us garlic bread on the house and they were delicious! They were served hot and fresh from the kitchen. For our main dishes, I got "The Lobster" pasta and I though it was pretty good. However, for a dish called "The Lobster" I was hoping for more lobster on my plate. I also thought there wasn't enough sauce so the pasta felt a little dry. However because the restaurant was very aesthetically pleasing for something in College Station I'm giving it a higher rating. read more

We were in the area and needed to stop in for dinner so we decided to try Caffee' Capri. The inside decor is definitely interesting. It's clear this was a themed restaurant before becoming Italian. Haha! The staff were very friendly. We were there around 5pm. It was an odd time. The staff were hanging out at the bar talking and not very attentive. We had to wave them down several times despite being the only customers in there (and 4 staff onsite). They were also not wearing masks which I don't love. Only the gentleman (who I believe is a manager) was wearing a mask. The food was delicious. We each got a different pasta. We also tried the Italian cream soda which was FANTASTIC! Oh and for checking in on Yelp we got a free garlic cheese bread. Based on the food we'd probably go again, however we'd need to be in the mood for possibly having bad service. read more
