The owner is a very nice guy. The ribs were the best I'd ever have and I can't wait to have it again. Only thing was the sides were sold out when we went at 1PM.

The food is excellent, but the merchandise isn't worth the price. I paid $30 for a hat, wore it three times, and the letters are already bleeding into the logo. This just confirms why I usually avoid buying vendor merchandise.

1775 BBQ. There are some tables inside but this is best for pickup to eat at home.

Without a doubt the best bbq in College Station for pickup or catering. Celebrated my #1 Son's graduation today with the families in town and I knew years ago that 1775 would have to be the base for our celebratory meal.

This past week I had the chance to go home to College Station for a few days before I started my summer semester back here in Orlando. Of course I had to make sure to get my BBQ fix while in Texas! My parents had been raving about 1775 for a while now, so I was excited to give it a try myself. They're notorious for selling out, so if you intend to go I would recommend going as early as you can. I had a slice of brisket and a sausage- both of which were absolutely amazing. Living in Texas for 8+ years, I've had my fair share of BBQ. The brisket was exactly what you'd hope for, a perfect marbling that melts in your mouth, and tastes so good you don't need a drip of sauce. The sausage was cooked perfectly as well. I loved the bread that they provided- it's definitely made locally or homemade, not just like what you get at the grocery store. I just want to note that you absolutely get what you pay for. The pricing may seem somewhat higher compared to what you'd pay at say Rudy's, but the quality of food and the small business you're supporting is WORTH IT! It's safe to say I'll be recommending 1775 to anyone and everyone from here on out. Can't wait until I'm back in town so I can grab another bite!

This is what I was dreaming of when I heard Texas bbq!! We came here on a Saturday during a road trip and arrived about 1130, thought we were going in the wrong direction because we were leaving town, but we found it Snd I'm so happy we did!! We ordered the sampler & two sides so we got to taste all the meat plus cucumber salad & loaded mashed potatoes The crust on everything was heavenly - beautiful color, flavor and GLUTEN FREE!!!! The turkey was good but not my favorite & since I was getting full by then I left it The jalapeño sausage was so good - yummy flavors & a tad greasy but yum!! The ribs fell apart and were what you imagine a rib to be - tender, sweet & fabulous The brisket.... Good god almighty!!!!! It was so tender, the fat rendered perfectly and the flavor was to die for! I could have eaten a pound all by myself :) The cucumber salad was ok - refreshing & light The loaded mash were super yummy and I ate every morsel! I was so happy they were really knowledgeable about gluten and knew what was safe to eat I wish I lived in the area so I could frequent them more often - next time :) Great people, wonderful food - definetly stop by!!

The last brisket of the day, regular and spicy sausage and fantastic turkey plus sides.

Great, near College Station bbq spot. Named to the 2019 Texas Monthly Best New 25 BBQ spots in the state, coming in at #5. We went on a Saturday at noon (only open Thursday-Saturday). They open at 11am. They were already out of ribs. We bought them out of brisket. Bought some turkey and the regular plus spicy sausage. Both sausages were good. I preferred the spicy. It was more grainy(?) which appealed to me. The TURKEY was fantastic. Sliced breast was still moist, smoky and just damn good. Brisket was excellent too, perhaps fatty but we bought them out and they tossed in some great burnt ends. Sides were corn casserole 5 out of 5. Pinto beans were solid yet a little plain. The loaded mashed potatoes were great as well. Finally, the sauce. Both sweet and spicy. Each good with the spicy having a more vinegar influence. I was torn trying each on every meat to see which enhanced each better. In closing, BYOB because they sell tea, soda and water only. Finally, they sold out by 1pm. Go early or risk walking away empty.

So glad that this place was recommended to me. We were in College Station for a week & since we aren't from Texas, we had to make every meal count! We ate at 4 BBQ spots. This was the best. So good that we went back a second time. Any meat that you order will be great.. On Saturdays, they have burnt ends, with a raspberry glaze. I highly recommend! All of the sides are super, esp. fresh cucumber salad. The family that owns the place is as nice as can be. Thanks for being so welcoming to a bunch of Floridians!

I hit up the 1775 gang on a pre-pandemic BBQ romp through the Bryan/College Station area of Central Texas in February 2020. So my apologies for the late review. Let's just say the food and the experience were memorable enough that they're still fresh in my mind. Note that they're located a ways outside the B/CS city proper. It is 7 miles southwest of the A&M campus and a couple hundred feet east of the Brazos River. If in doubt, follow your nose. I had their prime brisket sandwich, cheesy corn casserole, and a bottle of sweet tea. $17 before tip & tax as I recall. That's a reasonable price for food this good. Brisket sandwich was very well stuffed with smartly smoked hyper-, hyper-, hyper-tender slabs o' brisket. Even after a bit of bun crushing, it was still a stretch (literally) to fit it into my mouth. Very generous on the portion! The smoke note was sharp enough to make a very distinct initial impact, bordering on acrid but narrowly dodging that bullet. The meat itself was flavorful enough that it's sumptuous quality did not fade, it held on to the last bite. It was a head-down, elbows-out, eyes-focused, jaw-chompin', shovel-it-in-and-swallow session of taste bud overload. Righteous! The only downside was that, being prime beef, the fat layer constituted a high enough percentage of total volume to make the brisket extremely rich. Borderline too rich, particularly after it was about half eaten and I noted that each bite was wanting dilution with some of the absorbancy of the cornbread-like casserole or a slug of tea to wash it down. The corn casserole dish was tasty, mostly moist, and had a dense texture somewhere between cake and semi-dry bread pudding (as if you'd run a bit shy on the custard), and a nice hit of cheezoid flavor from the topping layer. The whole corn kernels suspended throughout the dough made a nice contrasting texture note. Bottled sweet tea was tea and was sweet & wet, so the standard was met. Counter help at the order window was being efficient & proficient versus the typical friendly cordiality I'd experienced at most other BBQ venues. But they are a very popular eatery, there's always a line, and when lunch crunch hits "Ya do whatcha gotta do!" to handle it. So I can certainly understand & forgive any abruptness in the process of getting their hungry customers taken care of. Those fellow customers provided compensatory friendliness and proxy hospitality once we'd gotten our food (order at the window, step aside, wait for your number to be called) & seated ourselves at the tables inside 1775's metal building. They were the usual warm, welcoming, enthusiastic Texans that always make a visit to this state a treat. So I intend to hit up 1775 Texas Pit BBQ again next time I'm in the College Station area, but will likely opt for a non-prime cut of brisket to score the sumptuous flavor & tenderness with less of the fat cap riding shotgun.

Coca Cola cake was very moist and tasty.

Stopped by after a visit to College Station and was very happy we did. Go to the far right to the trailer under cover to place your order. We went in the "back door" to the sitting area and had to work our way back to the right. I wanted to sample, so I went with the five meat sampler. They said they didn't have any turkey which I didn't mind. Later I thought: shouldn't they have substituted something? I guess I got a four meat sampler for the price of a five. The ribs were VERY good and the brisket was even better. I'm not a raving pulled pork fan, but my lunch partner thought well of it. Finally, the sausage was just kicking. I don't think you could go wrong if you liked any of those. For sides, the loaded mashed potatoes were very good, but the corn pudding was too breaded for me. I'm a raving fan of creamed corn so if you like corn pudding, it may be for you. Last on the sides was the charro/pinto beans which were EXCEPTIONAL. Loved those and could have just gone with a big bowl of that. If that weren't enough, we grabbed a slice of the Coca Cola Cake. It was a very thick and moist sheet cake with a nice icing. But, I must be uncouth. I didn't taste any flavor but sweet. But heck, I finished every crumb, so it was good!

    Moldy bread!!!

Guess I should know better than to stop by on my way out of town when they are about to close. $70 later (plus a 15% tip, not sure why they even make tipping an option on a FOOD TRUCK window, but oh well), I left with a pound and a half of fat that was supposed to be brisket, a pound of sausage, a pint of macaroni salad and a cucumber salad (which would have been ok had they been not sitting out all day). The only decent part was the sausage, but I had Chappell Hill sausage at home in my refrigerator that would have been just as good. If all that is left at the end of the day is the fat, DON'T SERVE IT!! Close down and call it a day! I had stopped to pick up BBQ on my way home from the game because my mom was at the house making a pot of pintos, thank God for that or we wouldn't have eaten. And one last tidbit, please, DO NOT SERVE MOLDY BREAD! And it was the top slice in the box so whoever packaged it flat didn't care!! Gross, gross and gross!!! Makes me wonder how little they care about other stuff they serve that I can't see!!! This was the tip of the iceberg!! I'm seriously considering contesting my credit card charge....it was THAT BAD! $70 for the WORST BBQ experience I've ever had! I was really excited to stop here as there is always a crowd, lesson learned, don't go when it's close to closing time. I'll never go again!

Stepping back, this farm located outside of Bryan, Tx owned by Chef Bryan and wife Amanda, both of whom are great and down to earth couple that they now have incorporated a commercial kitchen that allows them to host these type of events. As part of the spread this farm has all the normal trappings you would find, i.e. chickens, pigs, etc. The couple are relatively new to the farming scene and as part of the animal tour they share their learnings of what's worked well and what hasn't which most people don't normally like sharing any of their shortcomings. Once the farm walking tour is complete you head back to the long outdoor wooden tables and benches all backed up to one another making a nice long long table that seats about 40-50 people, all appointed nicely with decoration and candles. To add to the experience are the outdoor lights strewn above head across the tables and tree branches. Something you would see in movies. After everyone has been seated and you've had time to finish your introductions with the other people seated next to you they begin serving their 9 course meals. All of which come from either their farm or anyone of their neighbor farms. These dishes aren't large dishes but give you an idea of the varied seasonal produce Bryan and Amanda grow. All the dishes were very tasty and some better than others, but you could really taste the natural organic flavor from what they picked from that day. As far as drinks its bring your own wine or beer so that helps keep the cost per individual to a very reasonable price at about $125+ tax p/person. By the end of the night the evening is finished off in the garden area that you follow the candlelight trail where everyone gets served coffee and desert under a full moon. How cool is that! So whatever you plan on doing next months full moon, drop what your doing and come here NOW! You won't regret it and you'll be wanting to come back again.

They have full moon dinners every month with nine small courses. It is a pricey dinner (ticket sales close a few days in advance) and it's north of Bryan, TX (about 1 hr 30ish mins from Houston), but the ambiance and menu are unmatched. Ours included meats like octopus (I requested a sub and they did fish), venison, beef, and chicken. All Texas local ingredients, all freshly prepared. I'm talking dishes like fresh tagliatelle with venison and hyssop, homemade squash dumplings (possibly my favorite, but it's hard to pick a single favorite course), jerk chicken with sweet potato croquettes, and mille-feuille with a smooth chocolatey filling for dessert. It's BYOB and they send out pairing suggestions beforehand. They accommodated our meat substitution requests without issue. I loved getting to eat under the beautifully lit trees with the rustic table setting. We had a short tour of the farm before dinner and got to see their garden and some piglets running around. I honestly thought maybe the ambiance would be the big draw for me and that the food would be second, but this was truly one of my favorite meals of the year.

Everyone was super helpful and great! We loved all of the servers: very attentive 5/5: flavor of the food! We had the 4 course meal for the supper club. To start we had the scallops which were great but small, the crab succotash was good but needed a little more flavor- it also had some crab shells that my husband found in it... then we had a salad- flavorful but small.. third course of wax the lamb chops and this was the highlight of the entire meal- WOW!!! But still if it had had one more chop, it would have been more of a better portion... 4th course was the Belgian chocolate soufflé- we both enjoyed this course but I don't think it should have been called a soufflé- it honestly was more like a brownie in a mug type dessert- it wasn't a soufflé texture, more brownie texture 3/5: portion size: DC was delicious but kept you wanting more. I think if they want to make sure their customers are fully satisfied, they should provide some table bread and butter- this could keep the cost the same but make sure people weren't wanting to make popcorn whenever they got home. We were slightly less content because of portion size. It also would make the time between arriving and the first course not seem so long if there was homemade table bread. There needs to be some sort of filler as there were very few carbs in the meal overall. 4/5: environment: the set up was really nice! Loved the live music and the decor but the chairs weren't comfortable- hard to have hard cold chairs whenever you are having so many different portions to a meal. They need some cushions or something. Overall, like I said, we had a great time and would definitely return! We just see some potential improvements that we hope could put the cherry on top for people attending the DC events in the future .

The vibe is fairly quaint and the ambiance is dark but chill. The menu is minimal but I love that there aren't 100s of options. We were greeted by a very nice server who offered fresh baked bread. While I live for fresh baked bread, this tasted old and stale. It didn't taste fresh but almost as though it had been sitting out for some as it was dry and super chewy. What we ordered: - the lobster w/lobster and added shrimp: pasta was perfectly cooked But the sauce was missing one crucial ingredient....salt!! My son, who is 12, also noted it was very bland and lacked any seasoning! He put salt and pepper and said it was much better but needed a lot of help! The lobster and shrimp were a bit over cooked as well, it was slightly rubbery. - the lobster (substitute lobster for chicken): the same review as the dish above, but the chicken was a bit dry and over cooked. - mozzarella garlic bread: this was the highlight of the meal! Very stringy like they used fresh mozzarella and garlicky just like we like it with marinara sauce! - calamari: one of my son's favorites but he noted they seemed frozen and not fresh! He couldn't eat it because the calamari was very tough and chewy! It was a major let down! While I appreciate the concept, and maybe it was an off day when we went, we'd think twice about going there again! The service was impeccable but the food is why I have it a 3.
