Wanted to grab some breakfast in the North Beach area. As soon as we entered we were greeted immediately by the owner (I think), and the he was super friendly. Got two bagels: bacon, egg, and cheese and Lox both with the everything bagel. For the drink, got a dirty chai latte. The only thing I could say was that my dirty chai latte was not hot and was more on the room temp to warm side. Other than that, I would def come back. read more

Was in North Beach walking around and found this little cafe on the corner and decided to get a cup of joe!!! When I walked in was greeted by a gentleman behind the counter, not sure he's the owner of not, he was pleasant. They were a little busy and the cafe was 75% full. I got a vanilla latte, which tasted great, not too sweet. Perfectly made. They have a few options on breakfast pastries and bagels sandwiches. Almost everyone in there had a bagel sandwich, must be good. I will have to try when I'm in the area next time. There are some historic photos on the wall, I thought that's pretty cool. read more

Everything from the friendly people to the yummy food makes this place a "this is our spot" kind of cafe. We tried the lattes, cappuccinos, fresh egg sandwiches, macaron, and cannoli. 10/10 no notes on all. Really appreciated that the owner remembered us and was so friendly. read more

I was looking for a coffee place close to the restaurant I was to have dinner at. I found the business on Yelp and decided to grab a caramel macchiato (hot) and a cold brew while we waited for our dinner reservation. The drink was exactly what I needed, a quick pick me up, the balance between coffee and milk was perfect. The cold brew was just as you'd expect as well, very smooth and no harsh bitter aftertaste. The exterior has a red banner so it's easy to spot several blocks away. It's right across the street from the laundromat. The patrons were either students, or people waiting for their laundry. The cafe inside is quite small but ample seating inside and outside. Overall great spot for coffee! read more

This little spot is deceiving.. doesn't look like much from the outside, but this was one of the best sandwiches I've had in years (no exaggeration). I ordered the turkey avo BLT but with no bacon (don't judge), and an Americano that tasted great. Staff was so kind, and while the food and coffee took a while, it was definitely worth it. I ended up working here for a couple hours and because it's a smaller spot, noise level was fine and everyone was respectful of those working. Great wifi too!! Highly recommend!! read more

Sean is the sweetest man! You can tell he really makes a connection in the beautiful neighborhood. I had a pretty standard breakfast of a bagel and cream cheese and an iced vanilla latte. My bagel was delicious and the addition of butter with the cream cheese made it perfect. The coffee they use is delicious because I had a different latte later from somewhere else and all I could think about was Caffe Capriccio! Thank you Sean for being so sweet read more

Small cozy cafe tucked away in North Beach, not on a busy street. Came here to work a bit and the ambiance was good for working -- not too loud, not crowded on a Friday afternoon, lots of seating both inside and outside, and they have a clean restroom. Not sure if there is free wifi (I didn't ask). Got a chocolate babka to snack on and it was very good! A little pricey (just under $7) but filling and delicious. Lots of drinks on the menu and pastries too. Their sandwich options looked really good as well! Owners were friendly. read more

The bagel was good, the rest of it was bland. We took it to go to eat by the water and regretted that immediately when I realized there was no seasoning on the eggs. The eggs were also dry and it needed a sauce. Very dissapointed and the prices were very high for what you get. read more

We recommend the turkey and avocado blt sandwich, it tastes amazing and filling. The owner is very friendly and kind. The aesthetic of the shop is really nice and inviting. I arrived 5 minutes after they opened. And got attitude for the fact that they were not ready, like it was my fault. Maybe put your opening hours as 730 instead of 7. If you can't manage to get there on time. ... Now he has responded with a nasty attitude so I dropped it another star. If there was a zero I would give it to him. ... Now he has responded yet again to say he hopes that next time I will choose another coffee shop. I can guarantee I will never darken his door again. And I hope you won't either. read more

Went in here because we saw it while driving by, the man at the counter was super quick and helpful!! Got a cafe au lait, hot chocolate, a butter croissant, and a chocolate hazelnut croissant. The croissants were delicious and we loved our drinks!! It was nice and cozy inside and had all the relaxing ambiance you'd hope to get for a cafe. This is a cute neighborhood spot with ample indoor and outdoor seating. They have a great selection of treats, the cinnamon rolls are divine, and coffee is always hot and fresh. Staff aren't overly friendly, but certainly not rude. I enjoy stopping in the morning on my way to the gym! read more

A sweet little gem of a cafe was exactly what we needed after walking through a sea of chains for breakfast. Located on a corner in a quiet neighborhood, it gave "locals love this place" vibes that made me want to stay awhile. Alas I had 2 loud teens with me that would have disrupted the quiet morning crowd so we got our breakfast to go(this had been the plan anyways). Our group ordered 2 bacon egg and cheese bagels(needed cream cheese but that's the consumers fault for not reading the menu carefully, otherwise each element was yummy, especially the bagel) and 2 avocado toasts( delicious, even had a drizzle of olive oil, tasted like mine at home, and that's hard to beat). Mixed feelings. On one hand, it seems like the coffee and ambience are pretty standard. The owner man's the whole cafe and cleans it himself. For a small cafe, it's decent. However, I have to be honest when I say that the menu is a bit bland. It doesn't have any dishes that left a distinct impression on me. Probably just because I'm not a sourdough person, but I'm sure there could be alternatives to that. read more

I travel to SF fairly often for work and this is my favorite cafe to come to. It is right next to where I work when I'm in town and it has never disappointed! The sandwiches are great, my favorite is the Sicilian which is simple and perfect. The coffee is delicious, I generally order a dirty chai latte with oat milk. The owner is one of the friendliest people around. He always has a smile and you can tell he loves what he does. There is indoor and outdoor seating, it is nice and cozy inside. I always feel relaxed when I am here. I can't recommend this place enough. read more

This place is so cute and it feels so home-y, the environment is all around amazing and lots of regulars come here to read the newspaper and play sudoku and I love it. The man taking your order is so sweet and kind and any ounce of respect you give him, he loves. The food is amazing as well, I got a simple sausage, egg, and cheese bagel which was good however my girlfriend got a egg, cheese, tomato, spinach, and turkey sesame bagel and it was so so good. I'm a lover of pandan and had SO much trouble choosing a drink because of it lol. I ended up ordering the kopi klepon and it was amazing! The drink was super creamy and earthy, and I loved how vibrant the pandan flavor was. Oftentimes when I get pandan drinks the flavor is way too light, but this had the perfect amount. It also had a bit of palm sugar in it, which added just the right level of sweetness. Definitely lived up to the hype!

After all, there isn't a freeway that connects the bridges, so all the vehicular traffic courses through this congested main artery like a coronary you just know is bound to happen. That's what makes it less than desirable to be a pedestrian on this block. However, this compact coffee spot does an exemplary job in mitigating the traffic noise and safety distractions by serving solid caffeine options. I survived the crosswalk and had a satisfying $5.50 Cold Brew (Photo 7) next to the window. That's all I can ask. The Movement Coffee house is located on a small street across from an apartment complex. There was definitely a crowd outside, which made me think the coffee had to be good. I joined the crowd and stood outside. The space itself is extremely small, so the process is basically waiting outside until y you are beckoned or called to come in, place your order and grab your drink. It's not the most friendly or comfortable setup, especially not a small talk venue. The space is limited so their focus is to turn out orders and move you out. The coffee was good and well-made, but personally, I think it's a bit overhyped for the experience. Still worth trying at least once if you're in the area and curious about the local coffee scene.

Day one was outstanding. We each had our coffee. I ordered a Spanish latte and my lover had the date cinnamon latte. Both were wonderful. He also had Turkish coffee because we were just starting our day. I'm not about that life lol so I was good with my latte. Day two we splurged a little more and had Bee bites, a potato turnover, and a beef turnover. We also had the same lattes because why the heck not? Day three was a sad day when we had to leave home, but not without stopping and grabbing a bunch of snacks to go. I wish I had taken more pictures, but I was more eager to get the food and drink in my mouth than to pop my phone out and waste time. Sorry, not sorry.

Highlight of the menu was absolutely the kouign amann - it was so buttery and flaky with this caramelized sticky sweet inside, rivaled in my eyes only by the Arsicault one. We also got the seasonal one (raspberry and guava) which was also really good. The passion fruit bostock was also interesting with this spongy cakey texture with an almond topping. The banana chocolate almond croissant was another favorite of mine, it's also such a unique item and definitely a must order. We sat inside at a table so we could eat some of the pastries right away which I highly recommend - everything lost freshness after a few hours and I probably wouldn't get anything from here again with the intention of eating it later. They have a ton of cakes too, tried the chocolate mousse cake, the berry cake, and the passionfruit orange and guava cake. The chocolate mousse was my favorite and runs on the sweeter side compared to other chocolate mousse's I've had. The other two are also amazing and have a bunch of different layers. I also tried the prosciutto burrata and cherry tomato tartine - an open faced sandwich basically - which tasted good but was kind of difficult to eat, either with hands or fork and knife. Would definitely come here again both because what I tried was so good and there are so many other things there I'd want to try.

I was in and out in around 5-10min. I ordered the maple cinnamon latte and the triple ginger scone. The maple cinnamon latte was DELICIOUS. The sweetness of the maple balance perfectly with the cinnamon. I had never heard of the ginger scone before, so I decided to give it a try and it was surprisingly very good. I was scared that the flavor of the ginger would overpower the sweetness of the scone, but quite the opposite. It had the spiciness of the ginger and the sweetness of the scone. Overall, would 100% revisit. It's also a great sport to work remotely, with a lot of sitting areas and tables.
