The interior makes one feel that you are in a high end cafe with its beautiful decor. Some many items to choose from, the person taking my order was very helpful in explaining the different kinds of drinks and pastries. Ordered the Ginger Honey Jobani as a hot drink, Biscoff Milkcake, Honeycomb, and a Beef Fatayer. There were several kinds of milkcakes which would have the texture like a tres leches cake. The Honeycomb had pockets of cream cheese and was drizzles with honey. The Meat Fatayer is like an empanada. The food and drink were very tasty. Highly recommend to stop by Sanaa Cafe and experience it. Their website shows more cafe openings in the future!

Whatever you order, make sure to add their hot sauce! It definitely elevated each dish! The ambiance of the place was kind of boho chic and it was relatively empty at around 12:30pm on a Thursday. Service was nice, our waitress was prompt and paid a good amount of attention to us. I feel like they are a bit understaffed though, but that might be due to business being slower than usual during the time we went. Overall, I would recommend this spot to people look for Filipino food with a twist in the area. Would love to come back myself to try their lumpia, sticky wings, or desserts!

I loved the bar setup and the mural they made on the wall. A lot of the pictures were the same children as they grew up, so I think they're family pictures- which is sweet and personable. Hee The gentleman apologized for the wrong hours posted online, but he said he wasn't able to change it. We will definitely be back again, but in the daytime, so it's not as they're closing. Hee.

Then again, I'm used to Indian chais. I would pass on the chai. There was basically no one else there on a Friday afternoon during off-peak hours. It was dimly lit and kind of chilly because the door was left open, so it wasn't the most comfortable cafe ambiance. While this visit was in between the lunch and dinner rush, unfortunately I think they are understaffed because at the time we sat down there was only 1 person who was busing tables and taking orders. As a result, it took a while for them to be able to stop by our table and provide water, take our order, etc. There was quite a long wait between sitting down to ordering to actually receiving our food. By the time we had actually received our food, almost an hour had passed. While we were waiting, a few other servers eventually joined, but service was still pretty bare for us and we never received refills on water or plates to eat off of when we received our food. I understand that staffing and a backup in the kitchen are out of the staff's control, but it would've definitely helped for us to know in advance how long to expect to wait to align our expectations and arrange our plans for the day. Would advise giving customers a quick heads up/warning because that on its own would've made a big difference. As for the actual food, we ordered the mac trio with elote mac, chicken pot pie mac, and kogi short rib mac (for an extra fee). The elote mac was the best and most flavorful, the short rib mac was okay but not amazing or worth the extra money, and the chicken pot pie mac was very bland/flavorless and didn't have much chicken in it. The food didn't feel like it warranted the wait time and because of that I would not return.

The smashed patties are perfectly cooked and seasoned. The supporting elements are quality and executed spot-on each time: the cheese, grilled onions, and mayo. It's a perfect fast casual burger. I also recently tried the Chopped Beef burger and dang it was amazing. The hearty meat and cheese the and buttery bread texture hit hard. This will be another go-to and I recommend it. For sides I've gotten tator tots, regular fries, and season fries. All fantastic and they're generous with the portions. HOWEVER -- you've gotta get the seasoned fries. Addictive and finger-licking amazing. When dining in staff is always friendly. Area's not too busy and you'll always find parking easily down a side street. And price wise it honestly feels like a steal for me given the care and quality and pure satisfaction. Works for me though -- I'm going to keep ordering from this place. Cannot recommend this gem of a burger joint enough. Fantastic seasoning and execution, solid prices, and absolutely satisfying every time.

I ordered the turkey club and it was honestly huge. You can see in the photo how big it is compared to my hand. It was stacked and super satisfying, the kind of sandwich that definitely fills you up. We also shared a deviled egg and some fried zucchini to start, which were great little bites before the main dish. The zucchini was crispy and light, and the deviled egg was simple but really good. I paired everything with a mocha latte that was perfectly balanced and honestly superb. Overall it was a ten out of ten brunch moment. Between the sunny weather, good coffee, and really satisfying food, it was exactly what we were looking for. Definitely one of those spots I would come back to for brunch again.

It doesn't seem possible and you'll think I'm making it up but I'm serious. The owner of this cafe, at least that is how he identified himself, refused to refund my money when I tried to return a plate of cream puffs that tasted strongly of alcohol. I explained that I did not enjoy that flavor and asked if I could either exchange for a different dessert or get my $5.00 back. He refused to even talk about it, was ridiculously rude and actually at first stated there was no alcohol in the cream puffs and then later admitted there was Ameretto in them. Aha! I asked why there was no signage stating the obvious inclusion of alcohol in the dessert. He acted like a "rage"aholic and started actually waving his arms around like a mad man. If it was possible to put no stars at all I would. This guy has an advanced case of craziness and clearly has no clue about how to be good to customers. It's too bad because I actually liked the space, wanted to support an independent rather than Starbucks, wanted to give it a chance, but the guy is a flat out nutcase and I would never spend another cent in there. read more

The stuff at the caffe is really RUDE!!!!! The cashier/barrista woman was super arrogant and obnoxious. She first refused to serve me, saying that she needs to text someone. Then, she pretty much ignored my order, and didn't give me my receipt. Then, I approached her for the third and last time to get a box for my pizza, and she literally ignored me. I had to call her second time and she gave me such an attitude, saying that she was busy. I told her that she behaves disrespectful to her customer, and I would like to speak to the manager. To what she replied: "I am the manager," and walked away. I suspect it was a lie. I asked her for her name, and she tried to ignore me and just dropped a random name. I went to the one on San Pablo and then the one in San Francisco. I wasn't really impressed. But when I found the one on Piedmont Ave, it was so cute and inviting I decided to give it a shot on a saturday morning recently. It was surprisingly good. I ate the spaghetti with marinara sauce and meat balls. My friend had the margherita pizza. The food was fresh and really tasty. I have to admit I didn't expect that much from a chain cafe like Trieste. I don't think all of them serve food like this. The service is good. They don't have internet which means people go there to read or talk to friends. It's not a working cafe. And the food and drinks come out quickly so you're not sitting there at the edge of your seat wondering if they've forgotten about you. So based on food and timeliness, I gave it five stars. read more

Positive: Good traditional foamy cappuccinos, not the new wave extra milky type. Negative: someone brings food to your table after you order at the counter, but no one busses. There are signs to bus your own table which no one sees. So, most people don't buss and every time i come in there are dirty tables and abandoned plates. I don't want to buss other people's food! Please just give up on the wishful, every man for himself philosophy, and just have your staff buss regularly. And why does the Italian omelette have Swiss cheese in it? I see Parmigano and Fontina elsewhere on the menu. Stupid read more

I love this place! Ive never been to any of the other locations, but ive always had a great experience at this location. The staff is so friendly and most of them attractive too. The capp was foamed perfectly, the pastry was yummy, and the paninis and breakfast is so good! It can be a bit crowded on certain mornings, but there is always a seat somewhere. i even like the crowd and the type of people that go there. And this place is really not thta expensive. Breakfast is such a good deal for what it is! And my friend who is vegetarian was delighted by the many choices for her on the menu. read more

damn the tiramisu is from italy! their cakes and pies and napoleans are amazing! definitely my favorite place for desert. I couple it with a capp and a sierra after. The atmosphere is great, and the baristas play their own music, which has been an absolutely wonderful selection. Ive been making sure that one of my fridays and saturdays a week have been spent there, and it helps me completely unwind and relax. there is a great crowd there and friendly people. i love bringing friends here, aside from the great food and drinks, its quiet enough to talk, but loud enough to feel lively. read more

I love this place, and i dont know when the reviewer below me went, but every time i have been there the music has been really fantastic. The food and espresso are great, but ive been coming in a lot lately with my friends more some evening time drinks. they have four dollar pints of good beer and glasses of wine. then you can get some traditional italian desserts and jam out. its got a good lighting and full enough to be cozy but spacious enough to be chill. I ordered lunch through DoorDash and had a great experience with the food! Although I didn't get to experience the service or ambiance, the dishes I ordered were delicious. I opted for the Breakfast Hash and Turkey & Bacon Sandwich. The sandwich came with a side of salad, pickles, and pepperoncini, which complemented the flavors perfectly. I devoured the sandwich so quickly that I forgot to snap a picture, but I'll definitely be ordering it again in the future. Looking forward to trying more items from their menu! read more

Piedmont Ave needed a casual place like this...the prices are great and the quality is five stars. The Avenue has GREAT eats, but sometimes you want something quick and easy.
