Service is fine but DO NOT COME HERE if you need to do work or hold a conversation. There is a workout class happening above and it's extremely loud, you hear yelling, jumping , and banging nonstop. In addition, it sounds like the ceiling is about to drop on you from all the jumping above. You can clearly hear the instructor and every word and it is LOUD. read more

I had Caffe Nero for the first time the other week while in Boston. The caffe itself was in a prime location with a cool vibe that provided an abundance of seating options. After downloading the app, I was rewarded with a free coffee and pastry- which was incredible. I chose a cinnamon bun and my friend chose a everything bagel swirl. We agreed they were tasty but would've been even better heated up. I got a mocha iced coffee which was creamy and delicious! Definitely not too mocha-y. I liked it so much I had to get it one more time before I left the city! Will definitely go whenever I see a Caffe Nero again! read more

Great place to come work, spacious good seating and good coffee. But the staff is unbearable, they're in their own world. Continuing conversations while customers are trying to order, having conversations so loud you can hear them through noise cancelling headphones. They're not welcoming and have no sense of urgency. read more

I have a severe stutter, which can make ordering at new places for the first time extremely difficult. However, the short male barista who served me was extremely patient and attentive. He never tried to finish my words for me and just patiently nodded. I never once felt rushed but genuinely cared for. Most restaurants and servers seem ticked off when I stuttered, but this young man never once stopped smiling and listening. The coffee tasted amazing and I will definitely be coming back. I came here to study and loved my coffee and the atmosphere! Truly nothing was wrong except for the barista who served me. She was super rude, not welcoming, and had major RBF. I was kind and asked a few questions as I was new. When I asked for less syrup in my drink, she told me it wouldn't taste good and that SHE doesn't like it that way. I still wanted half sugar as I don't like my drinks super sweet. She finally did it as I asked again but took the biggest sigh as though it was an inconvenience for me to ask. Solid cold brew, and I'm a fan of the baked goods (skip the savory). Nero has also mastered the art of mass produced hygge. So, given the somewhat perilous task of independently rating chain locations, this one feels overrun by issue of cleanliness, claim-stakers (seriously, there are like 12 total seats and 90% of them are filled with laptop warriors at all hours), and as such, claustrophobic conditions as compared to its brethren. It's consistent and if there's a spot, the wifi is stable - the chronic campers in an utter lack of seating, and the wrappers, plates and empties sitting on other spots makes this a less enjoyable (although still A-OK) Nero experience. read more

Came on a Tuesday morning around 8 am. Plenty of seating (sofas, tables, long work tables). Free 3 hours of WiFi. Good place to do work or catch up with friends, but the floorboards upstairs creaked every few minutes. I ordered the caramel latte ($5). There was the perfect amount of foam and it was the right amount of sweetness. They also asked what kind of milk I wanted and offered to add cocoa on top! read more

These baristas know what they are doing! They are very skilled and well trained. Some baristas are more friendly than others. This is my favorite Caffe Nero however. I love the fireplace and the space inside. It is gorgeous inside. I love that they warmed up my croissant which was very tasty. I also really, really appreciate the affordable prices. My oat milk latte wasn't over 5 dollars. I also appreciate the variety of foods and bakery items. They have juices, salads, sandwiches, and sweet treats. The coffee is high quality. My only negative comment is that there are a lot of little flies so when I was eating they would fly around. I know they can be hard to get rid of but it wasn't too great. read more

While in town for work, I stopped by. I was impressed with the speed, quality, and staff, so I came back 3 more times. The baristas were able to take mental orders for multiple people and keep the line moving quickly. What did I learn today? Make sure to not miss the blueberry muffin. It is awesome! read more

I have to start by saying I love the quality of the food and coffee at Nero. Their breakfast sandwich have to best price to quality ratio of any other coffee chain. This being said, the barista at this site appear to dislike their job and it shows in their service. There is one barista in particular that really let her frustration on her customers, to the point I sometimes hesitate to walk-in this place. She has spilled coffee on me without apologizing (in a hurry to get to her break), told a non-Caucasian friend of mine to speak proper English, and constantly talks in a rude tone. You can also feel the tension between the people working behind the counter. I would suggest better cultural competency, team building and efficiency training. read more

It's a chain but it's a good chain. They have a surprising amount of space for you to enjoy a meal or coffee while being able to relax or catch up on work. Free wifi with easy connection. Prices are low for the area, as well. I didn't think they'd have as much food as they do, but this is a nice addition to Southie. First off, I am Caffe Nero's biggest fan - They all have a great atmosphere built by books, fireplaces, and the large open windows and outdoor seating in the summer. I'm always sure to tip if I plan on hanging out for any length of time. That said...I am becoming a bit disappointed in this location. Nothing that can't be remedied, but employees need to take more pride in the cleanliness. The last several times I've come in, the condiment station was a mess, trash overflowing, spills, and all three napkin dispensers empty. One employee was on break sitting behind the mess and oblivious to it while the other occupied with customers behind the counter. A couple weeks ago I had to point out a swarm of fruit flies crawling all over the baked goods that all customers in line were commenting on (an employee promptly threw away most of the goods on display; there was no sign of flies on my visit today). Note to manager: It would be good practice to have a list of items for employees to check at regular intervals to ensure everything stays neat and tidy. Surprise checks might help too. Fix this and you'll be back on top in my book. read more

The coffee has never been something you rave about at cafe Nero, but had to do a review to share how rude the staff is at this specific location. They openly use vulgarity when talking to one another behind the bar and gave the customer in front of me a lecture when they ordered a small coffee, upset with them for not being more specific. They just wanted a small coffee, which is what they ordered, but since they didn't give any details on flavor or cream the worker with purple hair went off on a lecture to them and snapped her fingers at them. Additionally, they will constantly let the line get super long with really no added sense or urgency to their own work output. Overall they strike me as a staff that would rather be anywhere else than at their job helping customers. read more

Adorable cafe and great place to grab a quick bite or catch up with a friend or two. Really great layout for group studying or group work as well. I used to frequent this place over the summer when studying for an exam and it was generally not super loud and pretty easy to find a spot on one of the long tables. The service here is pretty poor. They can't seem to take a moment to answer your questions so they move on to the person behind you in line. One person will take your order and then ask someone else to make it for you, but they can't seem to remember what you ordered (after repeating it three times) and still forget to give you part of your order. I only keep coming here because there are no other coffee shops nearby but the service is TERRIBLE. Every time I come the staff is rude and acts like you're bothering them just for asking them for a coffee...aka to do their job. I work in the service industry so I get it being busy or being stressed but this even happens on a slow day but there's no need for the attitude all the time. Decor is typical Nero rustic-chic with a variety of seating types (large and small tables, booths, couches and vintage upholstered chairs). The layout is long and somewhat narrow, but there is lots of natural light from big windows facing Broadway. Great place to grab coffee and a snack and get some work done. Very spacious coffee place located in Southie! They also open until very late into the night which is a plus. I ordered their Chai Latte and a spinach and tomato scone. I love most Caffe Nero's; great sandwiches and selection of teas and coffees. This location recently opened in my neighborhood and every time I've been in there has been an issue with the general manager/owner. The first time he was 'training' a new employee by completely degrading her in front of a line of people. I was embarrassed for her and actually told him I wouldn't return. A few people walked out because of his behavior towards her. He second time I came in he was sitting talking for over an hour to a friend letting employees work. I haven't been back since until today, hoping he was gone. Today he served me and was extremely rude when I ordered a tea and he served it in a mug and I asked for a teapot of hot water so I could refill it. He slammed it down on the counter. There are plenty of other coffee houses to go to and Caffe Nero should investigate this pig. He seems like he's never had a job where he's been able to feel Important before. read more

I was trying to give this place a chance. Let me explain...When they first opened I went in there for a Coffee and a Muffin. However, the place was infested with Fly's. I did get a Latte, however, I asked the Clerk to wash the Cup, which she did. While waiting in line to be served yesterday a crowd of People came in and the Clerk immediately began waiting on them. At that point I said...Hey, there are People in line over here that have been waiting. He answered "the line forms over here". Without batting an Eye he continued to wait on them, no apology's were given. I'm done with this Place. The Summer is coming and I'm sure they'll do nothing about the Fly issue. I love the new Caffe Nero in Southie. The staff is SO friendly- they are always willing to make suggestions and help you create exactly the coffee you are looking for. They are super helpful, which cannot be said about batistas at other coffee chains in Boston. The inside is perfect for quiet convos with friends or for getting work done on a Sunday. The service here is painfully slow. I've been on two separate occasions where there were less than 3 people in front of me and it still took 10-15 minutes for me to order and pay for a black cold brew. On both occasions, I got my drink in 3-4 minutes or so and then had to stand there and wait for someone to pay attention to the line of us waiting to pay for our drinks/food.
