I love mangos and was looking for a place for dessert. Sweet Kingdom in Chinatown did not disappoint. We had the mango moochi sago and it was packed with mango flavor. It was fresh and delicious! It was $8.50 plus tax coming to a total of $9.10. If your purchase is less than $10, then you'll have to pay cash. There are a few tables and stool seating inside. My friend and I came on a Friday night after dinner. Neither of us had heard of Sweet Kingdom, but we've passed by it several times in the past. When we entered, there were very few customers. We shared the mango mochi and the strawberry milk shaved ice since there's a $10 minimum to use credit card. The appearances of the desserts were a bit surprising to us since they didn't match the menu photos. The mango pieces in the mango mochi were pleasantly sweet, but the mochi pieces were a little bland and awkwardly large. The strawberry milk shaved ice was a little disappointing to us because there were huge chunks of ice (not the tiny pieces of ice we were expecting) that weren't pleasant to bite into. The strawberry slices and the various jellies tasted good, but in the end we were just left with a cup of large ice pieces. It's very possible we ordered the wrong things, since waves of customers came in after - we should've asked them for recommendations. Overall, we had a good experience. Boston Chinatown is no slouch - it packs a ton of dining experiences in a few square blocks. This place serves an assortment of Asian desserts ranging from classic to more modern takes. Seating is no frills but more than comfortable. We got a bunch of things to try and they were all good. The black sesame sweet soup with glutinous rice balls was good. The kids also really enjoyed their sweet soups with taro balls. Prices were fair and they do a good job of keeping the taste authentic. It also came with Taro Moochi, which sounded tempting. I enjoyed the mango sago, but didn't fully appreciate the moochi. I probably should nix the moochi for ice cream (Mango Kingdom) or go with coconut jelly (Mango Coconut Jelly) in the future. Prices have inched up a tad over time, as these were $6.50 a few years back. The Taro Moochi combinations were $3.50 + $1ea (x 3), but are now $4.50 +$1 ea (x3). When we cobbled some tables together and wrangled some chairs for our party in their small and already over 50% populated dine in space, a staff member attempted an assist. We ordered and paid at the counter, and the food was brought out as it was made. Listen up for your number on the receipt being called. Recommend they cook the taro more and add some ginger syrup to the tofu pudding like other Taiwanese dessert places. I wish this place existed in Florida. I love the different types of sweet soup desserts. Sweet Kingdom has an overwhelming large menu from sweets to savory appetizers, soups and tea. The inside is decorated in a simple fashion but has very cute wooden tables and chairs. It only sits around 20 people but there wasn't a lot of people there when I went on a Monday late afternoon. Got the 清热解毒 combo which is great after eating fried foods. Herbal grass jelly, lotus seeds, green beans, sweet potato taro mochi, and aloe with sweet coconut milk. So so good! Also tried the coconut jelly and red bean sago. Equally delicious. They're both not overly sweet and full of different textures. If jelly and squishy textures do not appeal to you, you might want to try something else. Most of the ingredients are soft and silky or chewy. Sago is the same concept as tapioca which is just another name for boba as well. Grass jelly is an herb but it similar to jello. It's good for you! read more

Mango Pancake: comparable with the quality found in Hong Kong and Beijing. Sweet whipped cream surrounds a piece of ripe mango, all wrapped in a soft pastry dough. Rice Balls with Black Sesame: these requires a 10 minute wait because they're hot, black sesame is a really good flavor that everyone should try. The rice balls are chewy like boba.
