RUDE host, RUDE and INATTENTIVE server, mediocre pizza, overpriced alcohol. Not worth waiting a single minute for this experience.

First time trying this restaurant after a recommendation from a friend. The ambiance is excellent. Beautiful place. Long wait even though there was a lot of tables open. Ordered an appetizer that never arrived. One entree had a hair in it but they did a great job of taking care of that issue. Food was average. Travel to Ogunquit once a year and would recommend other restaurants. read more

Fantastic dinner last night. Our server was great and the other team members pitched in when things got busy. We didn't feel like pizza, so we tried the haddock on a bed of linguine. Loved it. Great vibe in there. Everyone working hard to keep the customers happy. Highly recommend. read more

Before heading to the beach, we stopped in to Cafe Preggo for breakfast. Our waiter, Marlon, was friendly, attentive and very accommodating. We split a breakfast panini sandwich that had amazing flavor and the yogurt parfait had fresh fruit and granola. Adequate portions and delightful setting under the porch canopy. We visited this restaurant for a gluten free pizza that was advertised on their menu at a $2.50 surcharge. When it arrived, it looked good. However, the shell was devoid of any taste and had the consistency of Wonder bread. A 'Against the Grain' shell is available if one is going to use a prepared shell. It has both taste and consistency. To charge $2.50 extra for this travesty passing for food is robbery. To even serve it at its already inflated price is a crime! Surprisingly good pizza for what is in the tourist trap area. The wines by the glass were reasonably priced and the staff was friendly, especially the boy with the italian accent. Would be back if craving pizza since cornerstone is a hot mess. read more

What can I say, we who live in the Bay area of California, or better yet, San Francisco, are blessed and spoiled to have such a great selection of food in the area. But I digress, Ogunquit is stunning and I would love to visit again, I will just have to try other places to eat here. We came here with friends on the eve of the Hurrican Earl storm and we couldn't choose which restaurant to eat from since most of the places were closed in liu of the storm warnings. The service, as usual, was excellent, but the food, pizza and salad, were mediocre if not on the verge of mall food court like. We ordered a large pizza that was half margherita and half hawaiian. Doesn't sound complex, well, our poor server got YELLED at for putting in that order because confounded, it wasn't allowed. Whoa, coming from an area that has definite flair and great diversity, this was crazy and we felt bad for our server who was the most gracious gal. So we made sure we tipped her well and I will be sure not to come back to this particular lil spot unless it's the only place that's open. read more

It's so hard to decide where to eat when Ogunquit has so many great restaurants to choose from. We decided on Caffe Prego because of the reviews and reasonable prices. We weren't disappointed! The atmosphere is great. There was even a jazz duo playing on the porch. We ordered shrimp scampi and the haddock piccata. Both were delicious. We will definitely come go back the next time we're in the area. read more

Went in to get an iced coffee since I sat at a table for 15 minutes without being waited on. The girl at the counter seemed confused by the request. Coffee was watered down and undesirable. Not to mention there were about 10-12 teenage kids in uniforms standing around the entire time doing nothing. read more

Went there for lunch today. I had a soup, and a sandwich. Food was terrible, but the waiter was really nice.

Very disappointed in this restaurant. We ordered chicken parmesan with eggplant, served with spaghetti. The chicken was tasteless, very little pasta, and the eggplant was one thin slice. The sauce was very basic. No bread and butter, no salad, and slow service. I would not go there again. read more

I ordered a meatball sandwich and they served me pre-made meatballs with canned marinara sauce and potatoe chips still in the bag. That's right, potatoe chips still in the bag. So they basically just resold what they bought straight from the store to me at a higher price. This place is a joke. We went to caffe Prego last night for some good authentic Italian food and that's exactly what we got to start off we had arenchini Which was very good compared other arenchini the only thing it lacked was a good red Sauce for main courses the party got chicken parmigiana the pizza special and a meatball sandwich the chicken parmigiana Was a good portion of well cooked pasta topped with a perfectly cooked piece of chicken with high quality parmigiana layed across the top the pizza special was a perfectly made thin crust pizza toped with smoked guta prime sausage and smoked pepper and finally the meatball sandwich was great made with delicious meatballs sliced thin finally don't forget desert wether you want a house made gelato or Italian pastry's read more

Fantastic pizza. Only 3 stars though because while the bruschetta and minestrone soup were tasty, the 4 very small pieces of bruschetta were out of line at $7 as was the bowl of soup at $6. But the pizza was under $14 and served 2. The service was not great - it seemed there was one waiter for the entire patio so good service would've been impossible. read more

Just went for first time will definitely go back. Owner was there and really made us feel welcome can see really enjoys being around people. We had the pizza and the spaghetti and meatballs. Came here with no expectations and mostly because it was open on a weekday in June for lunch and had off street parking. Came away very satisfied. Even the spaghetti with meatballs was special. Very good salads and panini. Broad selection of gelato and sorbet. Friendly service. Ate with my family on the front porch and felt welcomed. read more

My husband and I went on 6/26/12. What a wonderful restaurant. it was a rather chilly evening and the staff brought out a heater to warm up our seating area outside (very customer friendly). We ordered off menu adding their homemade meatballs to our pizza. Good choice!! Dessert was not a disappointment either the pear tart was fantastic. On a crisp October evening we sat in the outside patio with heaters and a fireplace blasting. The food, the service and the live music were perfect! The owner and our waiter could not have been more attentive. The paninis were delicious and the desserts to die for! This place is fabulous. Went with two little kids ages 3&4 on a rainy evening. Sat outside under heated awning and kids were brought buckets of fun with little beach inspired games and coloring books. Ordered bruschetta and pizzas. Delicious. Great service. We had a birthday dinner for my 9 yr old grandson. We ordered a variety and loved all. The child's tenders & fries were amazing. Salad of the day was perfect, loved everything. Second time there, and a new favorite place (even though we liked it last year too)! Menu was medium sized (i.e.,, "right-sized"), but interesting as well as some traditional Italian. Our party of four ordered two salads, a Margherita (simple) pizza, and shrimp and pesto over pasta. Then host came over and spoke with us and our two adult kids. Very nice, interesting guy, who then gave us a small sample of meatballs with sauce that was so good that we added plain old spaghetti and meatballs to our order. All the food was excellent, top notch quality. Wine list was small but had good and reasonably priced choices. Ambiance was very informal, which seems appropriate for "downtown" Ogunquit. Mostly outdoor seating, though we took a table just inside, to avoid a longer wait. Rest of wait staff was very nice too. Desserts looked good, but we opted for a couple of flavors of their own made gelato, which was great, too. Hope to go back soon! read more

Good job! Waitress was terrific, full of energy and consideration and everyone that worked there seem to be part of a fine team, helping each other out. We noticed that and we liked it-appreciated it. I ordered a salad and panini. The chicken was the real deal-not deli chicken, real chicken breast that would have been baked in the oven and the turkey was the same. Even the lettuce in the salads was top rate -not just iceberg lettuce -nice green Romaine and other types. I was impressed. The only thing I personally didn't like was the piano music. I know he was trying his best, but I didn't find that music relaxing and we moved our table and I noticed the people who sat at it after we left also moved. It could've just been that it was too loud sitting next to the music but my preference is to have melodious music that's calming or happy-this was just kind of disjointed and annoying and pounded away. read more

I will try this again, as I think that everyone needs to be aware of this Restaurant and the owner. The food is acceptable, but not incredible, but the real issue comes from the service and rude owner. I have eaten at this restaurant many times over the last two years, but last week will be the last. After a 60 minute wait for our food we finally questioned the waiter about our order, we were told that it was lost and that we needed to place the order once again. At this point we still did not complain, but after another 30 minutes I called on the owner to explain what was happening. He said I was rude to the waiter and that we needed to leave, but after we paid for our bill...ncluding the food that we still had not been served. At this point he said he was the Mayor of the city and was going to call the police. Within 60-90 seconds the police arrived and I was told that if we did not pay that they would take us to jail. This man uses his position of power in this town to act like a bully, but the worst is how he was able to ruin a vacation for a group of people. We are all in our 40's and succesful people, but I have never been treated this badly by anyone in the service industry. I have some advice, go to Pizza Hut and to the owner, I think it is time to retire. read more
