The first time I visited, I got the espresso doppio and the cafe Al Pepe. Both were good -- the espresso was chocolatey (but not too concentrated). I haven't had any cafe al pepes before so was pleasantly surprised by the pepper flavor profile. However, the second time I went, I got the cappuccino al cacao. It was SCORCHING hot!! Definitely had minor tongue burns after the first sip. I was super disappointed.. overheated milk is one of the marks of bad coffee.

Delicious! I bet competition is steep in Seattle, but Cafe Umbria really brings it. I was in Seattle for a month and this was probably the best coffee I had. The service is fast and efficient, likely because they are deeply busy (we went on a Sunday during the farmers market, so that didn't help). Even so, we had our drinks within minutes. We got an espresso and an americano, and both were made perfectly. You could tell that the coffee is very high quality. It was pretty loud in there, so I don't think (at least on Sundays) that this is the best option to sit and hangout/study, but the coffee definitely rules!!

Extremely aesthetic coffee shop with plenty of outlets. I got a latte made with nonfat milk. I was (pleasantly) surprised when the barista brought my drink over to my table instead of just shouting my order; I always get nervous about spilling! The included chocolate was a nice touch too. I also appreciated that they had the option of sparkling water. Overall, a pretty good place to do work. I'd bring a jacket though; the AC is turned on pretty high. Will definitely be coming back.

Tried their cold brew and it was really bitter. Husband enjoyed it though, hence the 4 star, but I need something with some sweetness.

Unfriendly, aloof staff. Cappuccino so hot it burned my mouth. And yet they ask for a tip before I have even got my food and drink.

Yummy . Vanilla latte and roasted baguette with butter and jam, delightful . The decor is beautiful and simple, and the staff is friendly.

Great cold brew, staff seemed tired and a bit slow. Would still argue it was worth the wait, barista clearly knows what he's doing.

Rather disappointing, coffee drinks seemed watery. I had nitro cream. Staff was friendly however!

Is there a table in the bathroom I can change a baby on?

Sadly, no. Ours is still small enough that we can change him on their bathroom counter.

And a shoutout to the server for toasting my scone. It came out warm, not dry, not too cheesy, just how I like it. Matcha latte w/ almond milk was alright, knowing this can't be compared to what I can get at tea cafes. I love how they make this place green w/ all sorts of indoor plants. Plants do light up the area and mood given that Seattle can be so gloomy around this time. Def coming back if I'm in the area again.

I tried the fall seasonal Medici mocha with an apple cinnamon pull apart and my husband tried the cortado and a latte. The quality is great and it's one of those places that doesn't make overly sweet drinks so if you like a mocha that is very coffee forward in flavor, this is a great option. They also have vegan friendly breakfast pastries and burritos so you can accommodate multiple people of varying diets. Baristas are friendly and make conversation while you wait, even when it's a little busy. It has a few tables and the typical noise of a cafe, so feel free to if into their WiFi if you want to work from somewhere other than home if that's your style. Overall great experience and I think the seasonal specials are worth a trip if you're looking for a little more fun!

When we went, there was a line out the door, every seat was taken, and the whole place felt very crowded. It's the kind of coffee shop I probably would have enjoyed a lot more if I had randomly stumbled upon it before it became so popular. To be fair, I'm not a coffee connoisseur. I like my coffee on the sweeter side and I'm honestly happy with places like Mercurys or Starbucks, so I may not be the target audience here. The coffee tasted fine, but it wasn't something I'd personally crave or go out of my way for. Overall, I thought Aroom was cute but average, and a bit expensive for what it was.
