Parking on the side of the building.

Exploring to the Uptown Espresso in Magnolia, I was happy to find the parking lot on the side of the building a little under half full when I arrived around 7:37 a.m. this morning, Wednesday 26 July 2023. The inside was quiet and had a few other patrons. Looking over the displayed food options and beverage menu I went with a mini coffee cake bundt, an espresso, and an oatmeal cookie. The total with a tip was under twenty dollars. The worker behind the counter was friendly and orderly in taking and filling my order. Both food items were tasty. The coffee cake bundt was a little on the denser side for a coffee cake and I enjoyed the frosting/icing. It had a flavor that complemented the coffee flavor and sweetness of the cake without overpowering it. For the oatmeal cookie, it contained raisins, white chocolate chips and a green item (chopped pumpkin seeds perhaps). It was sweet and neither too heavy nor rich. I got a good energy burst from the espresso without a crash later. The flavor was on-point.

This is what you can sit on if you're a customer of Uptown Espresso.

Nearly $7 for a latte in 2025 and all your chairs look like this? Reeks of no respect for your customers.

Respect! In a town filled with great local roasters and coffee shops, I want to call out the Uptown in Magnolia. Uptown was my first home, a coffee hangout/work/networking place away from home when I was shopping for my condo ten years ago when I was shopping for a condo. The team at the Magnolia Uptown makes it a point to remember everyone's favorite when they come to the counter. They are knowledgeable about the roasts, have great recommendations, and have better taste in music. Highly recommend.

Super quaint Starbucks alternative coffee house on Magnolia Village. Barista was very prompt and Ices Latte was perfect. I like the open floorplan and relaxed vibe.

Delicious coffee and food. I used to frequent this cafe when I worked nearby, and now just pop in when I'm in the area because they have the best espresso. Today was the first time I've ever used their restroom though. Yikes. Not only was the toilet seat actually barely attached so you slid right off, but the trash was overflowing onto the floor and the paper towels were just tossed on top of the dispenser so you had to touch a wet roll to pull more out. At least they had soap I guess? Disappointing for the upscale area.

You are straight up criminals charging $9 for a latte with almond milk. The owners here should be reprimanded for price gouging.

Great and friendly staff and pretty consistently good coffee. Some of their tea drinks are hit or miss.

What a secret gem of a place! Just tucked in from a bustling Denny street!…read more We started out with some cappuccino and iced latte, and they were lovely. They served the coffees with a little shortbread cookie, and these little details really elevated the whole experience. Also, the cappuccino was so foamy, and it hit the spot immediately. The breakfast menu was also fantastic. The TPC Breakfast plate included sausage, potatoes, bacon, bread, and some scrambled eggs. There also was an option to add Beecher's cheese on the eggs, and I'd say it was totally worth it. Most importantly, the Dutch baby was as good as they'd advertised. It comes out on a piping hot skillet which kept the dessert warm till the end of the meal. The service was very quick even though they were entirely booked out for the time we were there for. I appreciated the patience from the servers and their helpful directions in picking the menu items. I will warn you that we had to reserve our spot months in advance. This is probably because the restaurant is great but pretty limited in seating space. However, it was definitely worth the wait, so don't be discouraged. I highly recommend trying it out at least once. All in all, highly recommend! Please go try Tilikum Place Cafe!

The baked eggs, however, were just okay - nothing particularly good. The ambiance was cozy and nice, right in downtown Seattle. However, be prepared: the wait can be long, and once you're done, they'll need the table, as there's usually a line. Overall, it's worth a visit - just make a reservation and come for the Dutch babies. I was told there are seasonal Dutch babies so try again sometime in June maybe. Unfortunately, they were not offering breakfast sandwiches on the day we visited, which was a large part of their food menu. The service was fast and friendly. This place does have a bit of a fancier vibe, so we opted to order and go since our kids were with us. They do have cute little seating options inside and outside- always a perk! We just ordered a drip coffee and a pistachio cream latte. The Pistachio Cream latte was amazing, but we wished it had a tad more pistachio flavor. The drip coffee was good. The Dutch baby was the real winner: chewy, and puffy golden edges, blackberries, candied nuts, and a fruit drizzle. That was the most memorable thing on the table. The fish sandwich was fine but a little underwhelming. Crispy bacon and a generous salmon fillet, but the bun came out cold, which threw off the whole bite. At around $25, that detail matters. The most disappointing thing were the Fries, which were on the harder side. Tables are tight, so plan for elbow-to-elbow seating. Worth it for the Dutch baby. I'd order differently next time.
