Had the buffalo chicken egg roll and prime rib melt. Egg roll was great but prime rib was thin sliced roast beef instead of prime rib. Still was good. Good service by staff. We went to Caffreys against n and it's the best food in forked river. Always consistent and the Chicken Caffrey is great.

This is the second time I've been back this year to give it another chance and it's a BIG NO. Let me start with this we got 2 entrees and 2 appetizers: Black jack Cajun burger, Philly Cheesesteak, Spinach dip and the outrageous onion. The Burger was extremely bland, GREASY and nooo Cajun flavor at all and had the taste of a 2 year old freezer. The Philly cheesesteak was completely inedible and I threw the entire thing in the garbage and I felt bad for the garbage can. Now for the Spinach dip.... SOUR and the taste of a mop bucket while being served in an aluminum pie dish. I believe it also came out of the 2 year old freezer along with that horrible burger. The outrageous onion while being tough and greasy it was the only thing that was edible and that was by a SLIM margin. For $54 dollars I had a CAFFREYS gift card (THANK GOD!) they also charged a CC fee to use there OWN gift card which is laughable lol!! I will never come back and I hope people really read this review because it's not a joke and you will be extremely disappointed if you come and eat here.. the food quality has diminished tremendously over these last 2 years!!! If I could I would give this place a -1 star rating!!! read more

Check the ADA.... Regulations. Went there and got attacked as soon as my husband and I walk in the door. We had our service dog with us along with his paperwork and tag. NO DOGS!!! I never give bad reviews, but I was so looking forward to eating some corn beef today, so I drove a decent distance to Caffrey's expecting some delicious corn beef. Unfortunately, it was very dry and didn't have much flavor. The reason I am posting this is so they can up their game. They're an Irish Tavern. It's Saint Patricks Month. The corn beef was not great. WOW what a great time ! First and most, I would like to thank our waitress Mern for her great service !! She was very knowledgeable , kind and friendly during my and my buddy's time at Caffrey"s... The drinks were made perfect (Powers Irish whisky and ginger and the PBR's ) My friend and I had steak dinners which were cooked perfect along with all the fixings... We sat outside at their outside open bar which was beautiful and spotless.... Friendly service and solid beer selection, but that is where it ended for me. Menu was uninspiring and our food was average at best. Boneless wings, meatloaf special, and a cheesesteak which screamed they are trying to get by and not stand out. Stopped in here the other day with my brother and his girlfriend. I liked the look of the place as there seemed to be a lot of locals in there at the bar and in the dining area. I have to admit that I was surprised that this place had sushi and I was told (by my brother's girlfriend) that it was excellent. My brother ordered the soup of the day (chicken parm soup) and his girlfriend and I ordered the seafood bisque. For our entrees my brother ordered the nachos, I ordered the Avatar Roll (Tempura Shrimp topped with white tuna, wasabi sauce and eel sauce) and the Red Dragon Roll (eel topped with fresh tuna and eel sauce) and his girlfriend ordered the Cindy Roll (Tempura Shrimp and scallions inside, topped with eel, avocado, and tuna finished with eel sauce) and the Spider Roll (Tempura soft shell crab, lettuce, cucumber, mayo and eel sauce). My brother and girlfriend loved their meals...but here's my assessment... The seafood bisque tasted fine, but the shrimp was WAY overdone to the point of being mushy and the rest of the seafood seems to be imitation crab. My rolls were MUCH better than the soup. A generous portion for each roll and they tasted fresh...kind of surprised me. Our waitress was very attentive and came back to us numerous times. The place was clean, seemed like a LOT of fun, and has a pretty diverse menu. I'd love to come here for some of their regular bar food, but I'm almost never in this area. Very pleasantly surprised by the quality of the Sushi. Enjoyed the Sushi for two menu selection. Tuna, Yellowtail and Salmon were all fresh and flavorful. Quite a big selection of specialty rolls which I plan to work my way through each time I visit this establishment. Waitstaff is very friendly and also prompt. Only issue is the timing of your food being served. We all felt a bit rushed with the main course being delivered minutes after salads and appetizers were delivered. Also sushi order was delayed and came about 10 to 15 minutes after everyone else had already received their meals. Overall we plan to visit again, probably not on a weekend night. read more

Haven't been here since it reopened after their fire. Food was delicious, especially the spicy crab soup. Service was great. Would have given it 5 stars but there were 9 of us, 5 separate checks would have been great,but they DoNot offer this. Their servers are missing out on better tips. Instead of rounding up 5 checks we only round up one! We had the back dining room to ourselves which was really nice but there is no AC back there, or very little. Even a floor fan would be nice for circulation. Everyone enjoyed their food but sadly agree we won't be going back as a group since they can't accommodate separate checks even for couples! read more

When I started this review a banner popped up asking me to be nice, after my experience last night nice is off the table. We wanted bar food and a place to watch football, so we went to Caffrey's (not the main building their outdoor Ian space). Service was horrifying, our bartender (female on Thursday night) wasn't just rude, she was mean. We aren't needy customers but when we damn near have to throw something at her to get her attention, and when you don get her attention the attitude you get is as if you asked her to climb Everest. Now the food, as a precursor the fan in our bathroom has now been running all day, and that's not the only thing that has been running all day. My son had a sushi roll, of which he finished half - in fear for his own life. He also had the soup, I mean bar pie. I had the cheesesteak and the pretzels. I had to ask what the SOFT pretzels were as they were not only unrecognizable by sight, they were also unrecognizable by taste. They were obviously previously frozen and they just zapped them in a microwave, but you could clearly see they were freezer burnt. The beer cheese sauce came with a plastic cover, I soon realized that was the skin on top of the cheese sauce. There were three of us, all three of us tasted the pretzels, all three of us spit them out. When I let our bartender know that not only were they not soft at all, they barely resembled pretzels. She fought me, she said I was the problem not the crap food I was just served. I have never been served such shit by such an evil person. As I am writing this I am on the John for at least the tenth time today, I think my son may have a me beat. In summary: Stay away from this place at all cost. To the Caffrey's bartender who treated us like shit last night, everyone is hiring, if you absolutely can't stand serving people with every fiver of your being, which is how things seemed to all of us, go get another job. To Caffrey's, I would dump her, any service professional would have looked at what was delivered by the kitchen, apologized, and asked if she could get us something different. And while you are at it, sort out the quality issues with your kitchen. read more

We were absolutely thrilled that you plated the cupcakes we brought with us, adding doilies on our platters and sprinkling powdered sugar on top. I love it, two Italian Brothers own this Irish pub. The service is excellent, the music is good, very welcoming atmosphere with lots of smiles And great service. The nachos are quite good, i had the chicken Gyro which was on the specials of the day, and Chuck had an open faced roast beef sandwich which he really enjoyed. The fries are definitely a highlight. I hovered over 2 then I decided 3 stars. Yelp's unwillingness to allow us the half star is nuts but I can't change it alone. We stopped in for a few beers at Backwards Flag Brewery (see my review) and decided we had better get something to eat. There isn't a hell of a lot in the area. A friend recommended Caffreys. It was close and despite a Yelp rating of 3 stars we figured we'd try it. It was probably 7 pm when we arrived on a Thursday evening. This place was hopping. We had to wait 10 minutes to be seated which isn't bad but it just confirms it's the only place in town. A lackluster family style menu presented itself. And that should be no surprise. All the normal stuff you would expect. Whatever they are doing apparently works here; my visit not withstanding. I ordered a buffalo chicken wrap with fries. It was "OK". The fries were decent. Our waitress was very nice so I guess that swayed me to go the 3 stars. Not a place I would go out of my way to go to. read more

I had a great experience at Caffrey's. The food was inexpensive and they had a very large selection of options that were all delicious. From the sushi to the wings to the popcorn, everything was awesome. Also, we went on a Wednesday night and there was trivia! Wings are awesome. Fresh and well made. But I got the garlic parmigiano wings- big mistake, they use that blasphemous jarred garlic. Caffrey's Tavern Steak House on Route 9 south in Forked River, has a very fitting motto, "No strangers here, just friends you haven't met." The first new friends you are likely to make is their staff. The hostesses, bartenders and especially the wait staff are as nice as they are efficient. Your best new friend will undoubtedly be the chef who creates some delicious meals and snacks. Inside, you can choose from the dining room, lounge or bar. The decor isn't fancy but you will feel as comfortable as if you were at home. This is the neighborhood bar of choice where all the locals go and bring their families. Sports are playing on multiple televisions and there are video games. The bar has quite a number of drafts and bottled beer. The steaks are outstanding, as are the sandwiches. Pizza is good too. I passed on the sushi but they certainly have it if it is your choice. Everything is tasty and you clean your plate even if you eat to the point of being uncomfortable. I recommend that you give Caffrey's try. read more
