Lotus drinks can sometimes lean way too sweet, but this one was smooth, flavorful, and not overpowering at all, perfectly done. I also grabbed a breakfast burrito and wow. It was packed with hashbrowns, eggs, reindeer sausage, and cheese, served hot and fresh with a side of sour cream and salsa. Super filling, super flavorful, and exactly what you want from a drive-thru breakfast. Service was great too, friendly, efficient, and welcoming, which always makes the experience even better. This cute little coffee shack came in clutch on our recent trip to Anchorage and being just down the street from our hotel made it extra convenient. I had an iced white mocha breve with added English toffee syrup (so yum!), it was nice and smooth, not bitter and the balance between creaminess and sweetness was perfect. I kind of wonder if Alaska's clean, glacial, mountain spring water plays a role in the coffee being so good up here -- I haven't had a bad cup yet -- but I must say, Boom stood out enough to inspire me to leave this review. I also appreciate their large cup being a true large -- it actually seemed bigger than most, which I appreciated. Our barista was helpful and had a very kind demeanor. The fact that this place is open 24/7 is a major bonus in itself. We will definitely make a point to stop by next time we're in town, and you should too. When you do pay, they will hand the card machine to you for processing the transaction or your cash after properly preparing your drink order. Common Grounds has been getting very creative with their promotional menu as of late. There is now an expanded selection of their monthly drink specials and some of them are low-carb or Keto-friendly for those on a diet. It may seem irrelevant at this point since a lot of us feel the need to gorge ourselves especially when we are confined to the house most of the time.
