I've had this spot on my list for awhile, so when my husband wanted to do a coffee date, I thought…read moreit was the perfect time to try it! We have so many good coffee spots in the city and this one seemed so interesting to me! Parking was easy, we walked up and only had to wait a few minutes in line. The menu is awesome, and honestly, their food options are priced really fair. Coffee does seem on the expensive side (two lattes for ~$20) BUT it is speciality coffee afterall. You can also see where they're roasting it, so you know it's fresh. I got the s'mores latte and my husband got a dirty chai. They obsviously use super high quality ingredients AND make syrups in house. Very unique, fresh flavors in both mine and my husbands latte. And both were SO GOOD. Espresso was pulled perfect and had great taste. Their patio is awesome, they have a little indoor space in their greenhouse as well, but we opted for outside since it was a nice morning. It's a beautiful property, and if I ever need a place to sit and work, this would be it. If we lived walking distance, this spot would be dangerous. Definitely one of the more fresh, tastier coffee spots in the city!

Omg this place is sooo fun! I went here with a group on trivia Wednesdays and we had a blast!…read more This is one of the most unique buildings in the STL area as it used to be an old police station. The adjoining cafe, Antagonist, even has jail cells that currently function as booths to sit at, making it one of my favorite places to go to. Not only does Pieces have a fun and cozy atmosphere, the drinks and food there are just as great! Lots of their cocktails are inspired by video games, which I can appreciate! Overall, it's definitely a place I'd go to again on a date or with a big group of friends!

wow, i was really impressed when i came here…read more this place has multiple aspects to it, but the main appeal is the multitude of board games that they have to offer here. the main way it works is that you come in, you tell them how big your party is, and then you can go right ahead and start playing board games. you're allowed to take something like 5-6 at a time, but basically there is an unlimited number of games here that you have access to. they have pretty much all the popular stuff, like catan and exploding kittens, but a lot of other things too which vary in terms of difficulty and other factors while you're sitting at your table, they can also bring you drinks and food, which all looks pretty good even though all i got was a mimosa, which was great and only $6. alternatively, i also saw some people here getting brunch without playing any board games. apparently they have bottomless mimosas here and while i can't remember the price, i recall it being a really good deal lastly, they have a cafe in here where i saw lots of people sitting doing work on laptops. so, they really have everything here

Great coffee, calming atmosphere, healthy veg…read more Salads here are excellent and have some good sources of plant protein including garbanzo beans and egg. Croutons are especially standout, chewy and delicious. But note the menu is limited so don't expect food other than pastries and salad. The foot traffic inside is managed through seating customers as they order which does make the setting less chaotic. Nice atmosphere and decor, I will be back!

This caused me to have an absence seizure and subsequent migraine. Edit: Hi Darcy, I am aware of the need for exterior cameras in any place of business. I do believe you will see that I was clearly on the sidewalk, not on cafe property, when your camera began flashing. There was no audio warning, I rounded the corner and the flashing lights started. To reiterate, because you seem to have not actually read my review before assuming my complaint: there was NO audio warning before the camera began strobing. I am not exaggerating when I say this camera caused me to have a medical event. Please consider motion-activated flood lights and an exterior camera that does not flash a light to secure your building. Your security theatre causes safety problems for those of us just trying to go for a walk in the neighborhood after work. Also, to keep this review fair and balanced, I have had your coffee and it is quite good. I am just as upset to have had this experience as you apparently are to receive this feedback. Personally, if I was informed that I caused this issue for someone, I would demonstrate a bit of concern for their wellbeing. Again, I understand the need for cameras. This is not a review complaining that you have cameras. This is a review to let you know that the specific camera you use is hazardous to people with disabilities, in hopes that you may find the empathy to adjust your CCTV setup. Thanks for responding and please reconsider your specific camera system. In the meantime, I will be sure to direct my photosensitive friends away from The Fiddlehead Fern.
