Walked into a church, walked out with the most delicious sugar cookie and a delicious latte. Quite literally a converted church(it looks like they may still use it as such?) tons of space and quiet for the folks that like a side of studying with their caffeine. Spacious, open, rustic. The workers are awesome. Super polite, and energetic. The sugar cookie was absolutely insane. It may weigh 1 pound, lol. Latte was superb as well. I always enjoy when I have a meeting on south campus because it means I can plan to stay for lunch at Crave! Over the years, I have been to Crave so many times and it's safe to say that I am still a fan! They offer really good coffee and other cafe drinks as well as snacks, sandwiches, soups, salads, etc. I still enjoy the Pesto Grilled cheese just as much as I did when I first had it and it's aways my go to. However, the other day when I went, I opted to try a different menu item. I went with a half salad and a half sandwich (swapping the ham for turkey). Something simple and somewhat health, right? The day I went, it was really nice outside, so my friend and I sat on their patio and enjoyed the sunshine. The workers are always so friendly and since most of them are students, I always enjoy having conversations with them. The inside space has a bunch of tables and it's nice to see so many people there working or studying with the use of their wifi. It's a great spot to work for a few hours if you have the time to do it. Ordering is easy at the counter and then you are given a sign for your table and then they will run the food out to you when it's ready. When you are finished, just clean up your table and throw away your trash so that the net guests can have a clean spot to hang out. read more

Cute coffeeshop with food basic food options. My partner liked the sandwich he got. They use Big Heart teas which is local. I loved my lavender matcha and they actually got thr temperature how I prefer, which is rare. The ambiance is really cool - it's literally a church so high ceilings, stained glass, lots of natural light. Many students studying and doing work. The seating is all basic hard chairs and tables that are kind of wobbly - that's the one thing I'd change to entice a lomger stay. read more

We snuck in here on a Saturday morning- grabbed a couple coffees and chai lattes. Coffee was pretty good. The only milk alternatives they have are oat and almond. On the weekends they don't serve their lunch menu- only breakfast items and they close at 12:30 so keep that in mind. They have plenty of seating, wifi, and a single unisex bathroom. Parking is free right in front of the coffee shop. Service was friendly and music was good! read more

Been to crave at least once every month or two for the past few years because i go to school one minute away. Most of these stars are for the vibes. it's such a dreamy vibe inside with high ceilings and glass stained windows, it's really beautiful. it's a converted church space so a lot of that architecture is still present. i would say it's a bit too loud for like serious studying but i would still go there to do some reviewing and such. drinks -- they have such a wide variety of seasonal drinks and their flavor combinations are always so impressive. if i'm paying $7 for a latte, i'd rather pay for one where lots of effort went into the flavor profile! Definitely check out their tea selections too. food -- i have tried both their breakfast and lunch and both have been great. today i got chipotle chicken sandwich with goat cheese instead of provolone and was yummy. i've gotten all of their salads (their fall one is so so good) (so is the pesto quinoa although i think this was seasonal). their chicken caesar is also good- have def gotten repeats of it and we all know i'm picky ab my caesar salads!! read more

I've been to Crave a bunch of times and can't believe I've never reviewed it! Great place to study on the SLUSOM campus, and the staff is super friendly and welcoming. I really like the music that they play too! I usually get a berries and cream latte with oatmilk, but have also gotten a sandwich once in a while. The chipotle chicken sandwich is a fan favorite and is very tasty! There's some limited parking in the back-- depending on the day it can get pretty crowded. Prices are not cheap, but also not crazy expensive. If you're in the area I'd definitely check it out! read more

I visited this coffee shop this morning to check out a "new coffee" shop I've never been to. The space itself is spacious, with the intention that during rush hour, college students would come here to do their school work, during lunch, or whenever they have things to do (school-related). The space could accommodate an influx of students. As someone who is not actively doing school work or any work that requires me to use my laptop or iPad, this is an okay place to see and experience. I think it is an old church turned into a modern coffee shop that still does Sunday services. This would be a hidden gem for college students who go to SLU. I ordered my usual caramel latte (hot this time) and their lunch sandwich, the pesto turkey sandwich--which was delightful and frankly delicious. I'm surprised that it was delicious! It's a great spot to grab lunch and hang out to do work. The baristas are fast and friendly towards the guests, and the services are fast! read more

Nested in an old church building, Crave has a cool historic and modern vibe and has maintained the strong religious architecture, of which I am a huge fan. Located near SLU medical campus this is a coffeehouse and also a church. It's pretty spacious for dinning in. I wanted to try this immaculate sandwich called Brunch On The Hill and it was so good I ate every bite. This has everything you want in a breakfast sandwich with an egg omelette, turkey, provolone cheese, spinach, pesto cream cheese in between two croissants. Also had a refreshing white mocha to wash it down with. Also got to try the great loaded waffles!! These were so amazing topped with nutella, strawberries and walnuts. read more

I've been wanting to try this place for a while now and finally had some time to get down there. To my surprise, the coffee shop is very near the SLU Campus and there were lots of students inside of course. I love that this is in an old church and I love that there is a cross still on the pulpit. From the first time I walked to the counter I was greeted warmly by the young ladies working. Because this was my first time at the coffee shop I had a bunch of questions for the cashier and she answered them with Grace and enthusiasm. I ordered an oat milk white chocolate mocha with an additional pump of white chocolate and their chicken sandwich. My mocha was made quickly and my sandwich was brought to the table with chips. It was pretty at the time I went with students studying for exams I believe but it was not too noisy. It is wheelchair accessible from the side so that is a plus and it is kid friendly. The only thing I wish is that they had more comfy chairs but that's a personal preference for coffee shops for me. I will be back soon. read more

Crave is a beautiful coffee shop. It's in a church that still gathers for service. They usually have a couple of brews of drip coffee and the baristas/cashiers always are very helpful if you're looking for a specific kind of coffee. I also appreciated the "all of our staff are fully vaccinated" sign. They also have lattes, mochas and the whole espresso drink menu. I went there a few days ago with my partner and we had a working lunch there. We got a couple of the sandwiches and shared them. The food was pretty good too. Only small thing I could say against the place is the ground shaking HVAC system. It can get loud. But that's totally not a deal breaker as there's plenty of covered outdoor seating as well. read more

Cute coffee shop near SLUs Medical Campus. Living in TGE/ Fox Park, this is a really convenient place to stop for a coffee when you're on your way. I have come here for years. In grad school, I used to study here often, because they have a lot of seating, especially for group projects. Whether you have a meeting or you're just wanting a spot to get work done, this is a great place to come. Though I haven't tried any of it recently, they have great breakfast + lunch food options. I usually get a drip coffee. This is one of the only places I know of that sells Switch coffee, so I always get that and want to support that local roaster. Apparently they also use the space for small events and concerts, so I'd love to check one out sometime! read more

I challenged the barista by requesting a flat white. First time wasn't very good, especially as the temp of the milk was too hot. Seeing that I was disappointed they wanted to redo it. The second time was much better, with the appropriate microfoam mixing with the shot, creating a much richer flavor. The subtraction (-2) has to do with the cost of the drink--$5, typical for blue bottle or a high end shop, but not for a place like this. Refills on in-house brew bar coffee is a whopping $.75 (I don't condone it). Sandwiches, ice cream, pastries, ceramic mugs & schwag are available for your pleasure. 3.5 stars. Pretty good coffeehouse near SLUs medical campus. I find myself stopping here every week when I'm on campus. In terms of coffee shops, it's not the best coffee I've ever had, but I do like that they offer local roasts. The high point for me is the bread. I'm a huge fan of breakfast food, and the apple walnut bread is a home run. The banana bread is delicious as well, as is the pumpkin bread. The scones are a little bread-y for my liking (they're like a stale muffin texture, kinda weird) but have good flavor. This converted church coffeehouse is a unique, cool spot tucked into the SLU campus area. I needed to get out of my downtown hotel room to get a more creative vibe and found this on Yelp. One of the main reasons I chose it was because the pictures show how big it is and I could guarantee a spot to cozy up and work. Only problem? My dumbass totally forgot about COLLEGE FINALS week which I was right in the middle of. The place was packed to the brim of nervous, over-caffeinated students. I ended up sharing a table with some folks and it worked out great. The staff was friendly here and pushed me in the direction of some gooey butter cake with my black coffee. Now those native to STL will laugh but I'd never actually tried it before since I'm not from there. It was amazing, although about the richest thing I've ever eaten. Also grabbed a quick lunch, a crossaint turkey sandwich with a sambol/cream cheese spread which was pretty good in a pinch. Cool, unique spot and glad I checked it out. read more

My new favorite cafe! I love the look and feel being in a chapel. It's very spacious inside with many tables so it just passed my other "go to" location, now second favorite, cafe ventana. I came here for lunch one day with my coworkers since our cafeteria food at the hospital across the street was not up to par that day. I've heard a lot of people around campus talk about this place so I was excited to try it. They make a good use of a beautiful old church turned into a cafe. It's a simple setup inside otherwise with a walk up counter and small tables. I ordered the sambal turkey sandwich that ended up being a very generous portion. It was served on a large croissant with a nice siracha spread. It was a nice casual lunch and break from the work monotony I'll definitely stop by again sometime. read more

I've always loved the idea of this Coffee Shop: an Old Church (that still actually holds service sometimes) turned coffee shop to fuel visitors of the SLU Medical Campus. As a medical student, I find myself here often for a quick lunch during the day. It's a great place to meet up with friends, whether on purpose or by happenstance if you're a SLU student. There is plenty of seating, both indoor and outdoor. The staff is friendly and helpful. The coffee is very good and they offer the traditionally wide variety you would expect in a coffee shop! The only reason they are not 5 stars is that I have sometimes had an inconsistent experience with the food. Usually it is really good and makes for a great lunch. However, I have found, once or twice, that it doesn't taste as good as it usually does. I could not tell if it had to do with when I went during the lunch hour, but I was not too pleased. My go to is the grilled chicken chipotle sandwich with a side a chips. Very delicious and very filling. Love the concept and the convenience of this coffee shop! read more
