After visiting the Farmers Market, I needed more coffee, so I stopped in at Piper's Tea and Coffee. I have been a couple of times before, but it isn't near my home area so haven't been often. It is a really cute space with lots of different types of seating. I really enjoy some of the local art they display. Service was friendly, upbeat and with a smile and conversation. I got a Mocha with oat milk, and it came up quickly. I sat for a bit and sipped the mocha; it was really good - lots of chocolate and coffee flavor! They had a pop-up smoothie bowl going on, I had eaten a few things at the market so didn't have room but it looked great! read more

I enjoyed the coffee more than the matcha here, I am more of a matcha person though. I like that they are open until later which is great for studying. The staff is really nice and friendly and the drinks are made quickly. It does get a bit busy and seats fill up but it's a big space. Piper's is the best. It is a cute coffee shop with great lighting and seating. I am a huge fan of their bar in the middle! It adds a nice community feel to the space. The service is always good here and the drinks are even better. I love they have a rotating seasonal menu. My partner had the caramelized banana latte and I tried a sip and can verify it's as delicious as it sounds. Me personally, I'm a matcha fan and I added a lavender cold foam to the top. It was the perfect summer sipper to cool down :) For people using laptops, their wifi is great! They also seem to have a decent amount of outlets so you can stay charged. I was able to find street parking, and I ordered the Iced Caramelized Banana Matcha and a peach pop tart pastry. Both were so good! I make a trip here at least 1x a week because I have yet to find a better matcha in town. While there's a different barista every time I go, they're always so nice and sometimes shower me in compliments! Ive also never seen it super busy but I've never waited longer than 7-8 mins for my drink. One thing I wish is that they had more pastry options, but I guess I should try and go when they're fully stocked up. There seems to only be a few options like a pop tart or muffins when I visit. Other than that, the best place to study or work on a few things as there's never any wait for a table during the workweek (not sure about weekends), and it's pretty quiet inside. They also sell packages and tins of their teas and coffees, as well as artisan chocolates and tea brewing equipment. I decided to stop in here right after having lunch close by and ordered the Moroccan Mint Green Tea as recommended by the barista. It had a nice subtle mint and green tea flavor and I quite enjoyed this hot treat. Their indoor space was also nice. Walking into this place, I had a moment where I thought, "oh no, Ive made a mistake. This is one of those super hipster coffee places that's going to make me feel like an idiot and out of place!" Nothing could have been further from the truth! The baristas were incredibly friendly and helpful, offering to adjust a recipe to be less sweet for one of our party. They answered our other questions without any judgement or eye rolls that can sometimes happen at places like this, We were there in the evening and it was filled with people working on their laptops. Probably 20 or so, and it was super quiet, as everyone was doing their own thing. A beautiful space, which I image is better during the day, probably filled with light and a nice place to sit and work. Lovely place to seek refuge from the heat on a very hot Fourth of July to get a refreshing iced drink. Upon entering the first thing you notice is the light, airy openness of the place. The high white ceilings and abundant windows make this feel welcoming. There is art on the walls done be local artists and available to purchase, but it is displayed in an almost museum like reverence for the white space around the art. There is a space to purchase tea and coffee with accessories. The staff were friendly. Although did have a question about something, s copper pipe with spigots that I did not understand it's purpose. I was told that it is for cold brew. I asked if this was beer and was told it was for soda. Not understanding yet what this 'cold brew' is I gave up and returned to my seat still puzzled. (Perhaps if she would have demonstrated how it worked and allowed me a tablespoon or so to sample it would have been better?). I felt that perhaps I was too aged to understand this concept as the clients looked like young professionals, many taking advantage of the free WiFi available. There were nice seating areas, both at the bar and in couch and chair arrangements. The price seemed slightly higher than other local establishments that are coffee shops that I have visited. Parking is primarily on the street, although if you drive behind the building and travel south on the alley, there is parking available with walk through passages available in the buildings. read more

Great place for both coffee and a little pastry to go and hangout with friends. Great atmosphere. I have been to this place several time this year so far. I definitely will be back! Parking is street parking. I can always find parking near the coffee shop if I go early or about half a block away if I go later. There are two entrances the front and side entrance. I used the side entrance since I park closer to it. There are quite a few seating area and I never had trouble with finding seats when I go here in the morning. The people here are nice. I've been to Pipers a handful of times now. Every espresso drink I have had from Piper's has been delicious. I've brought friends before and they all loved it too. The wait is a little inconsistent sometimes I've had to wait awhile, sometimes it's really quick. It just depends how busy they are. The one thing that bothers me a little about Piper's is that they label the drinks with the name of the drink, instead of using the person's name. I don't know what the reason for this is, maybe they have a good one, but it has caused confusion half of the times i've gone there because I get a pretty common order. It's just always a little awkward when somebody behind you takes your drink or if you have to figure out which one is yours with another customer. Also, I've tried their matcha, and my opinion is that if you like your matcha flavored with honey, it's really good. But if you like it flavored with vanilla, it's not my favorite. With all of that said, the ambiance inside is really lovely and classy. It's a very cute place and unique that the coffee bar is in the middle of the room. It has great natural lighting, which was always something that I loved in cafe for studying. The baristas are all great too from my experience. Everything about Pipers is wonderful. The aesthetic of the spot is airy and light. With the white countertops, gold hardware, and unique wall paper, it gives a super awesome vibe... like you're happy to be there! There is a ton of natural light which I love and think you can never have enough of. I typically get the same thing each time I go lol, which is a nonfat iced latte. They serve them in can glasses which I love! Not sure why, but it's just a nice little extra touch. They carry local items from Whisk and Siftd which is fantastic. We all love a good local collab! It's a great spot to work on your laptop or meet up with friends. I think the only thing that could make it even better would be them adding a patio, but I doubt that will happen due to the building/ space. Wow, probably the best mocha I've gotten in a long time!! It was very clean inside, customer service was great.

We had to park far and walk in the gloomy rain BUT the moment you step inside of Piper's you feel refreshed and energized. The staff were welcoming, friendly, and gave great recommendations! We ordered a hot raspberry white chocolate oat milk latte and it was definitely the best I have ever had! (10/10) We also tried a hot london fog with oat milk and cinnamon honey syrup, which was also a banger in its own London fog way. (10/10) Lastly, we got to try an iced strawberry matcha drink. It's the drink you never knew your inner child needed. (10/10) For food we got a cherry crumble muffin and a gooey butter danish. (8/10 muffin, 10/10 danish) Didn't even know those existed until today but thank god for their existence. If you are looking for a nice spot for coffee and a tasty pastry, look no further. It was great to spend time with my girlfriend! It might even be a nice place to do some work alone or a nice sit down with your mom. Safe to say, it's a guaranTEAd good time. read more

Pipers is such a cute little spot! I took my dog in to the groomers on a weekday morning and decided to work in a coffee shop while I waited. Ended up at Pipers! Very clean and open aesthetic with plenty of working space between bar seating around the edges of the shop along with couches and tables. Didn't have any food this visit but had an Americano with their seasonal Fall Spice blend (highly recommend)! It's was great to have fall flavors without being overly sweet and creamy. To add a home-y touch, coffee was served in real mugs rather than throwaway paper cups! Will definitely be back and will give one of their homemade pop tarts a try! read more

Pipers is a fabulous addition to the new, Crown District that is becoming a hot spot along South Kingshighway. The ambiance is crisp, clean and bright. The white decor, with copper accents, gives this coffee shop an upscale feeling, that has been long overdue in the coffee shops of STL. During my first visit, I enjoyed one of their seasonal drink specials, Rose Hunny Tuxedo Latte. It truly was a treat. Pipers made the Rose Honey Syrup in house and it also used Oberweis Chocolate milk (local dairy) along with White Chocolate Syrup and the shot of espresso. It was garnished with rose petals, just like a fancy cocktail. My friend who was introducing me to her new and favorite coffee shop, enjoyed a Chocolate Covered Strawberry Mocha and its garnish was Dried Strawberries. Again, a classy touch. The baristas were hustling to keep up with the long line that stayed consistent throughout our visit. Lucky for us, we were able to get two stools at the counter and re-charge our phones using the outlets under the counter. Outlets and hooks under bars/counters are one of my favorite things. They do offer a small variety of baked goods from the local bakery, Whisk. In addition to those baked goods, they also offer Macaroons from, La Beaume Co. I'm addicted to macaroons, but I wasn't hungry the day I visited. That gives me an excuse to return. Gotta love it when a new local business, supports other local businesses. The staff was extremely friendly and professional. They were all hustling to keep up with the constant crowd. Even with their hustling, there was a slight wait for the specialty drinks. Lucky for me, I got to meet Peter the owner and congratulate him on this thriving business. Even though I really liked this coffee shop, I have two reasons why I did not give them 5 Stars. 1) None of the retail items had price tags or shelf tags telling you the price. Big inconvenience. 2) Notification of your drinks being ready. Acoustics in the room are bad and when you came to claim your drink, there were no names on them. Many times more then one person was standing there wondering which one was their drink and had to wait for the barista to come back over and explain who's drink it was. Even with a Starbuck's directly across the street, this place is the bomb and I wish them much success. Drink your coffee local. read more
