To my surprise the hot chocolate was a build your own, I received a cup of hot milk, whipped cream on the side, and different types of chocolate truffles to mix in with the milk depending on my preference. The danish and cream puff were some of the best treats, perfect taste, perfect texture, perfect everything! Cakenhagen is a Tivoli gem and I am dreaming of the day I can go back to savor their treats again. I'd give them more than just five stars if I could!

Perfect perfect perfect! Honestly the coziest place in town. Always recommend it to my friends and everybody just loves it. Warm atmosphere and amazing jazz music, good service with friendly attitude, great food (try grilled salmon with asparagus and and salad with grilled shrimps, and salad with goat cheese!). Every time I visit the cafe I am being impressed with creative design like the first time-it is very special and many pieces are hand made. Highly recommend for everybody no matter if you are 2 friends or a big group-I tried both and all the times it was perfect! read more

Everything seemed like it took forever--and I don't like being thirsty especially. As for the food...the garlic bread appetizer was quite tasty. The chicken pasta and mushroom pasta dishes were good, but keep the salt & pepper handy. I normally travel with a small bottle of hot sauce "just in case", but I forgot it...if you do this too, bring it! The big plus about this place is that they are open late and have dine-in in this area. If you don't want to eat...great...I do think this is a nice place to just order a drink and maybe an appetizer (or dessert) to just chill after a long day. Apropos is within walking distance of a lot of different hotels in the area. However, the metro/subway station isn't far...maybe 300 meters of walking distance. Moreover, there is parking along the street if you have a rental car and/or you live over here and are visiting with your own vehicle.

I chose the Vegetarian burger made from Panko fried celery, bread crumbs, raclette cheese, sauerkraut cornichon, onion confit and special sauce. Pommes frites with aioli accompanied the burger. I opted to skip the raclette ( too strong a cheese for me) and the sauerkraut which I'm not a fan. I must admit, this is one of the best veggie burgers I have ever had.. I know it's a pretty powerful statement. Additionally, I dislike celery and was not going to order this, however, I took a chance. I was glad I did as I enjoyed every bite. I chose a Sauvignon Blanc to wash it down , and it too was delicious. The vibe here is very French bistro or if you are a New Yorker, it reminds me very much of Odeon in Lower Manhattan, which I love.
