We moved to Meridiana recently and have been meaning to come give Café Sol a try ever since! We had heard good things about their brick oven pizza specifically, so of course we tried the pepperoni. We also tried the bacon cheeseburger w/ sweet potato fries and loaded pulled pork fries. We came during happy hour when their cocktails are $2 off and tried the "bloody moly" and the Moscow mule, as well. Everything we had was super solid and I could see us making this a regular spot since it's here in the neighborhood and so convenient. Regarding the food, we got a half order of the loaded fries which ended up being way bigger than anticipated - a super good deal being only $4! Could definitely be a meal. The pizza was also yummy w/ a really good sauce and plenty of cheese. The burger was simple but tasty, especially when we added a little mustard, and the sweet potato fries were crispy and seasoned w/ what seemed like a cajun spice mix. We got too full to try dessert, but saw bread pudding and churros on their menu, so will have to return and give those a try! read more

I ordered the chicken wrap with sweet potato fries to go it took a little under 15 minutes. The server was so nice and let me know what sides to order. The first bite was on point and every other bite after. I will definitely be trying the other items on the menu soon. read more

It is a hard place to grade. It is in the middle of a cool community center in a subdivision that is way outside were you would thought a nice subdivision would be. I can tell if I lived in the area I would probably come here a bunch. But driving from Pearland proper, the pictures and reviews were a bit inflating. The jambalaya rolls were ok, the diping sauce was good. The fish tacos were good. the pizza was greasy. I can say that Cafe Sol was on the edge of being very good, but everything I had let me down a little. I probably came in with high expectation base on the reviews and pictures. I can say everything looked very good, however it was mostly just ok, and the biggest issue was that the price was a bit above average. In town visiting a friend & she brought me here. It's a smaller, establishment with an inviting atmosphere. Loved the food, "the truffle fries be truffling!" I had the garlic & herb lamb chops, with broccoli and sweet potato praline casserole. The lamb chops were good & tender. The broccoli was good & well seasoned. I went on a tour of the neighborhood with my husband and they gave us a free gift card to try the restaurant. I was pretty excited because I really like the neighborhood and really considering moving here. The place was cute there was only a few ppl there. Why they lost so many stars was because after we ordered we waited and waited and waited ...the chef in the bask signaled to us to ask if it was our food because we were the only ones who hadn't been served . I signal back and said I hope so. Finally one of the waitresses brings our food but before that she's like well there wasn't a ticket on the food so idk who food this is. My husband and I are legit the only people in there who haven't been served and there was only two other families. Our initial waitress disappeared . Let's jump right in... Went here with my girl when she came visit me at my new spot. It's in our subdivision, so why not. Came in and was acknowledged quickly with smiles. We sat down and ordered the half basket of loaded fries, bbq version. Ok!!!! These fries were crunchy meaning they just fried these joints and then layered em with the goodness. Imma just say we both tore them things up. For our meal we both ordered the Cafe Sol Spicy burger with the impossible patty. At first glance I said "why the heck this patty so red!" Ok but I'll try anything once, glad I did. The burger was good and just the right amount. The bun buttered and toasted (you know that put the homemade touch on it.) We also got the Ceaser salad with the burger instead of more fries. While sitting there I noticed a lot of young hugh schoolers working there, this made my heart happy. The previous management and staff were on point!!!!Theme nights, great menu specials, etc. However it's currently under new management again. I will most likely decide to spend my money elsewhere. I went in and felt the change immediately. I was no longer greeted when I walked in and I waited 15 minutes behind the register before I was helped ( it was only two parties there one of which had been served). In additions to this I overheard the waitress say that she didn't want the table she was waiting because she felt they weren't going to tip so she transferred the table to a co worker. To top this all off I ordered a 5 pcs boneless wing and received 13 crumbs from the bottom of the bag. Not sure if they felt they were doing me a favor but the wings were terrible and and 13 crumbs don't equal a regular 5 pcs. Wish I took a picture before I sent it back I couldn't believe this. The food was great and the customer service was some of the best I've had in Houston. The menu has a wide variety of food and the prices were good for what you got. I recommend the nachos as an appetizer. Special shout-out to the chef who came out to talk to us and make us feel at home! First time to try this place. It is hidden with a great atmosphere and setting. I had the taco trio and it was good, the added cabbage was a nice twist. They did get the taco order wrong, I asked for two short rib and one chicken. I got three short rib tacos. The short rib meat was tasty however, it could have been cut a little smaller. My wife had fiancé had the margherita pizza. The pizza had a great taste and good flavor however, the dough was chewy. I recommend a little less water to the dough mixture also, a little better distribution of the basil would help. Also the young waiter did bring the water glass and tea glass 3/4 full and we did have to ask for refills. He was polite and he did try hard. He was also very friendly and courteous. The manager did come by our table to great us and give all the specials they have for the week. He was very nice, courteous and professional. And I watched him take the time to talk to everyone in the café, which was a very nice touch. I would recommend trying the café. I will got back as, they do have a nice Sunday brunch and a great looking chicken & waffle I want to try. I did give it 4 stars, as I graded the café on all aspects of the establishment, not just the food. The place is a cute place in a food desert. The staff engaged with guest which is great. I think management should look at the menu on the QR guest are asked to scan. I ordered an oasis burger received no bacon and broche bun, instead received sesame bun and was was charged $4 for bacon although the menu said the burger came with it. In addition, there should be verbiage posted stating there is an 18% gratuity. Not a major concern but I could wee if someone comes in with fixed funds this could be a concern. read more

Wow. I'm so happy to live here and have this amazing restaurant seconds away..... but let's be honest.... even if it wasn't I would still drive here. We ordered wings , a burger and the brisket potato skins. The brisket potato skins were sooooo yummy. The ranch that came with it was especially good. The burger was great as well and the fries were DELICIOUS. Lastly the wings were great EXCEPT, I would not reorder the lemon pepper wings. The bbq ones were 10/10. The food, atmosphere, views, and my handsome food companion were excellent! This place of loveliness is a hidden gem in Meridiana. They have happy hour everyday Tuesday-Sunday and the drinks were made well and very spirited. We both had 2 and we felt it. I ordered the rum punch (gone fast before I can snap a pic) and a strawberry margarita on the rocks. The hubs ordered 2 old fashions. We ate off the happy hour menu first: brisket stuffed potato skins (absolutely delicious...ordered 2 of those), buffalo sol wings (spicy and good), and fried green tomatoes ( they were ok, cut too thick for me). We were then told of their pizza special, 2 pizzas, an order of wings, and 2 drinks for $22! So we ordered that for the late night munchies or tomorrow's lunch. We forgot to get our drinks but it's all good......we'll definitely be back and that's a fact! read more

I usually wouldn't leave a review like this ! I'm extremely disappointed. My son was playing at the court and I sent him money to pick up his food @8:15ish. He literally was waiting for 45 min and I asked him what was taking him so long . He said " Mom they keep passing me up and I'm asking for my food and they dismissed me and said hold on" . He said he think because he is a child . He said they kept asking him to move and looking over them . Not to mention he never received a receipt or anything . So around 9 . I get out my bed , extremely tired from work . I come up there to check on the food and I'm told it's coming .. fast forward to 9:55pm. Im still waiting, at this point I asked should I cancel it ? She reassured me the food was still coming . So at 10:15 a lady approach me and said she will refund money back but still give me food. I waited for 20 min and still no food. So I left . This is our second time here. I wanted to like it because the place is super cute! Maybe it's the pandemic but their food is seriously lacking. We had the burger which came with burnt bacon and big chunks of "sweet potato fries". Maybe she one of those. The "Alfredo" is a pile of mashed up overcooked Cajun style (too spicy for my kids to eat). The pizza my husband ordered was decent. That or he was really hungry. Nothing was great. What went wrong with this place? I used to go before the pandemic quite often. It was fun, festive and the service was good. The food and the drinks were always on point and had specials. Now it seems they have been under new management for a little while and I don't think I will be giving them another shot. Me and my small family of three went inside and was told we could sit outside. Only to be forgotten about. When no one came outside we went inside and were blatantly ignored. It wasn't busy at all and all employees were either talking amongst themselves or on their phone. They clearly do not care if this business makes any money. This is a shame. read more

First off, the smell of this place is amazing. the moment you walk in, you know you're in for a treat. The drink menu was outdated, but Melody accommodated our requests anyways. This place used to be great when it first opened, but it isn't run by an actual restaurant professional. It's run by Rise Development who has no idea how to run a restaurant. They are consistently out of supplies, don't always open when they say they'll be, never answer the phone, and half the items on their menu they don't even make anymore. We have a few new restaurants coming to the area so I expect Cafe Sol to be out of business soon unless Rise decides to get a grip and let someone who knows what they're doing take over the space. There is no reason the cafe shouldn't be doing well. They only have themselves to blame. read more
