I was running some errands in lower Pearland, or Manvel as they like to call it. I decided to stop in for a quick bite since I had some freebies through the Whataburger app. This was my second time stopping at this location. First time wasn't the greatest but I chalked it up to growing pains. It's pretty new and it sits in the huge shopping complex on the corner of Highway 6 and 288. It's pretty small inside and has a new design where kiosk ordering is the new way to order. A human will take your order but good luck getting anyone to acknowledge you. I was having issues with my app and claiming my offer and it took awhile to get some help. It seems like alot of the staff is in the high school or college age range and they were more interested in socializing with each other and friends in the dining area. Once i made my order, it took a very long time to arrive. I customized my burger and the receipt and the stickers on the wrapper showed what I wanted. What I got was not what I ordered. I was not in the mood to deal with anyone in the front and just ate it. Whataburger still reigns supreme in my book as far as chains go, but this location has alot of work to do to live up to the greatness that was once Whataburger. New location who dis!! Whataburger... Yay! This is a hot new location that everyone has ravvvved about, so I have high expectations. Customer Service: Tiffany is super sweet. I haven't been here in a while and it shows. She made some great recommendations. However, there was a young lady that came in to complain about being in the drive through and how long they took and how she still get her whole/ correct order. Clealiness: It looks like they are trying their best, but perhaps they need a bit more training. Looks as though the floors haven't been swept, the napkins need to be refilled, etc. This may be a shift change problem, I'm not sure, but there are opportunities for improvement here. Parking: This is a new shopping center and this WB is pretty popular. It has its own parking spaces, so you shouldn't have to park and walk far. Food: The food was just okay. Typical fastfood. However, I don't recommend the fries. They are shoestring fries that taste like a bag of oil. Maybe they were overdone! I got the Honey BBQ Chickenstrip sandwich. It was just okay as well. Essentially, this is a great place to stop if you just don't feel like cooking or if you have a taste for it. It's just not for me! Not gonna lie - my #5 combo, a Whataburger With Bacon And Cheese, fries, and a drink, was really good. I love being able to get one 24 hours a day! But the floor was so greasy that standing up was difficult, and there's just no excuse for that. read more

Everything can improve. Including the manager. Curbside order was wrong and his solution was for me to take a picture of the receipt so that in the future they can make it right! Ha! Service is terrible. I understand mistakes happen (like I order 3 combo meals and you only give me 2) but when I kindly point out the (hopefully honest) mistake. Absolutely terrible service and staff...brand new location takes 30min for three burger meals and a kids meal, and the staff is loaded with absolute gutter trash. Yesterday 3 of us had lunch here. Two of us got sick about 2 hours afterwards. I ordered the fish sandwich and got sick. One guy ordered the fired chicken sandwich and got sick also. Much sicker than me The one guy who ordered a burger was fine. So I would never eat at this place again and would recommend that most people do not visit. If you see these 1 star reviews on yelp, Believe them before you spend your time and money. If you ignore be prepared to wait an hour for your food and still get cold or missing food in your order. I spent a whole hour waiting in the drive through just to get one cold burger, another cold burger with no meat, no fries or spicy ketchup. Always a long line!! Not because it's super busy but because they are so inefficient. One of 3 employees standing around outside lets me know they are seriously understaffed today..... okay I'm thinking maybe 10 extra minutes not 35!! This is the slowest place. It doesn't matter what time of day we come the drive through only has 1 lane open most of the time. I'll do a short version and a long version. Short version, literally a waste of money to give to a shit store like this. Long version, I have been assistant manager, general manager, shift lead, delivery driver, for plenty of food places such as dominos, rosatis pizza, Marcos pizza, Olive Garden, chilies, Wendy's, and many more. I've even had jury duty and a was the speaker of the jury for a food related case. So sadly I know fast food. This place is literal shit. They had one lady up front that was exceptional, nice smile and kept me up to date with my order to a degree but everyone else just fire them. How can a general manager of a fast food place see me waiting over 30 mins( literally 30 mins as I was on the phone when I arrived and got off the phone to complain and the phone call was 33 mins) when it's literally dead inside the lobby besides me and one other person and the drive through was relatively slow as well. They had st least 5-10 people standing around laughing and having a jolly good time getting paid to not do a damn thing but move food around so it looks like they're being productive on a computer / system level. I'm so baffled not only will I never go to whataburger I will make sure I voice my distaste across my small few thousand followers on my social media accts which isn't much but it's crazy that people get hired and paid to waste my time. The general manager was sitting in the food court area on their laptop and cell phone and saw me within 5 mins or so of my arrival so anyone with a brain or knack for business would assess that it's dead so if someone is waiting for more than 10 mins for 1 order which consisted of a burger and drink they should probably check and get an update on what's going on. This is not fast food. The employees don't seem to care at all about doing a good job or being efficient . I sat at the window for 17 minutes after they already charged my card, and could not get the attention of anyone to ask why it was taking so long. When I finally got someone's attention and asked for a refund, the manager came and told me it was almost done and was a I sure, No sorry for the wait or any explanation. I forgot to ask for cheese so when I got home I went to add cheese and noticed the my beef patties were so thin, they had holes in them like Swiss cheese. This order was curbside. First time here. Brand new location and I expected fresh food and clean restaurant. I was dinning in at 6:35 am no other customer in the place and got shitty service, had to wait 7 min for someone to take my order. I noticed the place was dirty like tables were not wiped down, fries on the floor, dirty benches. Bathroom not clean, TP pieces and salt packs on the floor, trash hasn't been emptied, black long hair in the sink and floor. Did someone have a fight in the ladies bathroom??? Once I received my food the fries were not fresh, barely warm and soggy. The burger was ok. I did not eat the fries and was very disappointed. The ketchup and soda was the only thing good. I really give places the benefit of the doubt because I've been in their shoes before but this was RIDICULOUS. I got into the drive-thru line around 12:05 and didn't leave that place until 1pm all because I was waiting on my order that they apparently cancelled or something! I had multiple staff coming up to me asking what the name on the order was and never giving me an update on what was taking so long, where should I pay (as I was paying with cash), and I never got an answer on what even happened to my order. Worst service ever at this location. Drive Thru order. Chicken Strip MEAL, came with no fries, no sauce and my toast was not even toasted, it was just a slice of bread thrown in the box. Branch Manager needs to be fired. Restaurant is brand new and had ZERO operational function, it took me over an hour to wait for my food (that I never got) and I saw multiple other customers have problem with wait times and incorrect food orders as well. all employees seemed overworked with absolutely no leadership to handle the very busy restaurant. read more

My second visit to this Whataburger. First visit was for 3 bacon Cheeseburgers and fries. Got home, no bacon on burgers and fries were very cold. Called and spoke to Manager, where she told us that they are in the process of training personnel, so pretty much, so what. Meanwhile my receipt said I was charged for 3 slices per burger equating 9 slices. My second visit, which was today, we ordered 5 items consisting of a jalepeno bacon Cheeseburger meal with fries, & Dr pepper shake. Also a sweet and spicy burger and a large onion ring. We asked the young man to hold on while we checked our order, due to our last experience. Of the five items ordered, we were missing fries and milkshake, and to top it off, no bacon on the jalapeño bacon Cheeseburger. By the time this was all straighten out and we got home, we had a bunch of cold thrown together burgers, fries, and our dr pepper shake was a chocolate shake. I will not be patronizing this Whataburger no time soon, and I will also tell friends and family not to go there either. Obviously I am not alone, because yelpers have only given you one star. The Mc Donald's and other new Restaurants in that area has been on point.
