They seem to be very professional, courteous and informative when it comes to the basic service I went there for. I'd gone there during the winter to get Nitro in my tires, while I was also planning on getting my usual 3,000-mile oil change. It was the good folks at Grease Monkey who explained that these days, and with the 2003 car I have, oil doesn't really need to be changed more often than 5,000 miles -- I'm old school, and have always used 3,000 as the rule. Point being, they didn't have to tell me what they did -- it showed that they were more interested in good service, over agreeing to a premature oil/filter change, and making money when it wasn't necessary. I passed on the option for synthetics and combos thereof, and went for the basic 30-weight oil. Folks were very friendly like I'd mentioned. Since I don't work, I went and drove by there when it looked as though they weren't taking care of many customers, so I don't think I was there longer than 25 minutes, and got everything done. There were no high pressure sales for unnecessary things either, which I appreciate. I'll be using them from here on out, or will change this review if they're not as good as what I've seen so far.

Two things concerned me 1) that it may come off while driving and create all kinds of havoc 2) that the rental company would blame me. I knew perfectly well that I hadn't driven the car in anyway to cause it. I won't use this rental car company again because it's the 2nd car I've had from them with problems. In any event the team here were very professional, friendly and quick to figure out how to fix it. It took some definite problem solving which I think they enjoyed. Their pricing was extremely fair on top of that. I'll be moving to this area in a few years and hope they maintain all their good qualities. I surely would go back.

We recently purchased the vehicle used, so was unaware of the condition on the break pads. I scheduled an appointment with Rainey's automotive and dropped off the vehicle the next day. Promptly, the mechanic personally called me, and told me that my breaks were not bad, they were about 1/2 life left, but the rotors looked like they had surface damage from being too hot. He resurfaced the rotors, and it took care of the problem. The mechanic could have lied, and told me the breaks were bad, and made more money, but was honest. Honesty and integrity go a long way in my book. I will be back! It's great to have a mechanic that you can trust! It's one of the advantages of our small town :). Definitely an asset to Lenoir! It stands to reason, people sometimes have an off day; however, with the most recent experience(s) I've had, with the lack of service at the Lenoir Walmart Auto Service Center, I'm very frustrated with the staff. I purchased my tires at this location and have them rotated (free of charge) every time they need it. I was having my oil changed here also until recently. My main reason for this posting is to advise others if you are looking for complete and competent, customer service, you may want to look elsewhere. When I inquired on how they handle their service appointments, it's first come, first serve. So, when walking in to get service, you're looking at a minimum wait time of 1-1/2 to 2 hours before they even begin service. I understand service takes time, but there seems to be a shortage of staff, lack of concern for the customer and things just do NOT flow smoothly. I have witnessed (on multiple occasions) a male associate taking personal phone calls while in the midst of consumers waiting for help. I originally chose Walmart because some of the independent locally owned shops have limited operating hours that do not fit my lifestyle. Since Walmart, has varying hours I thought this would be more convenient for me. However, after the most recent experiences, I'll find a way to maintain my vehicle from the independent service centers.
