    47. Grilled Oyster On the Half Shell / Hào Nướng Mỡ Hành Đậu Phộng

I've came here 2 more times after our first visit and my opinion has definitely improved on this place. This place gets pretty busy so just keep in mind you might have to wait before getting seated. As for food, we ordered the 3lb combo (1 crawfish, 2 shrimp) in sweet California mild, rice, fries and grilled oysters. The combo came out pretty fast. I really love this sweet California sauce- it's creamy and delicious. I would even try medium since I hardly taste the spice for a mild. The fries and grilled oyster took a while to come out. Fries were good. The grilled oysters were yummy but I don't think I'd order them again. Service can be a bit slow. I would ask them for more limes or a bowl and they would forget and I would have to ask them again. However, I will say the workers here are very kind! Overall, good food, ok service - definitely coming back!

Stopped into this spot because me and my partner in crime were hungry after a long day of ocean dwelling. Both being huge fans of seafood and Cajun food, I looked up what was close by on the way home. This spot was small and jam packed busy at almost 9pm when we got there. Moderately decorated but not really Cajun themed 3/5. I ordered mussels and he ordered shrimp, plus some wings on the side. The service was quick, almost too quick, and I felt a bit rushed to order. I'm sure it's because they were packed and were trying to turn as many tables as possible, but it still felt a bit much, service gets a 3.75/5. I ordered my muscles sweet California style and wood ordered his shrimp spicy Cajun. Mine were perfect hard 5/5 for flavor, cook, and presentations. Woods shrimp was a 4.75/5 because it was a bit too spicy. The wings were basic flavor but well cooked, 4/5. Overall I give this place a 4/5

My all time favorite seafood boil place. They are open till 4am so it's a great place for late night munchies. Pro tip if you come after 11pm you get a free pound of any seafood. My go to is also ways one of their combos with sweet California with mild spice. The grilled oysters are always a hit as an appetizer if you are feeling extra hungry. The restaurant is pretty small so I wouldn't recommend coming with a group lager than 4 unless you come during off hours

I've been eyeing Cajun Bistro 7 for awhile now. Located in the very busy shopping mall where parking is a headache sometimes. I got a takeout order, but the service was ok - not bad. The decor is simple and modest. They do have several tables that they can moved together if you have a large party of 8+. I do like that they open up til late hours. Garlic Parmesan Noodles (3/5) - They gave a decent portion, which was a plus. The noodles used in my order were Linguine noodles and a bit overcooked. The flavor was mild and bland. Not one of the better tasting garlic noodles I've had. I'll be back to try their other dishes.

I've came here regularly but the quality was down recently: - The crawfish had less sauce than before, and the garlic noodles were overcooked. - The combination fried rice was kinda wet, it should be drier to get the authentic taste of fried rice. By the way, the service was friendly and fast. The restaurant was clean and had a lot of seats.

My friend and I were sooo excited to come here since we came here before and the food was very good. We came in on Wednesday at around 6pm and there was no wait and only 2 other parties inside, however it did take 40 min for the food to come out. We ordered the sweet California 3 pound combo- it was definitely NOT what we got last time. Instead of a garlic buttery sweet sauce it was just straight up CLUMPS of mayo- I even had to double check with the staff that it was sweet California. Also got the garlic parm noodles and they were overcooked and falling apart. The noodles tasted like they were covered in mayo too. Overall I'm really sad that this was a disappointing experience since we were looking forward to it and it took so long to come out. Not a single customer or food delivery person who came in had their food out in anything close to "on time". They were always told 10 more minutes for 30 to go by. We hate wasting food and this was not a cheap meal. 3lb combo was $2 extra if 2lb were crawfish (which is what we ordered) and we could not finish it. It was truly inedible because it was just clumps of mayo :(

Cajun Bistro 7 was the most random late-night decision that turned into one of the best food memories in a while. We pulled up around 2:30AM, slightly buzzed and somehow fully committed to a seafood boil in the middle of the night. Honestly? Zero regrets. First of all, the place was surprisingly packed for that hour which immediately made us trust the process. We ordered a huge seafood boil with king crab legs on the side and fried rice, and we completely grubbed out. Everything was buttery, flavorful, messy, spicy, and exactly what you want after a night out. The fried rice was ridiculously good too and somehow became one of the sleeper favorites of the whole meal. Still can't get over the fact they're open until 4AM. We've literally talked about going back multiple times since. Such a clutch late-night spot.

One random 2 a.m. side quest to Cajun Bistro 7 turned out to be one of the best food adventures I've ever had. Since that night, it has become the only seafood boil spot that I consistently come back to. My go-to order is the shrimp and crawfish with their Sweet California sauce, along with a side of garlic noodles. The Sweet California sauce is what keeps me returning. It's not your typical Cajun seafood boil sauce--it has a unique flavor that's completely its own and sets this place apart from every other seafood boil restaurant I've tried. Depending on when you visit, the restaurant can either be packed or nearly empty. It's a smaller space, and large parties tend to come through often, so wait times can vary. One thing to keep in mind is that the host, server, and food runner are often the same person. Because of that, I always try to give them some grace. If you need something, just let them know, and they'll do their best to take care of you as quickly as possible. Don't let the small exterior fool you--this place is absolutely delicious. Whether it's 11 a.m. or 3 a.m., I'll happily find myself back here for another seafood boil.

The food here is a 10/5. Seriously, I've been eating crawfish regularly in San Jose for over 20 years and have never had a sauce like the Sweet California. It's so unique and addicting with a perfect sweetness to it that isn't overwhelming with a slight creaminess and not as savory as most other seafood boils. The crawfish they use is amazing as well, it must be a different kind from most others because the meat is more tender and sweet. I have no problem sucking the claw meat out where as other restaurants I have to dig inside the claw to pull out the meat. Soooo good and I visit as often as I can. Friendly service. They offer other food options as well like Bun Bo Hue, Bun Rieu, etc, but the seafood boil is so good that's all I ever get here. It's also open till 4am!!! Club and seafood boil after?

I love this seafood boil place! I've been on the hunt for a new favorite seafood place and this one is it. I love their fresh seafood taste, especially the combo boil with their Sweet California flavor. It's creamy, not too sweet and has a nice savory kick. My family loves their shaken beef and garlic noodles plate, the lamb chops plate and on a few occasions I've ordered their Bun Rieu and was pleasantly surprised at how good it was. I didn't think a place that excelled so well in their seafood boil game would be able to also make delicious soup, but this place nails it! The garlic noodles here are silky and tasty, the meat here is grilled to perfection and the soup is filled with all kinds of delicious morsels like the chunky fried tofu in a rich, flavorful tomato based broth. Their service is quick and friendly, you only need to raise a hand and they're quick to check on you for water refills. The restaurant is a small hole-in-the-wall type of vibe but its charming. They have about several tables and it can get very busy. I always see a ton of people phoning in for pickup orders . I like to make it before the dinner rush because on a typical Thursday night I've heard them quote a 2 hr wait. Bistro 7 shares the parking lot in a very busy shopping plaza so also be prepared to drive around looking for parking.

Service 2/5: had to ask twice for straws, they forgot about our order of fries so it came when we were almost done with our meal Ambiance 3/5: dirty but homey, no music so it was awkward you can hear people cough and sneeze, appreciated how gloves and napkins were on the table Shrimp spicy sweet california 4/5: creamy, sweet, spicy, tangy, unique, shrimp was plump & cooked well Garlic noodles with shaken beef 4/5: needed more garlic, soy sauce plenty of beef and noodles, big portion Fries with cajun seasoning 2/5: wish they served normal cajun fries, cajun seasoning separate, seasoning hit the back of your throat, fries resembled mcdonalds

I went here with a group of friends for the first time, after we had a craving for seafood boil. This place offered mussels, crawfish, shrimp, and clams, with 1-pound bowls, 3-pound combos, or 4-pound combos, along with corn, sausage, and potatoes. I ordered a pound of mussels with the Sweet California sauce (Original Louisiana and Lemon Pepper were other options), potatoes, and a side of sticky rice. The sauce was DELICIOUS! I felt like my serving of mussels was very generous, steamy, and flavorful. Service was a bit slow, however, we also did eat-in on a Saturday evening in a full restaurant. I'll definitely be coming back!

Used to be my favorite seafood boil spot because of their Sweet California sauce but they changed the recipe and I'm surprised that not many people have mentioned it. It tastes so heavily of mayonnaise now and has lost that signature Sweet California flavor. Not sure what happened but I noticed this change after they became viral on TikTok.. weird.

I think so, it's spicy sauce with mayo I believe

Ordered: Shackie's Sauce (Hot) Shrimp & Mussels Combo Snow Crab Clusters Garlic Noodles Garlic Fries The seafood boil was nowhere near the quality it used to be. The corn tasted old, the shrimp and snow crab didn't taste fresh, and the snow crab clusters had barely any meat. By the time I cracked everything open, it felt like there was more shell than seafood. The mussel shells even had barnacles on them, which I've never seen here before. It made the seafood feel like it hadn't been cleaned as well as it should have. The garlic fries were crispy, but that's it. It was weird--I could see the garlic and was literally eating it, yet there was no garlic flavor. The garlic noodles used to be one of my favorite items because they were bold and packed with garlic. Now they've definitely toned the flavor down, and they're just not the same anymore. It's honestly disappointing because this place used to be one of my favorite seafood spots. Dinner & weekends are ~$36, with weekday lunches being cheaper; I find that this is about the same as or cheaper than what I would pay at an à la carte-style spot. Parking was really easy, as it's in a massive plaza with plenty of parking. I thought the interior alright; it was pleasant but not notably nice. The service was quite good--our orders came out quickly, our empty bowls were cleared fast, and we never had trouble getting their attention. They have a decent selection of hot pot broths, with individual pots for each customer. Their sauce bar is pretty standard, and they have a little dessert bar also. I found the desserts a little lacking (though they had mango sago, which was fun), but there is a decent amount of fresh fruit (mostly melons). They have a menu with fried appetizers & main proteins--the selection is on the smaller side, but I think it is sufficient. The fun part is the conveyer belt! They have all the sides you would normally expect--spinach, cabbage, several types of mushrooms, noodles, rice cakes, seafood, and the like. Everything on the belt is refilled really quickly, so I never felt like I was waiting too long for any item. Ultimately, I will say that I feel this spot is great if you have a big appetite and don't mind a somewhat smaller range of options. I do think that they cover most ingredients that you might expect from a hot pot place, so I didn't really notice the restrictions much (I'm also pescetarian, to be fair--the meats definitely seem fewer in range).

I remembered this spot had a dish of steamed clams in a basil and ginger broth that reminded me of my dad's Filipino version. I came back because I craved it and since I wasn't feeling 100%. This brought me back to life. It was so good and fragrant, which definitely brought me back to my childhood. I decided to also get a few more dishes since I'm acclimating to the Vietnamese culture. The gỏi was okay. Will not return.
