This is by far probably the worst restaurant I have ever been too. The food along with the service/management was ATROCIOUS. For starters I called in a to go order, let me say this, their menu is very misleading. You assume you are getting big portions of food for cheap prices but they literally give you scraps. My order was very simple yet they managed to mess up everything. We had the boudin balls, seasoned fries (which they did not bag), a house salad with grilled fish and the jambalaya with grilled fish. My salad was thrown together with the smallest piece of fish and 2 small pieces of onions. Their fish tasted like frozen fish you could get from WALMART. My boyfriends "yaya" bowl was advertised as jambalaya with SIX strips of fish. He only received TWO. I called the restaurant because I wanted a refund!!! They gave me such a hard time. I have worked in the restaurant industry so I know that it is easier to replace a meal rather than a full refund. The manager said she had to call her boss to get permission to make a new order WTF!!! After being on hold for at least 30 min, I was told to bring back the food ( i didn't even want keep it) and I could receive my order. Why would you take back food in the middle of a pandemic? IDK !! No apologies were given just side eyes and rude remarks. If you can PLEASE STAY AWAY from this restaurant. What bothers me is they have the nerve to call this CAJUN CATCH. I would rather eat Captain D's or better yet STARVE than to ever give them business again!!! read more

My grandma wanted to check this place out because she wanted some gumbo. My grandma has a really bad reaction to anything that's really spicy. Well my grandma asked the cashier if she could try a sample to see how spicy the gumbo was. The cashier was VERY nice and asked to employees in the back for a sample. After reading about this new place in the local paper I had to try it. Drove 27 miles to Zachary to see how good it was. Ordered a combo of fried catfish and shrimp and they were perfectly cooked but a bit bland. The fries were quite good also. I also had a bread pudding for dessert and it was great. Took home a seafood gumbo but found it lacked much flavor and contained mostly crab claw fingers. I will be back to see how things are going with this promising new place. read more

I was first introduced to this "hole in the wall" by my son who lives in Zachary two years ago and I have gone back several times, all producing a desire to walk away with more food and return as soon as possible!!. The last try was a Smoked Chicken Salad. It was so good that I have gone back twice and bought two more containers, which by the way are very reasonable in price. It is also noted that their menu renders the client a diverse and exiting choices of food, all those that I have chosen were excellent. Strongly recommend them and they are now at a larger facility. We tried this restaurant last night. We had been told if was pretty good. Well, we probably will not be going back. I ordered the special of the day which was chicken tenders, mashed potatoes and gravy, corn on the cob and a roll. The chicken tenders were pretty good a d were a good size. However the potatoes were cold and the gravy on them was only lukewarm so it couldn't warm them up. My husband ordered the shrimp platter. His 12 shrimp were extremely small, almost the size of popcorn shrimp, hard and very fishy tasting. In contrast, my daughter ordered a hamburger. She said it and the fries were good but nothing exceptional. I'm sorry our experience was not good because it would be nice to have a place like that in zachary rather than having to drive into Baton Rouge. read more

I have had seafood in the past and it was good. Today I wanted to try their lunch special red beans and rice, fried pork chops, corn bread and peach cobbler. It sounded real good and for a good price of $7.95. The service was terrible. My meal arrived after my 2 friends finished their meal and it was cold. If that was not bad enough the rice was hard and dry, the beans taste like they came out of a can and the pork chops tasted like they had been warmed over. The corn bread, and peach cobbler were real good I'll give it 5 stars. I will go back but not for their lunch special. read more

Great food for a small establishment. Menu variety is awesome, and has something for everyone, particularly the sandwiches. Compared to the handful of places that swing and miss at seafood around the Baton Rouge area, this place is pretty solid. I've had the burger and the seafood, and was not disappointed by either one. I would disregard the C U Next Tuesday (Glenda) that goes around burning restaurants on Yelp because they don't reward her laziness and obviously rotten attitude. It's not McDonald's, it's a small place that dishes out homemade food, so be patient and polite, and you'll be rewarded. Excellent spot! read more

Seriously good food. We enjoyed everything we ate here. There are too many great items to mention but the Pistollets are fantastic. Really everything was great. The service was over the top. Jenna explained the menu to us and really made the experience truly outstanding. We have told all our friends in the area about Cajun Catch and we will be back anytime we are anywhere near Zackary. This place has awesome food. My mother-in-law who knows food had the shrimp and said it was the best she ever had, that's a real compliment coming from her. My wife who isn't much of a seafood lover had the fried catfish and love it. I had the pork chops and they were great. The portions of what is on the plates are enough for leftovers. Amazing food!!! We had beans and rice, Po boys and gumbo. It was all so flavorful and hit the spot for our craving of Cajun food! My sister and brother in law took us here for our first meal in Louisiana and it did not disappoint. I've ordered out and eaten here several times before. We had dine in lunch today with my family and a few friends. I normally order The Kayla (chicken salad sandwich). Their chicken salad has normally been fairly good but today I was a little disappointed. It was a little too wet and and on the salty side. One of my friends ordered the fried shrimp platter but instead they brought him a popcorn shrimp plate. When he told our waitress (Carolyn S?), she said she keyed in the wrong order. My friend said that's ok as long as he's charged accordingly. She preceded to say they're about the same price which they're not. Not the response I expected. I guess a "I'm sorry I keyed in the wrong item, you'll be charged for the popcorn plate instead of the other" would've been more forgiving. Needless to say, we did try to give Cajun Catch another try at their food and service. We heard the burgers were good but the service is not one to be desired for. Carolyn (if that's really her name) did check on our table but did not offer to refill our drinks, we refilled our drinks as needed. Unsure if we'll order or dine in again. Sometimes they can't answer the phone to take an order, they are so busy with only one person working the front. I would recommend the turkey poboy. It's my favorite sandwich in town. Went back to Cajun Catch though it is way out of the way for me. I love local fried seafood and the combo shrimp and catfish plate was perfectly cooked and hot but very bland. Needs seasoning in the prep. After finishing my meal I ordered a bread pudding dessert but BEWARE, it took a full 25 minutes for the cold bread pudding to arrive. Based on a tip from Tee W Robinson of the TV show LA Rider, my wife and I traveled to Zachary, LA, to eat at Cajun Catch. We were very pleased with the food. My wife had the half-pound hamburger, cooked to order, and a 1/2 side of onions rings that were cooked to perfection. Most restaurants would call the onion rings a full order. I had the overstuffed fried shrimp on Poboy, Dressed. Overstuffed just does not describe the amount of shrimp I received. For dessert we shared Poppa's Bread Pudding Balls, never had them before but I'm glad I tried them. Seem like they form the bread pudding into balls and deep fry them to a crispy finish and then coat them with powdered sugar. Now it was not just the food that was great, and we can't wait to go back and try other menu items, but I would be remiss if I did not mention the Restaurant's cleanness and staff. The dining room and Restrooms were clean, especially since we arrived shortly after the lunch crowd had just left. Now for the staff, all employees greeted us in a friendly manner, making sure our needs were met. Now for Cajun Catch's "Secret Weapon". (Miss C), as good as the food was, Miss C, with her engaging personality, was the icing on the cake. She made my wife and I feel like we were old friends who, regularly eat at Cajun Catch.
