Cake Bar is a cute Cafe in the downtown area by Dinosaur BBQ. I like the small community vibe it offers within. I've been here a few times and as soon as you walk in there are items on display you can buy, the menu on a large wall and two separate display cases of desserts and savory snacks you can choose from. I will admit they're not my favorite bubble tea place as the mint leaves in my fruit teas aren't my favorite part, but the desserts are great.y niece and I both ordered the strawberry shortcake and it was light and fluffy. One time we came here there were small independent vendors doing business here as well such as a permanent jewelry vendor and homemade mugs/candles. It's a very nice environment to hang out with loved ones or to study. If i lived closer this would be my "3rd place." read more

Awesome place. They have a lot of stuff to eat and drink, that you probably can't get anyplace else. If you're into tea, like boba and green tea, they have plenty of that. Lots of sweets, like they always have something different to offer. But as for me, I had the crab rangoon roll. I've always loved crab rangoon no matter what so this was a no-brainer. The best! Everything I've had at Cake Bar has been amazing, it's just a matter of ranking to find my favorites. Aside from the menu staples, they change up the cake menu pretty frequently. I tend to really love the fruit-flavored cake (and there was an almond pear pie once in the fall, I think). Honestly, I go at least once every few weeks. First review of 2023. Great cafe space with many sweets for one to choose. For lovers of boba tea, there is a weekend special with a flight of boba teas or coffee flight. It's a great place to come after dinner at the usual joints around the corner. Staff are very friendly and will answer any questions you have about the desserts and drinks. Space is very comfy and roomy for one to relax or play board games. I have been here multiple times since they opened in summer and finally get to review this place. It's a cute place with a beautiful decor representing the Asian cafe culture. I love the serene ambience of the cafe with beautiful art , plants and wicker furniture. It's a women-owned business. My go-to drink here is the taro espresso. I love that they customize their drinks very well and have low sugar and dairy free milk options. I also like their tiramisu latte especially the egg foam on top. They have really pretty desserts which are displayed beautifully in their case. My favorites are the strawberry shortcake mini and the lotus cake. The shortcake is always fresh and the cream is so light alongwith the sponge. I love that their lotus cake has generous amounts of cookie and lotus biscuit butter in it. The servers are so sweet here and the service so fast. I love coming back here whenever I am in downtown area. read more

Omg this place is soo cute and if you are eating downtown stop here after as they are open until 10pm. We stopped after dinner at Apizza regionale (it's right next door) and I assumed it would just be a small counter and you take to go but it is big with plenty of places to sit and eat. They had some savory and a lot of sweet. The whole area was clean and beautiful. I got the tiramisu which was honestly one of the best tiramisus I have ever had. Other people in our party got triple chocolate cake, a peach cake, and a cookie dough cupcake. The star surprisingly was the crab Rangoon roll (so good). We stopped in for dessert post dinner on a Saturday night. There was a nice selection of cookies and puddings to choose from. It was quiet when we arrived - 9:45? But the place was hopping within a half hour. The coffee drinks were really tasty - service was great. The cakes we had were moist and perfectly sweetened. The vibesss of this place is so cute. Books are on display all over the cafe. The staff were very friendly and welcomed all my questions of their cute desserts. My boyfriend was on a strict diet at the time for medical reasons and he was still able to get a sweet treat while we were there. The seats were a little uncomfortable. Yummmm! This little cafe is a must if you're in the area. So many delicious looking treats and drinks, I wish I could have sampled it all! I had an iced taro latte with oat milk, banana bread and carrot cake. I've never had taro before, it was different but actually tasty. Not sweet, if you're not into coffee that's overly sweet. The banana bread muffin had cream cheese frosting on top and was amazing. The carrot cake I took home to indulge in at a later time and it was okay. In my opinion, too much frosting/too sweet. Very cute inside, and the service was great. This guy didn't miss a beat even during the post dinner rush. My friend got the strawberry matcha boba and loved it, it wasn't too sweet and the strawberry puree was clearly homemade. She also got the strawberry cheesecake which was pretty expensive for the size and the decoration on top was just paper, for the price it would've been better to be decorated chocolate or fondant - but still overall great. I got the chocolate chip cookie sandwich which was absolutely perfect, the buttercream in between was so smooth and not too sugary, and the chocolate chip cookie was soft and sturdy. It tasted amazing. I also got the crab rangoon roll which was delicious, the bread it was on was amazing. The server warmed it up for me, but it wasn't hot enough and he was super nice about putting it back in the oven - it was great. This place is kind of expensive, it was about $20 for a boba and a strawberry cheesecake, but for the quality and supporting local this place is worth the splurge every now and then. read more

Being October, I chose the cinnamon sponge cake with apple filling. It had white frosting with red "blood" design and vampire bats on top. It was delicious! All the cakes were beautiful and fresh. When visiting a friend in Syracuse, one of her recommended spots was to Cake Bar. I'm glad we did. As soon as you walk into Cake Bar, you can tell it's well decorated with multiple different areas to either chill and do work or chat with friends while sipping on your bubble tea. The plants really gives the cafe a bright and calming vibe. Not only is the cafe cute, even their drinks are cutely decorated. They have their specialty drinks like the crème brûlée latte or tiramisu latte. There's also milk tea and carbonated tea-like drinks as well for non-coffee drinkers. I got the matcha with strawberry jam. It was gorgeous with the different layers (strawberry jam, cream, matcha). Personally, I loved the matcha, it wasn't too bitter or too sweet. The strawberry jam added just the prefect amount of sweetness to the matcha latte. We ordered a customized cake from the cafe. The cake wasn't too sweet. The frosting was a Viet inspired buttercream frost which was sooo good and paired really well with the berry jam and vanilla cake. I would definitely come back when I'm in the area again to try it's huge assortment of sweets. read more

Absolutely love this place! Flew in from San Diego for the holidays and searched, "best coffee near me." Cake Bar appeared. Now, each morning I drive into the city for a cappuccino and sparkling water. The staff are warm and welcoming. They knew my order after 3 visits. I've brought their strawberry shortcake and cheesecakes -plain and berry, to my parents, grandparents, and friends. Remarkable. Living in Manhattan most my adult life, I've had my share of excellent croissants from the best spots. Their plain and almond are excellent. Not far off from the world famous Arsicault in San Francisco. The team at Cake Bar along with the Syracuse community should feel really good about what they are doing. read more
