We met with her at a coffee shop because her shop was "temporarily" closed which looking back on it was the first red flag. We ordered a sand castle wedding cake of her lemon flavor. We asked for a very thin layer of chocolate between each layer as her frosting was sweet then. The cake was to look like a sand castle with four short towers. She charged us slightly more than the going rate, but promised us quality so we paid the charge. She wanted cash up front which looking back on it should have been the next red flag. I ordered a hand-painted porcelain topper and had it delivered to her to put on top our cake, which was the only part that looked good on the cake as she had nothing to do with it. We never saw the cake in one piece as it was delivered to our reception at approximately 5:00 pm while we were still at our beach wedding. When our photographer arrived at approximately 6:00 pm one tower was over. When we arrived at 6:30 pm two towers were over and the third was on its way. It was a disaster. Further, the cake was dry and the chocolate layers were exceptionally thick and it just didn't taste good. When we contacted Jenny and let her know what had happened she offered us a measly 25% refund for a cake which was almost inedible and was never in a good enough shape for even a single pic. Further she tried to blame me and the caterer for not stopping the reception to call her to fix her mistake. Do yourself a favor and try a different vendor! read more

She supplied beautiful teacups, plates and teapots. She arrived, as scheduled, and after our guests had settled in, she described the teas and food she had prepared. While we ate, she made certain the teapots were never empty. I give Jenny Perello 2 stars. We were so excited to be planning our destination wedding and were planning on using Jenny for our wedding cake. She was so kind and seemed to have such a big heart... Until that proved to be wrong. Just 5 months before our wedding my daughter was diagnosed with an incurable disease. One that will effect us until the day she dies. We made the difficult choice to cancel our plans a month later so we could focus our time and money on our 8 year old after her 9 day hospitalization. We expressed this to Jenny and asked for our deposit back. Jenny responded telling us that being a small business owner she could not refund us our deposit just 4 months before the event. I was confused because she had not bought any product for our wedding cake yet (it would go bad if she had since it was a reasonable amount of time ahead) I emailed her back explaining why I disagreed with her response and never heard back. Jenny was easy to work with until something came up which is why I gave her the stars I did. Luckily for her she got to keep money she didn't have to do anything for since we paid for our tasting to demo cakes. If we ever do resume our wedding plans I would not use her services. read more
