I purchased 2 dozen mini cupcakes for a baby shower They packaged 16 in a plastic container and remaining in same size package. They all fell over on the way home and needed replacement I drove back and gave them the cupcakes and they said they would just re ice them and Sell them! UGH! They replaced the remaining cupcakes in a smaller cardboard box with 8 as That was my remaining order The box fit 9 ..they just added crumbled paper in that spot..not even an extra cupcake for my aggravation and extra trip back there!Poor customer service..no good will here! read more

Got there later in the morning so most things they were out of. I was recommended the cinnamon roll. So I ordered it. It was delicious. Not overly sweet even though it has the sugar on top. But beyond that (which is really good instead of having the icing) is that the dough that they is is actually a croissant dough. So it's a very pleasant surprise when you eat it. You feel thr flakes. What sold me on Sweet Pea Bakery in Arroyo Grande is its variety of flavors with offerings that change daily and the option for regular and mini sized cupcakes so you can try different flavors. I figured four regulars which actually aren't that big and 2 minis to share over 2 days would be perfect. As soon as I had my first bite of the raspberry champagne, I regretted not getting more especially since they were closed the rest of our stay. Whereas most cupcake frostings are so sweet, I wipe off 3/4 of it before eating, these had the perfect sweetness not to overpower the flavor it gives the base. First choice of Raspberry champagne that thankfully I got 2 so I didn't have to share, with salted caramel a close second, peanut butter chocolate and mini cookies and cream tied, and a pass on the mini lemon in the future. Went back twice 3 months later for champagne strawberry, more salted caramel, and peanut butter chocolate and discovered another favorite, the s'mores that I had to get another the next day. Two months later, a full dozen including 4 raspberry champagne, 6 s'mores, 1 salted caramel, and 1 chocolate strawberry to bring back. Yep, I'm a fan. Note: Champagne ones are only available about once every 3-4 weeks unless someone special orders and they make extras. read more

We stopped by to pick up some macarons but unfortunately they didn't have time to make any that day (before Easter). I ended up picking up some mini cupcakes instead. We got a regular size lemon, 2 mini red velvets and 2 salted caramel. The mini cupcakes were tasty little bites and we enjoyed them. The lemon was dense, more cornbread like but had great lemon flavor with lemon curd. Overall delicious treats. read more

The workers behind the counter are very nice and seem happy. The quick walk in and go is convenient. If you have been here before be aware that even though the pastry is good it has lost its freshness that it had a year ago and more. The fairy buns have lost a lot of their flavor. The scones have become even more dry. It'd be nice for them to rehire whoever they have lost that resulted in the reduction of quality. read more

Tuesday is Gluten Free Day. Missed it, but they had some GF treats. The staff was friendly and the ship smelled like haven't. A great place to go while your waiting for your car at the car wash. Everything in the store looked well taken care of and replenished quickly. You can call in for orders. I would give more stars but have to taste the amazing creations first. read more

Will drive for cupcakes!! I found this lovely little bakery while I worked right down the street. Their baked goods are my favorite I've tried in slo county. Now I drive from SLO for every fun occasion that calls for cupcakes. Their epic little mini's give you the ability to taste a few without feeling guilty and are my go to! Top tasters for me are the red velvet, cannoli, carrot and the funfetti. Their seasonal pumpkin was to die for and the triple lemon ! If you have a favorite flavor likely they will have it or something close. They also carry an amazing assortment of croissants with prosciutto, cheese and even jalapenos in them. All of the pastries and cookies that I've tried are delicious! They're also a good size and reasonably priced. The bakery itself is a simple front counter with items behind glass or in glass jars. They'd run out of some items when we got there around noon on a weekday, so come early. We had some questions about ingredients due to an allergy and they were happy to help. The pastries have just the right flaky, buttery texture (not heavy or greasy even though you know it's full of butter...) and they have both sweet and savory options. They also have a nice variety of cookies, classic chocolate chip to other (yummy) flavor combos that I don't see often in bakeries. They're tender and don't skimp on the filling. I probably should've snapped a few pictures, but words will have to do. A few items from my recent visit: Everything Bun - flaky and buttery, salty garlic savoriness of 'everything seasoning' Cranberry pistachio shortbread - very buttery flavor, tender, studded with cranberry and pistachio chunks Cowboy cookie - oatmeal jazzed up with chocolate, coconut, and rice crispies, nice chewier texture Chocobloc cookie - oatmeal with lots of chocolate and pecan for a nice nutty flavor read more

I love love love this little bakery. The cupcakes here are delicious, the icing is sooo buttery and thick, the cake is moist and perfect. The decor is simple and sweet with a European vibe. This place is becoming my favorite bakery. We love their croissants and macarons. The macarons were not overly sweet, but still delicious, which is how the way I like it. I bought a dozen of them, 3 in strawberry, 3 in vanilla, 3 in red velvet and 3 in caramel. I loved them all. The bakery is located in a corner of a street and has ample parking. Sometimes they sell out of a certain item quickly in the morning. Around 10AM a couple of weeks ago, there were only 2 croissants left and I took them both. This was a week day! read more

If you're looking for high quality baked items, made from scratch daily, this is your place. Everything they sell here is outstanding. I am a big fan of their cookies and their morning buns. Omg as soon as I walked in, I was in heaven. Cute little shop, and the employees were busy making fresh baked goods as I looked around. There was such a variety of options. I didn't know where to start. But I soon recovered. Hehe .. There was biscotti, brownies, cupcakes, cookies, and scones. They also have coffee and tea drinks available to order. I chose a brownie and an almond and maple biscotti, salted caramel mini cupcake, red velvet mini cupcake, mixed berry scone, as well as a chocolate chip cookie. I would've probably ordered more but it was only for me so I could only get what I knew I would eat. (No i didn't eat all in one day!) the cupcakes were delicious - just the right amount and super moist. The almond biscotti was very good. And the mixed berry scone was heavenly. The brownie was delicious! the cookie was just OK. It wasn't my favorite. I couldn't put my finger on what it was that was missing. I'd definitely go back next time I'm visiting the area! I had the pleasure of having a box of these delicious cookies brought to us today and they were fabulous! I'm not a huge chocolate fan, but these cookies were moist, flavorful and the chocolate cookies were just the right amount of sweetness. From what I understand they have quite the assortment, including shortbread, chocolate chip, oatmeal, peanut butter and more. I'll have to come by This place when I'm up in SLO and get me some more. Was on a mission for a bakery that had excellent macaroons, per my daughter's birthday request. Called in a custom order for the macaroons, then added an assortment of mini cupcakes & cookies. Everything was absolutely delicious & perfectly beautiful! Definitely on the pricey side, but prices were quoted when I ordered so I can't complain about that. I was specifically impressed with the raspberry macaroons! I'd had some strawberry macaroons elsewhere that were very artificial tasting. I asked about the raspberry macaroons when I ordered & she assured me that they use fresh ingredients. They were definitely fresh & vibrant, they do not use artificial flavorings. read more

The team was so nice and the owner, even though they ran out of sugar, she opened enough packets of sugar to make my friend's lemonade. Extremely sweet! The panini's we got were also very tasty! The location is also absolutely adorable! Right next to a creek and extremely calming, it feels like staying at a friend's house. I would recommend this place to anyone passing by if they like tasty sandwiches and delicious drinks!

They do sell regular cookies as well but the shortbread is where it is at and we learned that the cookies came from the sister owners who gave them away at their sandwich shop.
