In our day's Sunnyslope business, our niece took us to Kris Frybread. Arriving we saw Dawn's. She said Dawn's gets high ratings too. After our excellent Kris meal I made my way to Dawn's. Sweet D got a cherry and an apple turnover delivered into the box. It is five days later. My sugar intake has dropped a lot. In our home baking we cut sugar ingredients by half. Older Hopi bakers put in enough sugar for a hint of sweet in their cookies. Modern bakers glaze them. I'll take those traditional ones. When I say the shortbread cup with custard was too sweet for me, that's my 21st century palate speaking. The almond cup was a buy-again item for me, still sweet, very almond. Sure enough, after my partner picked me up from the airport, we headed straight to The Sicilian Baker. Parking right out front, a huge plus. As soon as you pull in, you're greeted with Frank Sinatra playing, not just inside, but even in the parking lot. It sets the tone immediately. We walked in, gave my name, and within minutes a lovely young person brought out my tray. Ten minutes later, we were on our way. Easy. Efficient.
