She made us feel welcome and answered our questions. They offer a good variety of macarons, and they also have a few drinks, cupcakes, and some sugar cookies. The macarons are absolutely delicious and they're a good size. I also love the aesthetics of this place. Compared to the 1st shop I tried, the ones from here are bigger! It's a cute little shop in downtown/Old Town Scottsdale, but you can barely see it off the street. Once you find it, it's very quaint and cute with a few seats and a nice photo opp on the wall. I got The Ruze drink, and it was pretty good. The sweetness level was on par, and the cotton candy topping on the cup was a nice touch! I tried it, I reviewed it, and I'd probably come back again.

If that's what is actually served, the menu should clearly say "roasted rice powder" rather than "roasted rice." The Beef Stew Soup Noodles also had very little broth. I mentioned this to another waitress, who said she would ask the kitchen to bring me more broth. She never came back with it and didn't follow up until she brought the check. Then I noticed I had been overcharged. The Larb Salad was listed on the menu at $14.95, but I was charged $17.95. When I questioned the waiter, he said it was because I chose chicken and that chicken was the main protein. But I did not add extra chicken--I simply chose chicken as my protein, exactly as the menu allowed. I asked to speak with the manager, and eventually the charge was corrected. However, the waiter brought me the new receipt without any apology or acknowledgment of the mistake. Overall, I was disappointed with the lack of attention to detail and customer service. My advice: Read the menu carefully, and most importantly, check your receipt before you pay.

I noticed the terrible review by Jenny M and figured I would do my part to counteract the craziness here. The Happy Caker's cupcakes are the best cupcakes I've ever had, hands down. Same with their buttercream; it's so lite, creamy, and not over-the-top sweet - yum! They are what I would consider a "gourmet cupcake," so don't expect a store-bought or box-made taste, these are much more refined. The presentation is lovely, beautifully topped buttercream and other toppings carefully sprinkled and placed on top make them look so inviting. The colors and tastes of an assorted box are stunning. The cupcakes are so soft and moist; it's obvious The Happy Caker only uses top ingredients. Considering how high quality everything is, the price seems extremely fair, especially given that they are a small, family-owned, business. I will never buy store-bought or box-made cupcakes again. Unbelievable the nerve of some people to post such nasty reviews that have no basis in reality. I eat here at least once a week and have since they opened last year. In fact, this week I've been twice :) ... They've never made me not feel well, just leave me wanting more (and for what it's worth I have a very weak stomach, just saying). I 100% encourage everyone to go there and enjoy what I consider the best bakery around. Recently I had the great pleasure meeting Shannon(The Happy Caker). She made cakes for my twin sons. My one son who is fighting brain cancer and really wanted a Umizoomi Bot Cake and my other son wanted either a panda bear or wiggles. She not only was able to create AMAZING cakes but she also included both the Panda Bear and the wiggles together. We were blessed she was able to do these cakes for Cakes Against Cancer. I would recommend her 100%. She did such an amazing job!! Both of the boys loved the cakes along people from there 5th birthday party.I also shared how they could contact her. Walking into The Happy Caker shop will put a smile on your face. From the display case full of delicious treats to the owner, Shannon, who is just so gosh darn nice. The cupcakes are beautifully decorated and taste amazing. There is an array of cookies to choose from, the pumpkin bread is perfectly spiced and the banana bread whoopie pie with both peanut butter and chocolate fluff is simply devine. The menu changes weekly so there is always something new to try. So, next time you are near 92 Ave and Wads, make sure you stop at The Happy Caker. You won't be disappointed! read more

I found the price to be fair, the shop to be clean and with lots of variety (I had a hard time choosing just 4 cupcakes) and there was easy parking out front. The woman who helped me might have been Barb. Very friendly and welcoming attitude. I'd stop in again!
