We began our wedding planning journey in February and reached out to Cakewalk. Little did we know, they are the whole package. We initially wanted to discuss breakfast catering options, but once we received highly detailed emails from Jennifer about her services we then decided to move forward with planning/catering/floral/furniture/signage/wedding cake/tastings/wine pairings and so much more. Cakewalk provided the perfect nature design/coordination, organic farm to table catering and custom cake design with dessert services for our special day. Jennifer is an absolute gem. She connected with us via phone and email multiple times leading up to the big day to plan a truly amazing wedding day. She asked us for our pinterest board, and she really listened to our ideas and concerns. Her emails were very detailed and consisted of multiple design boards. She was very organized and provided us with a comprehensive planning timeline. Jennifer incorporated two new entrees for our dinner service that were not in their original menu selection. During the tasting, she offered the highest degree of service. She also provided the wine pairings for each dish! Jennifer coordinated with all our vendors. She planned a day of coronation timeline that was perfectly executed and was flexible with any changes. She really has a caring eye for detail and made our dream wedding a reality! Our wedding party was intimate with 20 guests and Jennifer and her team really made everyone feel like royalty. I am like many, a bride to be who's wedding was postponed due to COVID19. I was set to get married in Yosemite mid April, everything planned out - it was devastating to learn our plans were over as we knew them. I was contacted by Jennifer from Cakewalk offering complimentary handmade cookies to send our way to enjoy on what would have been our special day. Beth & Mitch Married October 22nd 2019 Wedding size of 31 Working with Cakewalk bakery was a pleasure from the very start. I was given her vendor info from my reception coordinator at rush Creek Lodge. Jennifer had great communication throughout the process and was so hospitable and sweet when my fiancé and two girls drove down from San Jose for q cake tasting. Jennifer had champagne and sparkling juice for the kids to sip on while we tasted all the yummy flavors and talked about our style of the wedding. When she sent me the sketches of her vision I was blown away at the creativity and how much it completely was perfectly representative of the style and feel of classy/ rustic I was hoping for. When I finally saw the cake on the day of I was even more blown away. JUST STUNNING! Oh and it tasted like perfection as well. Her sugar flower work is so detailed, all around 10 stars for the creativity, hospitality, professionalism and taste of her work. I would recommend her to anyone in the area hands down. read more

Found this gem on yelp, of course. The reviews were great and it was close to where we were vacationing. I called on their day off and left a message. The owner contacted me back and I told her we needed a birthday cake (not too chocolatey and not fruity), 4 bacon maple croissants (yes, that is a thing) and a dozen cookies, by Thursday (2 days away). She said no problem. When I arrive to this tiny quant California backwoods town, she greeted me warmly. She was very nice, the cake was ready and beautiful. The only issue I had was that it slid around in the box a lot on those back roads. I think a smaller box or larger circular cake platter under it would have kept it from moving around. The birthday girl loves the tiramisu cake. And I enjoyed the heck out of those croissants, chocolate chip and oatmeal lavender cookies. If she was closer to the bay it would be dangerous; I would be ordering from there all the time. read more

I'm late to post this review but I wanted to make sure I did. I love this bakery. I ordered my daughter's birthday cake from Cakewalk in June of 2019. It was kind of last minute but Jennifer was able to squeeze us in. She was friendly and helpful. Due to several family members including my daughter having allergies I needed a vegan cake that was gluten-free as well as nut free. Jennifer was able to accommodate this beautifully. Posting with some delay- we hired Cakewalk to cater an anniversary dinner for 14 people for us in October, and could not have been happier with their work. Jennifer and her family were wonderful! The food was prepared on the spot and delicious - our guests still talk about how good the vegetarian options were in particular. The setup was flawless. My communication with Jennifer over the months prior to the event was seamless, and she did a great job of walking me through details and logistics that I did not have prior experience with. I am so happy to have worked with Cakewalk Heirloom Baking Co for our small & private wedding reception. I live in Florida and all of my communication with Jennifer (owner) was via email. We did a video conference call once where she explained all of her services in details. Initially we were only going to get a cake but she mentioned her catering services. We were staying in a cabin in Yosemite National Park. The day of our wedding, Jennifer came to the cabin and decorated everything beautifully. There were fresh flower and small lights everywhere. She set up a dessert, cake and appetizers table. When my husband and I arrived at the cabin we were shocked to see everything. Our dinner party was composed of 12 people. Jennifer took her time to explain everything to us. She has a soothing and calm tone of voice and she even put beautiful background music. She served us wine, salad, our main course and the cake. All of her food is organic and fresh from the farm. My husband is a picky eater and I asked her to make Fettuccini Alfredo as he does like that a lot. She made us the best Fettuccini Alfredo we have ever had. She also made us espresso and provided chocolate truffles and cookies and she left us with fresh baked croissants for breakfast the next day. Jennifer's professionalism and service made us feel like we were at a fancy 5 star restaurant even though we were in our cabin. My parents even said they felt like celebrities. So amazing. We worked with Cakewalk from 1500 miles away, and we have no regrets. The communication was spot-on, they worked with our unique setup (we got married in a state park), and they blew us away with unique food options and cake flavors (ask them what's seasonal!). We never met face to face or tested anything prior to our wedding day, and they created a delicious menu and beautiful catering setup for us -that we didn't see until we arrived after the ceremony! I had booked cakewalk for my elopement in Yosemite. We had great communication before, talked about table settings, food, etc! Everything was all set to go. However, 2 days before arriving I received an email that their refrigerator had broken and they had to cancel. They gave me one recommendation for food in the email. I called about 50 times and sent multiple emails and never heard from them. I felt like they had ghosted me, I even called other businesses in their town to try to go and talk to them to just call me back to try to work something out. I was happy with just the table and decorations and I'd pack my own food, however they never even called me and tried to help me at all. Finally got ahold of them 2 weeks later, and I had forgotten to pay them in full so they didn't help me find new vendors. Overall, the communication lacked and I was left with nothing for my wedding day. read more

My daughter and I stopped by Cakewalk Heirloom Baking on the way back from a weekend in Yosemite. The food is absolutely amazing. We bought cookies and scones to take home. Jennifer is a great host and her daughter is as cute as bug. In addition, you should note that Jennifer kept her business open during the devastating Detwiler fire and served free iced coffee to the firefighters. We stopped in and were pleasantly surprised with this great cafe! It is cute, clean, and cozy. The owner takes pride in the ingredients she uses, sourcing her grains, local produce and meats, and growing some items herself. The house made iced tea is delicious. She has an array of pastries, quiche, and sandwiches, and she bakes everything herself. She even had amazing paleo cookies. Amazes me every time we visit how such an awesome bakery can be in such a tiny town! This is the opposite of store bought! No mixes, just an amazing array of organic, farm-to-table treats... including sandwiches; breads & light, flaky authentic croissants; several varieties of large, amazing cookies; bread pudding that tastes like the best french toast ever; and what ever else happens to be on the menu on any given day! Thought the meatloaf sandwich was my fave until I tried the pulled pork layered with the mildest grilled onions I've ever bitten into! Wow, my new fave. My husband goes straight for the bread pudding and I always take home some croissants if not sold out by the time we get there along with Jenniifer's (the baker and owner) amazing cookies.
