Two years (2008) ago, I had them install a new radiator in my condo. At first, I was really excited because it's small, modern and blends into my living room instead of being a big eye sore. About 3 days after the install I noticed there was water all over my floor under the radiator, so I called them to come fix it. Apparently when you balance a metal radiator with PVC piping, it melts which makes it unbalanced and causes water to go everywhere. They fixed it, so I just chalked it up as a "mistake that could happen to anyone."
Then in October 2009, I had them come back because my tub was slow draining. A new plumber was sent to my house and after he took some stuff apart and the drain snake returned nothing, he went to his truck to get more equipment. (What he didn't tell me was that by using the camera to inspect my drain, it would be additional $99) After he sent the camera down the drain, he called me in the bathroom to show me that there was an earring way down in the drain and that was probably catching my hair and was the source of the problem.
I asked him if he could get it out and he said that he didn't have the proper equipment, but he could come back and he'd have someone from the office give me a call to schedule. Then he recommended that I buy a product they sell "Bio-Clean." He then pulls out a container the size of an XL oatmeal container (think Quaker dry oats!) and asks me if I'd like to buy it... in this very moment I realized that he was trying to pull one over on me because I am a woman! I decline the 3 year supply, agree to get a smaller container since at this point my drain still isn't fixed. He then tells me that I can save 20% today if I sign up for their frequent buyer program, it was at this point that he also disclosed that my bill was going to be $240 AND NOTHING WAS EVEN FIXED. I agreed so that I could save a few bucks and he told me I could cancel anytime.
A week later, I still never received a call from him office for the reschedule, so I called there to find out when he could come back to get the earring out of the drain. The most ridiculous part about it was that she told me that I would have to pay for ANOTHER service call because it wasn't a part of the original. How is it my fault that he didn't have the proper equipment to fix it correctly the first time??
Needless to say, 5 phone calls later, I FINALLY got out of paying for the frequent buyer program (which you CAN'T cancel at anytime). They never came back to fix my tub, but at this point, I'd rather stand in a pool of water than have to deal with their seriously unorganized and unprofessional organization. read more
