I had this company come to see why upstairs toilet was not flushing properly. The technician, Victor, put a hand snake into the toilet two times. Flushed and water went down, but slower than normal. I said I did not think the flush was powerful enough. Victor said, "It's old." So in less than 5 minutes, he was on his way. 5 flushes later, the toilet still has a blockage. Phone calls and text messages have been ignored. Still waiting. Victor pointed out the phone number on the invoice and said to call if I had any problems. We had hired Steve at Snyder Remodeling & Home Repair for a home project for various small repairs…read morethrough out outside of our house. The job originally quoted for half day by both Steve and his worker. After Steve discussed with his worker, he took off and his worker took off several times during the repair because he needed to get the materials for the project then later needed to go back to shop to do a return, so on and so forth. So half day became one day but his worker still was not able to finish it, subsequently he had to come back for another half day to finish the project. We were really disturbed by his worker's performance because the job was just finished adequately. The biggest surprise for us is to discover few weeks later because his worker was hammering too forcefully when he was replacing part of the outside window wood frame due to dry rot damage, he cracked the inside window walls on both sides of the window (see pictures). We reached out to Steve and he stated it's cosmetic but did not offer to come back to repair it, so we even offered to pay him to get it repaired. Finally he sent the same worker who worked on the repair previously, when I asked him to wear shoe covers inside the house, he stated he had none, then he called Steve who told me over the phone again they don't have shoe covers and offered to use tarp on the floor instead which I agreed. However when Steve came, he entered the house without shoe covers and walked all over the front entrance and dinning room floor, I was so amazed and told him that I would put the tarp down instead of him walking all over my floor with his shoes on, he got upset and walked right out. I went out side and tried to reason with him also explained to him if his worker did not crack our inside window walls, we actually would not need this repair, he again said that I would not let him put down the tarp, I said again that he was walking with is shoes on my floor which I was trying to prevent, and told him again if i can put the tarp down myself. He got even more upset then yelled at me "I am done!" and took off with his worker!! Later we reached out to him, he just ignored us. This is really a disturbing experience for us which we utilized several other people from YELP with great results, and we thought that a small home project would not create so much hassles and lingering damage that needs another repair.

There was an issue where the front facade had to be raised (after framing) to account for water sloping from the driveway. Although a bummer that it had already been built out, he/his team re-did the work and the City was reasonable on the solution given that the garage header and roof were fixed. Whew! Overall, it took longer than I had hoped for what I thought was a small job but construction projects in 2021 were hectic. JD stayed true to his estimate. Of course there were additional costs as I we got into construction and I realized that some things were better to be done while the patient was on the table, so to speak, but I chose to add the costs and there were no surprises.
