I've had great pizza in the past at Calabria in Orangeburg. This review is based on my order tonight in New City. My husband enjoyed his meatball parmesan hero (hence the 3 stars and not 0.) I thought the eggplant parm hero was disgusting. It was soft and mushy without flavor or color. I called to ask if it's normally not breaded because I know in the past I've enjoyed an eggplant entree. They stated they do not bread it and "understand" my disappointment. We ordered a couple of pizza pies, wings and sliders with french fries. Everything was good.

My local go to place for a regular slice like in the bronx. Always piping hot and fresh. Can't go wrong here. Chicken rolls are good too.

Tonight was our first time ordering from Calabria . We live super close by and decided to give it a try , BAD IDEA . We waited 2 hours for a delivery of 1 pizza . We called numerous times only to be told the delivery guy was on his was and would be there in one minuet ... this went on for 40 minutes . Extremely disorganized and not a way to run a business . I feel bad but not only will we never order form them again , we will be certain to express to others to also stay clear . Just terrible . Beyond rude. Ordered online and payed with a card, but there was no option to leave a tip for the delivery driver. I called immediately after placing my order to ask if I could leave a tip on my card for the driver. The guy who answered the phone snapped at me and said I had to do it myself. When I told him there wasn't an option online to do so he said next time I have to do it myself a second time (???) and hung up on me. I don't know what his deal was but his tone was very impolite from the moment he answered the phone and he wasted no time before borderline yelling at me and then hung up before I could say anything. I feel sorry for the people that have to work with that guy. Food was average at best. Definitely never giving this place my money again. read more

If you ask nice (and pay an extra buck), they'll make the bread for your sandwich gharlic bread style. A worthy know, for sure. Ate here twice, actually, while in New City. Once for parm sandwiches and fries and the other for pizza (okay, that was take out but it was from here). Both meals were quite satisfying indeed. It's hard, however, for me to dislike pizza in New York, since most of it is "New York Style," which is very important to me (and hard to find in Massachusetts where I live - stupid Greek pizza is everywhere!), so, while I contend to Calabria is very good, it's very good in a land of a lot of amazing. read more

Completely disgusted from what I saw behind the counter when picking up my food. This place is my normal spot to go when I want pizza in New City but I guess not anymore. One of the workers or delivery guys (I'm assuming) was lounging drinking soda from the soda fountain behind the pizza counter while I waited for food. I watched the kid pick with his bare hands at one of the bacon or chicken slices and take a piece off and eat it. He just left the slice there to be purchased after. I then saw him go to the bathroom, come back out, go behind the counter again and pick again not once but twice at the garlic knots and leave the remaining garlic knots he just touch with his bare hands for purchase. I wasn't going to say anything but after the kid did it three times I mentioned something to I assume the manager on hand about what I saw but not sure if anything was done since the food still stayed behind the counter and I left. I cannot write a review for the food because I wasn't able to get any. I walked in on 4/26 one person was waiting for his food. I stood at the counter waiting for the millennial to look up from his cell phone to acknowledge me. After standing for a minute or two he finally realized I was standing there. Of course I left. I will not reward bad behavior with my business. This location is located within walking distance to the Rockland County Courts and other municipal buildings. People have tight windows for lunch and cannot indulge such horrible customer service. Some people just shouldn't work in hospitality. read more

We usually go for the take out Tuesday special which we highly recommend. For $25 you get a half tray of pasta, meat, salad and bread to feed a family of 5, so a pretty good deal. Ripped off for the Super Bowl My husband placed an order for a large cheese pizza and a tray of 36 wings to be picked up on the day of the Super Bowl. We didn't want that many wings, but the person on the phone said that was the fewest we could order. They charged us SIXTY DOLLARS ($60!!!!). And to add insult to injury, the wing were soggy. I always like to judge a pizza place by their plain cheese slice. Here their regular slice was nothing special, a bit bland in my opinion. It was on the thicker side of the normal slice and just was not something I can see myself going back for again. Came here for lunch after picking my kid from school. It is right across from Starbucks. I was a little disappointed they didn't have a salad slice since I feel like most places do. I got a regular slice for my kids to share and a tomato mozzarella slice. The slices were okay. Nothing special. The crust was crisp which is good but there wasn't enough sauce on both slices. The tomato slices were too big and fell right off when I picked up the slice. The reason why I took off 2 stars was because the guy that handed me the pizzas had filthy hands. There were dirt under his fingernails and also found a hair on my plate under my pizza. It doesn't seem that clean to me. I should have read the other reviews before deciding to eat here. I hope that the oven at least kill all the germs before we ate the slices. Not sure if I will come back here. I wasn't impressed with the pizza and I'm a bit worried about how clean the place is. read more

STAY AWAY! My actual review is 0 stars but it won't allow me to do that. My wife and I ordered food for our family and was told it would take 45 mins to be delivered. 2.5 hours later our food finally arrived after calling to complain in which the manager was unapologetic and completely rude to my wife on the phone. "What do you want me to do?!" was his words to my wife, not the first time this attitude was given to us when our food took far too long to get to us. My kids (4yrs and 20mo) had to eat dinner well past their bed times. To top it off, the driver who seemed to be under the influence, cursed at my wife in front of my 4yr old and complained that we were two towns away (if it's a problem then don't offer delivery to us!). Delivery driver then threw the money at my wife and left the cold food on the porch before leaving. Never ordering from them or their restaurants again. The food is pretty great but something I noticed while I sat and ate is...a lot of the staff don't use gloves when they work. I've watched the cashiers use their hands to prepare slices and then accept cash from customers after and repeat that process without washing their hands. It bummed me out because I enjoy the food there but that's really unsanitary. That's literally my only problem. If they fixed that I'd be there every other day. read more

I have not actually had pizza there, but we always order pasta dishes. They do a great job with the pasta, especially the baked ziti and ravioli. The workers are very nice. It is always clean in there. It is great prices and they always have deals. NOTE: If you eat there and order water, there sometimes is an oily-looking film floating on the top of the water when they serve it in their "to stay" plastic cup (I think it is from dish soap?) so ask for a paper cup. read more
