Haven't been here in decades, and it was a pleasant surprise! Food was quite good, as was the table bread! We had various (huge) Calzones and Fettuccine Alfredo, and ended with Chocolate Mousse Cheesecake and coffee! The service was excellent, thank you Oscar & Fabian! All needs met, very attentive and very accommodating! My additional "to go" order was incorrect, but they were very pleasant in correcting it, but the trip back was a bit inconveniencing. Wish they gave the place a little facelift, could definitely use a little updating. (The bathrooms were immaculate clean- a bonus, and tell tale sign of their pride.) We came here to treat our child's friends for a birthday get together after watching a movie. The staff seated us immediately and we were treated well. We ordered two pies of pizza which came out relatively quickly. The pizza was good (a bit on the salty side) but good nonetheless. We received 6 wings, 1 of which was an unidentifiable piece of chicken. 4 basic mozzarella sticks, and a handful of fried calamari, the kind where the breading came off when you picked it up. 8/31/22. A life long friend and I were in Yonkers and decided to visit Pizza Beat; for us it was nostalgic. For decades we went there with our girlfriend's who became our wives. The kids we brought along are now in their late 30's and older. For the most part it's still the same building. There have been renovations that are improvements. My parents often brought my sisters and I here in the 90s. Well, in 2025, I was in the area and decided to stop by and they DID NOT DISAPPOINT!!! The food was SOOOO GOOD!! I had the clams casino, lentil soup, and lobster ravioli. Went to pizza beat for lunch wiith friends, although the staff was friendly the food was the worst I've had in a restaurant. My friend ordered a hamburger what he got was a burger that tasted like it was left over from 2 days ago and they just warmed it up. I ordered the steak it was small tastless and full of fat and grizzle. My other friend ordered the veal parmesan what she got was this giant hunk of bread with a very thinly sliced breaded piece of veal that tastes like a frozen Encore TV dinner you get at the supermarket . He's mentioned this place over the years & raved about the food joking that the name "Pizza Beat" doesn't do it justice. The service upon entering the establishment up until the check was delivered was quite exceptional! The atmosphere was great - no complaints there. The semi loud music, we probably could have done without. It seems this is something you cannot escape anywhere you go these days. We were able to talk, not yell, over the music so it was tolerable & not terribly annoying. Now the food ... We started with appetizers. I got the Mozzarella & Tomato. It was a very nice sized portion & SOOOO good. My husband tried the Stuffed Artichoke with he thought it was just okay. We both had soup before the main. I tried the Lentil & he had the Minestrone. Nothing special there. Almost something you would be served at a diner. My main was the Tortellini Alfredo which I really enjoyed & my hubby got the Filet of Sole Francese with Spaghetti. He thought it was just okay. I wanted a taste of their spaghetti sauce & we both agreed it was not the best sauce we've tasted. The portions we very good for the price & we did take home leftovers. To finish I tried a Cappuccino, meh ... & we shared a chocolate lava cake with 2 scoops of vanilla ice cream. Again, the quality was kinda diner-like. Wifey had shrimp and broccoli over linguini, she didnt order her usual shrimp oreganata.., according to her as expected the pasta was great. I had the grilled rib eye steak with roasted potatoes and mixed veggies., it was ok., it wasnt dry however i asked for medium but they made it well done, it was a little chewy, definitely not the best steak. My son had their signature sausage pizza, as expected it was very good., my daughter had her penne with butter sauce and chix fingers, and she liked it very much. Fried. Calamari as usual is crispy and tasty. But the highlight of the night was the chocolate souffle, it is a must to have after your meal. Came in for lunch today. Was told to sit wherever I'd like. Server appeared dismissive and uninterested in being at work. Ordered Fried Zucchini, portion size is half of what it used to be and was almost flavorless. Had a family sized Penne a la Vodka with Chicken, which was pretty good. Server disappeared after bringing our food out to us and was never to be seen again until it was time to pay. This is not the first occasion this has happened to us. We will not be returning. Came here today for a lunch, place was pretty empty, maybe 3 other tables. The waiter handed us the lunch special menu so I ordered the chicken francese. I tell my waiter that I would like the francese sauce on the penne rather than tomato, and he says "if you want same sauce it's extra". I didn't understand that one! Especially when it's a small piece of chicken they give you with very little sauce as well. When I went to the counter to check out the gentleman swiped my card for a higher price than the tab. I asked him what this was about and he says we apply a 4% service charge when using credit or debit cards. Well that would of been nice if I had known that before being charged and he says "we have a sign up" and points to the wall BEHIND ME, so I am supposed to see a sign behind my head?! That wasn't right! Lastly and the biggest reason I won't be returning here, as we were walking out, the wall right next to the kitchen had a cockroach crawling on it! ABSOLUTELY GROSS and a huge health violation. I almost puked! And the manager didn't even seem to care when we pointed it out to him. Horrible!!! He held awesome conversation and had some really nice things to tell us. We really enjoyed his service. Carla made some phenomenal drinks for the table. Her Spicy margarita was on point! Thanks girl! I went there with my aunt two weeks ago and the experience was horrible. I ordered cold antipasto and it came with 2 pieces of salami stuffed with olives, two pieces of ham and two tiny pieces of mozzarella. Sent it back obviously. Our waiter was good but everything else was horrible. Wow!! So disappointed!! I've been coming here for 30+ years. The pizza use to be delish. Now it's terrible. The flavor is sub par and the crust was still white/raw underneath. So floppy!! As of 3/23, the portions are much smaller & are now at least $5 higher per entree than months ago. Most come with a small (iceberg) salad. Maybe a handful of leaves and 2 coin sized slices of tomato. Baked ziti $23 came in a small-ish size boat dish. Definitely wouldn't fill a man. I don't mind the $ increase if the portions were larger. You shouldn't increase prices AND cut portions!! Fountain Sodas used to be free refills. Now you pay $3.99 for every refill. They charge a 4% processing fee that is added to the bill. All in all, you could eat at a fancier/higher class restaurant for the same prices they charge here. Food is ok, not great!! read more

I ordered a slice with anchovies and cherry peppers and I was extremely disappointed with this experience. What was delicious were the anchovies and cherry peppers, but they were swimming in hot oil floating on top of the few drizzles of cheese. I had to take a napkin to soak up the oil before I bit into it. Italian cuisine is one of my favorites and a slice of pizza should never get one star. Went last week and was not satisfied with my Chicken Parm. My relatives raved about their meals. Chicken Scarpriello was a winner according to one of my family, another was very pleased with the Mushroom Risotto. We came back Friday night. I ordered Scungilli Salad. I haven't had Scungilli in over 30 years. It was deeelicious. I am glad spell check did not change the spelling. For dinner I had Linguine with white clam sauce. Outstanding! The dish was piled mile high with pasta and clams. Another winner! 2 members of my family ordered Chicken Scarpriello Family style with Penne and the same sauce. They raved about the flavor and the price was right because it was cheaper for 2 people to have Family Style. Plus, it was so abundant that took home leftovers. My daughter had the Mushroom Risotto because she loves the way they make it. We were all so full that we did not have room for dessert or coffee. The waiter and busboy were very attentive. Yes, I love this place. Straight out of the 70s and 80s, before playing card portions and dishes finished with lobster foam and truffle breath. Delicious red sauce Italian. No pretense. Wonderful thin crust pizza. The ricotta in manicotti creamy and gooey, nice gravy. Good calzone, pastas, and eggplant rollatine. Lunch specials are terrific. Bread, soup, salad and entree ten or eleven bucks. Everything is good. The ambience? Please never change. It is what is supposed to be. Italian posters. The food porn channel, I mean Food Network on the flat screen. Tables for big groups. Booths. The music is great. It is a Pizza Beat medley of Volare, that's Amore, o sole mio, funiculi funicula, Rat Pack and Nessun Dorma in the same hour. If you don't know what Nessun Dorma is, get with the program.
