    The breve missing its flavoring.
    Abigail C.

If you want to pay for something you won't get- go here! I ordered a breve with caramel and apple in it (trying to make a coffee version of their seasonal lotus drink!) and whip cream.... It came without whip, so I asked and got it put on top, then realized as I took a sip (halfway back to my car) that they didn't put any apple syrup in it. It's kind of a disorganized wreck. A friend ordered a hot breve and her cup was less than half full. I'd recommend you scoot down the street to minders cup, or, on Sundays, make coffee at your camp spot/hotel. Skip the $6 coffee that doesn't have flavor. They have plenty of seating, but zero space to wait to take coffee to go as well. Overall, I'd give it zero stars if I could.

    Breakfast burrito

Staff was a little to seat us but once we were seated service was good and efficient. The home fries were delicious. Everything seems to have large portion sizes. The breakfast burrito was HUGE and super tasty. I got it with the sausage and it had a nice flavor. The eggs were good. The lattes were tasty and made very quickly. It was quite chilly where we were seated which is nice to cool down but you may want to bring a layer. They had really cute decorations and it was a pretty busy place even on a weekday morning. I'd go back!

Cold brew with way too much milk

The cold brew is very weak. Both my friend and I asked for a splash of oat milk. The first one looked like a latte and my friend asked for it to be remade. The remade one was still way too much milk. We both ended up with what tasted like weak coffee and too much milk.

We stopped here on two separate days. I ordered the same thing both days, an iced latte with an extra shot - vanilla and toasted marshmallow. On the first day the coffee was bitter and not overly pleasant, but the caffeine was needed so I drank it. On the second day we stopped much earlier in the day and it was perfect. Everyone's allowed to have off days and the second coffee made up for it. It is a bit slow moving, but you can tell they're a busy place. This coffee shop is connected to a cafe as well that is nicely decorated. Do keep in mind that they stop making speciality coffees at 3pm.

Cute place with lots of old pictures. Really good coffees and teas. Service great. Good breakfast. Crispy potatoes and crispy bacon. The wife had french toast which I tasted and agree it was good.

    Fish sandwich and onion rings.

Friendly service and great food! I ordered the fish sandwich and onion rings...so good! The onion rings were so yummy I was wishing there was a mountain of them! The fish was cooked to perfection and not manufactured fish patties. I really recommend this place!

Sooo amazing!! Definitely stop here if you're in custer. Good pricing, the whole place is so cute, and the food is amazing! Our server was very nice and so was everyone else in the restaurant. I got the french toast with a chai, the chai is the best chai I've ever had! And the french toast was amazing! My boyfriend got the breakfast bowl and loved it! Definitely would come here again if ever in the area, don't miss this spot!

First time to Custer, SD and started the morning with a big hike. Decided on a whim to try a restaurant since we were exhausted. We chose this one and unfortunately it didn't do much to make us feel comfortable. Several menus we saw online indicated breakfast served until 3, which I love but unfortunately when we got in, the physical menus said breakfast served until noon. Not the worst thing ever but it was a let down right away. With our orders my husband chose a side he thought sounded great but they were out of the jumbo mushroom side. Again, not a big deal but maybe just note that they may not have what you're looking for there. I ordered my sandwich with sauce on the side and felt frustrated when it came on the sandwich. I'm always willing to try a sauce, but the waitress told us she had noticed the sauce incorrectly added to the sandwich and the kitchen told her they were sure I would enjoy it. Personally I didn't appreciate the kitchen staff saying such a thing and in the end I avoided the sauce all together. I appreciated that the kitchen was able to remake my sandwich in the end but still felt frustrated. The waitress brought us a couple prepackaged donuts to apologize, which was very thoughtful. The last problem was actually the menu again. At the beginning I took a photo to upload here, since I was upset about the incorrect menu. I saw that our receipt prices were higher than the menu. When I brought this to their attention they responded that any restaurant in the area would be like theirs-higher prices due to tariffs affecting the area in the last year. In the end, I would not recommend this place to visitors.

We had really good service, enjoyed the coffee and my burrito was tasty. They also have a coffee bar for fancier drinks.

What a cute shop that also serves breakfast and lunch. We were served by "Lou". She came and told us later her name Is actually "Lushia". What a beautiful name. We ordered flat whites with low-fat milk. Lushia had never made one. When I explained it's between a latte and a cappuccino, she agreed to try it. And she did a perfect job! She gave us cold foam on top since it's National Coffee Day too. Well done!

Go for the name, stay for the excellent coffee, delicious food, and the not-so-secret meeting of the real movers and shakers in the town of Custer. We went to Calamity Jane's because my wife is into anything to do with that historical figure. Oh, and we needed some coffee and food to get us on the road for the next leg of a lengthy road trip. The name of the place fits just right, with a warm and rustic interior partially lit by lamps along the walls and plenty of historical tidbits about Calamity Jane everywhere you look. The coffee was so good we went for a second round, and the food was simple but satisfying breakfast and brunch fare. While we were enjoying ourselves at a corner booth, a large group of older gentlemen took over a large table grouping in the center of the dining room. They held court on all manner of local issues while they were there - clearly Calamity Jane's is the place to be on a random Tuesday morning in Custer! You may or may not catch a glimpse of the secret cabal of Custer's decisions-makers while visiting Calamity Jane's. But I'd say you're pretty much guaranteed to a fine cup of coffee, a great meal, and a memorable experience.

$1.88 for a small iced coffee. That would be 3.9 squared to the negative power in Boston. Coffee was aiight.

Our waiter seated us immediately, gave us menus and took our drink order. Note: they don't serve alcohol. We had there specialty chicken pot pie and a strawberry salad, both were very good. And we couldn't leave without having a piece of apple pie that was as good as mom's. The service and the food was very good and i would highly recommend the Purple Pie Place. Fortunately it moved fairly quickly. Service was efficient and friendly. The decor is pleasant, kind of a purple Victorian farm house feel. I got a slice of the apple pie and the peanut butter pie to go. The apple pie was awesome! Redolent of cinnamon, the filling was fully cooked, full of soft apple-y goodness. The crust was flaky and sweet and might have have sugar and cinnamon baked in the top crust. Delicious! The peanut butter pie was also great. A soft, light peanut butter filling in a flaky crust. Yummy! The apple pie was the star of the show for me this visit. I can't speak to their ice cream or other offerings. But it looks like they offer lots of savory items as well as coffee drinks. The pie here is truly delicious! My friend did not steer me wrong!

This is how a restaurant should be. If I'm going to spend the egregious amount of money to eat out…read morein 2026, it should be better than what I can cook at home. Too often do I go out to eat and spend $30+ to eat bland, overprocessed garbage food. This place clearly cares are but their quality. First - the menu items are unique and everything looked delicious. The quality of the food was top notch. The Eggs Benedict was pretty dang close to perfection. I'm a snob when it comes to eggs Benedict and it's soooo nice to find a place that actually does it right. They clearly made their own hollandaise and the eggs were poached perfectly. The service was excellent as well - the waitress was always checking in on me and she was very warm and friendly. Same with all of the other staff I've encountered. Honestly it's a little pricey but youre only going to spend an additional $5-10 per person over the greasy spoon diner down the street and it's wayyyy worth it. The restaurant was also very clean and inviting. I'm so sick of going to restaurants and the menus are dirty, the bathroom is disgusting, and the ambiance is dingy. This place was clean, fresh, and well kept up. Seriously one of the best restaurants I've tried in a while.
